Can we use Twitter to end the wars in Iraq and Af/Pak? Who knows - but it's definitely worth a try since nothing else has worked, including the elections of an antiwar Democratic Congress in 2006 and an antiwar Democratic President in 2008. So here are ready-to-go messages to Tweet to Members of Congress who use Twitter. (See the FireDogLake whip page.)

War funds
While it sounds good to deny funds for Iraq, money is still needed to get the troops out so denying funds won't do it. Obama says he'll have combat troops out by next year. He'll keep advisors, trainers, etc. there longer. It won't help things in that part of the world if a civil war breaks out or Iran moves in after we leave.
As far as Afghanistan goes, what's your plan for protecting our country against Al Qaeda and the Taliban who support them if we pull troops out of there?
You assume
the governments and armies of Iraq and Afghanistan are incapable of defending themselves, even after 6-7 years of US training and equipment.
It's time for them to step up - we can't fund them forever.
