This is the big meeting of the year to nominate candidates.  In addition to City,
Town, and County offices, new people are running for seats on the
County Committee.  Candidates get a chance to introduce themselves and present their agenda. All the candidates are circulating petitions and
would love to get your support and your signatures. The Committee has
the option to endorse.  There is the possibility primaries, and
many issues that need to be resolved.

This is the meeting to attend if you want to help shape our local
Democratic Party.  Bring up your issues, suggestions, concerns.  Let's
make our local party a forceful advocacy group on issues.

We will meet on the 29th to discuss the formation and future of the RPDC and elect officers. We will also begin to organize for the 2009 campaign season and would like to hear from you.

We have some very important village, town, and county elections coming in the fall and we need to identify the critical races and issues and focus the energy of the  RPDC.

Mary Fuchsman is hosting our next Houseparty this Saturday, August 9 from 2-4pm. I hope you will be able to join us. The Honorable Paul Koretz, (Assemblyman - Retired) will be our featured speaker.

Paul had a distinguished career in the State Legislature, is now the Director of the Jewish Labor Committee and is running for LA City Council in 2009. He has been a social justice activist all his life and has made an impressive impact throughout his career. He currently serves as the co-chair of the LA County Democratic Party Legislative Committee on which I (Carole Lutness) sit. I have come to deeply admire the breadth of his understanding as well as his great ability to work with and move people toward action.
