WHY INDICT?:

An information session and discussion about the Kennebunkport Town Meeting Ballot Article calling for the Indictment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 3 to 5 p.m. at 78 Old Cape Road, Kennebunkport.

This is to invite you and everyone on your list to join a conference call to discuss coordination of media manipulation and strategies for pushing impeachment successfully through to proceedings in Congress --- AND in the legislatures of New Hampshire, New Jersey, Vermont etc. too. Starting at 9pm in the east allows this to be a free phone call for most cell phone users, but charges will apply to those of us forced to use land line phones.

This Friday (02/22/2008) at 9AM ten of us from SVIC will meet with our favorite Congressperson -- Zoe Lofgren for 30 minutes at San Jose office. That said, it would be awesome to have other dedicated impeachment minded folks outside her office from say 8:30AM to 10AM getting as many cars to HONK as humanly possible. This way, while we're chatting with Zoe about how much other folks want Impeachment Hearings besides us, for every HONK she hears we could just smile at her.

P.S., And, as always, we would love for you to join us for our normally scheduled "Honk for Impeachment" protest Friday, RAIN or SHINE, also outside her office from 3PM to 5PM making as much noise as possible.

Announcing a Public Forum With Maine’s 1st Congressional District Candidates

PORTLAND, ME - February 18 - The future of the U.S. Constitution and the role of Congress will be discussed by the Candidates for Congress vying to replace Tom Allen representing Maine’s First Congressional District. John Nichols, Washington correspondent for The Nation magazine, will set the stage at the forum by addressing the constitutional issues that have been created during the current Bush-Cheney Administration. The forum will be held on Tuesday evening, February 26, at 7 PM at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 425 Congress Street in Portland. The public is invited and will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Milwaukee Impeachment Committee

At 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2008, the Milwaukee Impeachment Committee (MIC) will hold a press conference at the main entrance of the Midwest Airlines Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Milwaukee. The purpose of this event is to remind the Democratic presidential candidates of their oaths to defend the Constitution, which includes holding President Bush and Vice-President Cheney accountable for their abuse of executive powers. We will distribute copies of George McGovern’s statement in favor of impeachment to press members and the public, and we will be available to answer questions from the press.
