DC: MEET BUGLIOSI IN PERSON ON THE LOCK-UP-BUSH TOUR

Vincent Bugliosi prosecuted Charles Manson. He is the author of bestsellers including "Helter Skelter" and his latest: "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder." In his new book, Bugliosi makes a devastating, well documented case that President George W. Bush is guilty of the murder of U.S. soldiers as a result of the lies he told to justify the invasion of Iraq, and can be prosecuted by any state attorney general or county prosecutor.

ME, Bath: Maine Veterans for Peace Protest of "Aegis" Christening

Doris Haddock, Granny D, walked across America in support of campaign finance reform (1999-2000). Her trip, begun shortly before her 89th birthday, lasted 14 months and covered 3,200 miles.

Granny D, who lives in New Hampshire, is coming to Bath on Saturday, October 18 to speak at the Maine Veterans for Peace (VfP) protest against another Navy Aegis ship "Christening". Instead of celebrating another "destroyer" VfP plans to christen a peace ship that day called the "USS Granny D."

Another speaker on October 18 will be the first BIW worker ever to address a peace rally at the production facility.

DC: Resist AFRICOM Protest

International Peace Operations Association's (IPOA) is holding their annual meeting in Washington DC.

If you don't know who IPOA is, don't be fooled by the word "peace" in their name. They are a coalition of mercenary groups (including DynCorp International) and this year, they have turned their sight on Africa.

"Engaging Africom" is the entire focus of the conference this year. Africom is the newest US attempt to militarily further colonize the continent of Africa (and gain access to natural resources, control governments, militarize aid, etc).

Professor Donna Rhea, Government Faculty at HCC Northwest College

"It is hard to imagine .. a documentary... more important to the civic life of the nation." (Baltimore Sun) A nonpartisan, clear-eyed look at the secrecy, cronyism and incompetence of elections in present-day America as it captures a citizen's movement intent on taking back elections - and DEMOCRACY ITSELF. Documents American citizens investigating anomalies and irregularities with ‘e-voting’ (electronic voting) systems that occurred during America’s 2000 and 2004 elections, especially in Volusia County, Florida.

Nominated for an Emmy award for Outstanding Investigative Journalism.
