"The Stand" is about teenagers protesting the war in Iraq by walking out of school. A cast of spirited and conscious teens fed up with the frivolity of Grease, Hair Spray & High School Musical make the case: our Department of Defense feeds on the ignorance and passivity of “the people” twelve years socialized by the Department of compulsory mis-Education.

All peace-related groups are welcome and encouraged to table at any and all performances.

Wiretapping Immunity Vote

I called Mr. Blumenauer this morning and spoke to someone on the other line. He will vote no, she said after I asked him to do so. That is vote no. I am honestly frightened of the precedent we set if in fact our national legislatures are allowed to grant large over-arching organizations retroactive immunity for illegal actions. What happened to illegal actions being.....illegal?

Stop Funding the War!

TOWN HALL

Sunday, April 20th

There will be a town hall meeting in Portland on Sunday April 20th as part of a national movement to try to stop the funding, AGAIN, of this madness called, "The Occupation of Iraq." The town hall will be held at 4312 SE Stark (Friends Meeting House) from 6-8 PM.

We must make a record-----We, the people of Oregon tried everything to stop this madness! Come and speak! The event will be video taped and copies of the video will be hand delivered in the Portland area and mailed to the district offices of other Representatives. There will be copies sent to the local and national media.

Impeachment Committee

I am stunned to find no one yet from District 03 has begun work toward impeachment.

Our Representative is Earl Blumenauer.

We need to meet, get ourselves organized, learn about impeachment and the nationwide efforts underway..

Once we have a core group, we'll gather signatiures and finally, ask Earl Blumenauer to meet with us. We will explain our position and ask him to publicly endorse impeachment in Washington.
