Colorado Impeach Events http://ImpeachCO.com What You Can Do! from now 'till Nov '08

Fellow Coloradoans,

IF you care about the Constitution and the Separation Of Powers,

the need for Congress to remain a check on the president,

that Bush's new powers do not become precedent,

that our Country take a stand on the evils of the Cheney/Bush Administration

BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE (during or after the Democratic Convention Probably Will Be TOO Late)

You Must get involved and Make Your Voice Heard by our Congressmen. Now! Now! Now!

All incumbent Congressmen wishing to be re-elected and Current Congressmen who are Candidates for higher office (the Senate) are extremely vulnerable to Our Pressure from now until the election in November. YOU Just Have To Apply That Pressure.

You must get involved from now through the November election. Every week call, fax, or email your Congressman/woman and tell them to support immediate public hearings on impeachment in the House Judiciary Committee. Tell them about Florida Rep. Wexlers letter to the House Judiciary Committee (with over 228,000 voter signatures) requesting immediate impeachment hearings.

See http://WexlerWantsHearings.com You should Sign up too. You can also email the entire membership of the Judiciary Committee with just one email message at http://judiciary.house.gov/Contact.aspx

Tell your Colorado US Rep to become a co-sponsor on both of Kucinich's impeach Cheney Resolutions: H Res 333 and H Res 799 (H Res 333 has 25 co-sponsors now, with a new one on 2008)

Most Americans are terrified of Cheney becoming president so we must first have hearings to deal with the evidence for impeaching Cheney. The evidence will lead to Bush eventually but we must support hearings for Cheney first. Doing resolutions to impeach Bush will probably go nowhere and may do great harm to the impeachment effort.

H Res 333 now has more co-sponsors than the Nixon Impeachment resolution I'm told.

It will be inexcuseable for our Congressmen/women to avoid dealing with impeachment (at least in the form of advocating public impeachment hearings).

Many of us will be reminding the Base and the Public of their failure to stand up for impeachment during every election campaign (with really big signs) throughout the rest of their political careers.

We have complete contact info for all Colorado Congressmen on our website at

 http://ImpeachCO.com/html/us-officials.html

This includes maps of their district so you will know where to distribute impeach flyers. They are Very Vulnerable to this type of pressure. Get moving!

PUSH YOUR CONGRESSMAN TO Demand Public Hearings.

It is Way Past Time for pleasantries, polite discussion and deference to our US Representatives. We put them in office. They owe us. Ignoring us is their arrogance showing.

They took an Oath to protect the US Constitution against all enemies including "domestic". It it time to Call Them Out on this. Haunt them in all public appearances and demand they honor their oath of office.

Our group, the IMPEACH COLORADO COALITION at ImpeachCO.com

is an umbrella group for any/all Colorado impeachment activist individuals or groups who care to work together to protect our Constitution. We have done over 100 impeachment events in Denver in the last year.

We eagerly await Colorado activist groups to join with us in advocating for immediate impeachment hearings. Let us know of your local impeachment efforts, activities and events and we will list them in our Colorado Impeach Calendar and do a write up on your group on our website. We will attend your events as often as possible. Please attend our events as often as you can. Thanks in advance.

Please go to our website at:

http://ImpeachCO.com

and download either a Word version or a Open Office version of our Impeach Flyer and have copies made and

get your friends to help you distribute them by handing them out at busy pedestrian traffic locations or by placing them on windshields of cars in your community.

These flyers can help recruit volunteers to impeach and get your local group more members.

This needs to be done Now!

Let us know of any local Colorado impeachment event or activity and we will do a write up on it on the website. Email me.

The website is updated often during each day. Check it daily for new impeach info.

Check the Calendar before you leave for any event as Cancellations or Changes will be announced up to a half hour before the event. There is a weather link on each Denver event.

Thanks in advance for volunteering to protect your Constitution.

John H Kennedy, Denver, CO

Organizer of the

Impeach Colorado Coalition

 http://ImpeachCO.com

Email: protestinthestreet@yahoo.com

There is no time left to waste. Get out in the streets.

Contact Congress. LOUDLY, SCREAM at them! Just Do It

PS: For your information I am a 42 year straight ticket Democratic voter who is fed up with Congressmen/women, Democrats included, that mostly do nothing and refuse to honor their oath of office to protect the Constitution.

..

WHY Would You want to attend
Wednesdays events?

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for You to do something for your country. Something you'll feel good about and proud of
for a lifetime.

Senator Tupa wants your advice on the wording of his bill.

You may want to study the wording of Tupa's Bill:

This is the 'Model Resolution Language' for the bill
at Progressive States Network
http://www.progressivestates.org/content/524/#5

and this is Tupa's Bill:Colorado Senate Bill SJM07-002
( Link will download the file, you need to open it in Acrobat pdf file reader)
http://www.leg.state.co.us/clics/clics2007a/csl.nsf/fsbillcont/E3D42EB94...

Please compare the two and note the much stronger language in the 'Model Bill'.

--------------------------------------------------

3. Email me a note, please, at protestinthestreet@yahoo.com

anyone, who in particular, any comments you might have,
Anti-Escalation Rally @ Colorado State Capital & Meeting w/ Romanoff on escalation.

Anti-Escalation Rally @ State Capital & Meeting w/ Romanoff to urge him to allow debate on Stopping Bush's Iraq War Escalation (Visibility / Sign Waving)

Tuesday, February 27 at 1:30 PM
Duration: 1 hour

Host: John Kennedy & Max Tyler

Colorado State Capital (Denver, CO)
Lincoln and Colfax
Denver, CO 80203

On West Sidewalk, center of block down to Corner of 14th & Lincoln

Bring signs if you have them, Stop the Escalation, De-Escalate, Block the Surge, Stay out of Iran, Impeach Bush & Cheney, Anti-War, Anti-Escalation, Anti Bush Admin, etc. We will have available FREE signs for those without a sign.

Stay on the sidewalk in one line next to the roadway, stay off the grass, the Capital Steps & out of the street, Do Not Block Sidewalks as pedestrians & bicyclists have the right of way, obey all instructions of the Capital's State Troopers or Police, report all such instructions to your group leader ASAP.

Spread Out along the street, position yourself about 6-8 feet fron the next activist so the motorists can more easily read your own sign. Greet pedestrians & bicyclists politely. Wave often at, make eye contact with and smile at motorists (this is important, it really helps get more response for our cause).

Parking suggestions: South along either Broadway or Lincoln or a side street to the South. Have coins for the parking meter.

Event sparked by the following ProgressNow post: http://www.progressnowaction.org/page/community/post/maxtyler/C2v5
and a response: http://www.progressnowaction.org/page/community/post/maxtyler/C2v5#comme...

Some members of our group will legally enter the Capital to to attend the Open House that Romanoff has every Tuesday at 2 pm, to try to persuade him to to join with the Senate and pass a joint resolution opposing the escalation in Iraq and the imminent attack on Iran.

Some of us would like to add having the Legislature debate creating a Resolution to instruct our US Representatives in Congress to start Impeachment proceedings ( as other States, such as New Mexico is doing), but that may be a matter for another day).

CO01 Have a Weekly Vigil For Impeachment at Your State Capital... Do it in all 50 states

It has been suggested to me that we in CO01 need to form a Congressional district Impeachment committee.

I am willing to do that ( if it hasn't been done), or join with any and all if it is in the works. whatever we do about it I wanted to pass on to all of you whate our group is doing in Colorado and attempting to do Nationally.

We hope you all will seriously consider Joining our Weekly State Capital Impeach Vigil project.

We think that our US Representatives in Congress from the Speaker on down may hope they can ignore Impeachment and perhaps it will just go away. The public will forget.

Because of that another local Dem, Ken DeBacker and I are organizing 'Weekly Vigils To Impeach' at each State Capital in the Nation. We plan to follow that up ( with the help of all local groups) with Weekly Vigils at (at least) the main 'in District' office of all Democratic US Congressional Representatives.

Currently we do a Weekly Vigil To Impeach (and Stop The Iraq War) at Colorado's State Capital at 14th & Lincoln.

We also do a Weekly Vigil To Impeach at the office of US Rep. Diana DeGette. We have been doing these Vigils for three weeks now and the motorist and pedestrian response is terrific. The public wants Impeachment. Both Bush and Cheney. Soon.

We have been at each of these locations weekly regardless of the weather.

We are working with other local groups to help staff additional US Rep Vigils at the offices of all the other Democratic US Reps in Colorado.

We are also working to coordinate our activities with the projects of other groups... such as US Rep Office sit ins, lobbying and others. The project has been very well received so far. I believe the assistance of other groups will be forthcoming.

Some urls that you might be interested in are:

http://1stProtestInTheStreet.Org

We are installing a new donated web server, the new version of the website focused on national cooperation on Weekly Vigils won't be up for at least a few days, after the new server comes up.

Our Group on ProgressNowAction.Org
http://www.progressnowaction.org/page/group/1stProtestinTheStreetOrg

My Blog on ProgressNowAction.Org

Our MeetUp: We restarted the defunct Denver Impeach Bush MeetUp
http://impeachbush.meetup.com/372/

see my latest blurb there
http://impeachbush.meetup.com/372/boards/view/viewthread?thread=2728954

We as a group are willing to work with anyone to see that Impeachment gets done. Let us know your feelings on the matter.

We do however not want to debate the need for Impeachment at all. We are just too busy organizing this. For us the technical aspect of Impeachment is best left to those who file the House Bill of Impeachment in our name.

When you come to work with us you are dealing with 'the Choir'. We are convinced that for the political safety of our children and grand children, all future Presidents Must Fear Impeachment.

The only way to ensure that is to either Impeach Bush and Cheney or scare them so badly that future Presidents will think twice before attempting to expand Presidential powers.

We are in the process of contacting as many as possible of national and local activists groups and inviting them to join us. They help with the work but they get all the credit.

I am also posting this in two other Impeachment forums. I hope that is allowed.

This is the first time I've posted here so bear with me. thanks jk
