I just logged in here but I have no idea how to create a town hall forum

Media

In light of the media’s inability to report responsibly on the most pressing issues of our day – the Iraq war, the economy, illegal activities of the Bush Administration, climate change, etc. – I propose a one-day mass media boycott on April 1st. This includes all television, radio and print media. Economically, this may not impact them much, but it may serve to suggest our unity in dissatisfaction with their efforts and behaviors and – who knows? – if this proves fairly easy, we might consider a longer boycott!

freespeacht tv program

Did anyone out there happen to see the program on freespeech t.v. on or about Dec. 20, a very enthusiastic gentleman talking about the many reasons for impeaching g.w. bush? Educating the Country

There have been many efforts recently to get the attention of politicians, but have there been adequate efforts to educate the media and the public?  Political leaders will not budge without the public.

Moving impeachment beyond partisanship

Dear Friends,

We are poised to reap rewards from the extraordinary efforts of the few who launched the campaign for regime change in America. Here in Chapel Hill, NC we have wrestled with the issue of partisanship in regard to the impeachment movement. Our most progressive churches cannot hold rallies or host meetings for PDAmerica or Democrats.com CDIC’s. But they can sponsor impeachment rallies allied to organizations that are Constitutional rather than partisan.

Impeachment is fundamentally a Constitutional issue. If impeachment was primarily a partisan issue, Republicans would not have forced the resignations of Nixon and Agnew in ’74. We need to find ways to harness the rising tide of 60%+/- of independents and 30% of Republicans who are warming to impeachment as the only way to stop the rogue Bush/Cheney regime.

minimum wage

Raising the minimum wage to a paltry $7-something an hour is ridiculous. A minimum wage which is less than a living wage keeps the middle class in the position of supporting the underpaid so that business-owners can continue to reap obscene profits, & a business which can't sustain itself while paying a living wage is an exploiter, not an employer.

Tying tax-rates for those in the uppermost brackets would automatically lead to decent wages for workers, since the minimum would then determine the highest incomes. For example, all personal income in excess of 3 times the minimum wage would be taxed at an 85% rate, all personal income exceeding 4 times the minimum would be subject to a 95% rate, & all income over 10 times the minimum would be taxed at 99%. Individual income between the minimum & the 3-times level would be taxed on a graduated basis.

Movie About Gay Marriage

Interesting that A&E is showing “Wedding Wars” so soon after the elections – it’s funny, but deals pretty heavily with gay marriage. Has anyone heard about this?
