What does the Speaker have to hide?
Rumor is; Speaker Pelosi was made aware of more than one illegal action prior to the Bush Adminstrations criminal act, and SHE chose to do or say nothing to stop it.
If it's TRUE, that could explain why she refuses to hold the Bush Adminstration accountable for their criminal acts.
Has anyone else heard anything about this?
There's No Such Thing as a "post-inaugural" impeachment
This campaign is based on a fallacious legal assumption. There is no such thing as a "post-inaugural" impeachment. Impeachment is solely a device to remove a president from office. That is all it is. Once the president is out of office, the process is over and the issue is moot.
At this point, it is pointless to be urging legislators to impeach anyone. Congress isn't even coming back into session until January, about two weeks before the inauguration. All that Congress will do in that time is organize itself, including Senate confirmation hearings on Obama's appointees.
The impeachment train has left the station. Calls for a non-existent "post-inaugural" impeachment only make progressives look ignorant.
Why won't YOUR representative sign on for impeachment?
I've read lots of reasons why particular congressional representatives won't support impeachment. Some are quite speculative and personal about a representative, and others are quite general, like "He/she supports Bush all the way." Others politics over the Constitution.
So, here's a chance to tell what you know about why your congressional representative won't support impeachment.
- Do they (or their family members) have business dealings that could be compromised?
- Could Bush have dirt on them?
- Are they worried about retaining their congressional seat?
- Are they afraid not to maintain "party discipline" for fear of retribution from "Impeachment is off the table, Nancy?"
- In short, what could their motivation be for not supporting impeachment after Friday's House Judiciary Committee hearing?
Be sure to include the name and if possible the congressional district of your representative.
State of the Union Address
Hey there, kids.
Im a TV/film editor from NYC, and Im usually not one for mixing business with politics, but that State of the Union address was crossed the borders of insulting to the intelligence straight into the territories of Downright Offensive. So since the past 7 years the only way I could properly describe our presidency is in terms of warped, twisted cartoon characters, I figured Id cut something that put it into those terms.
So if you've got two minutes, here's an Honest Re-Do of the State of the Union Address, from our favorite Impeach-ee.

Hi! I'm brand new! Can someone tell me how to view people's comments, people who signed Wexler's petition to Impeach Cheney?
Hi! I'm a brand new member, and I just signed Wexler's petition to begin Kucinich's Impeachment proceedings against Cheney in the House Judiciary Committee. I would like to take a look t it! I'm interested in reading other people's thoughts on the matter too; what they wrote on the petition! But I can't seem to find a link to it! Can someone please tell me how to get to the page where I can read some of the signee's comments? That would be great! Thanks so much! (I first heard about Wexler on the Randi Rhoades show on Air America. So even though I live far away from Florida, I have an appreciation for him.)
Dumbest Democrat: Hoyer or Pelosi?
I don't think Steny Hoyer is the dumbest Democrat in history. I think Nancy Pelosi is. As proof, I submit her, "If anyone can prove why Bush should be impeached" BS. If she doesn't know, then she has got to be the dumbest person in Washington DC at least.
Impeachment - names in Congressional Record
Just a quick question. Does anyone know if Kucinich has handed in any of our names to be listed in the Congressional Record supporting impeachment? I have scoured the Congressional Record and I don't see anything about it.
Criminal Contempt
The Tulsa World story of 7/26/07, "Panel acts to cite two Bush advisers", reports
the House Judiciary Committee voted to begin criminal contempt proceedings...
