memo to Bushophiles: Grow up!
I recently received a (very) angry reply from a Bushophile about my comments on the Bush Policy institute. (Is Bush kiddding?) I love how defensive Bushophiles get whenever someone criticizes their "hero". Anyway, this reply was removed before I had a chance to respond, but for this particular respondent and all the other Bushophiles out there, something to chew, or, choke on:
You said that Bush had more personality and charm in his pinky finger than I have in my whole body, but if Bush's brain were as big as my pinky finger he'd be even more dangerous than he already is.
You and your Bushophile friends are constantly reminding everybody that Bush protected us after 9/11. That argument is just an attempt to distract us from the fact that it was the ineptitude of the Bush administration that caused the attacks in the first place. He didn't exactly prevent the first 9/11 did he?

The "War Time Funds" Bottomless Pit
Democrats in Congress are unveiling $94.2 billion in War-time funds for the Obama Administration to use in the middle-eastern wars left by the Bush Administration. However, in a turn from the rubber-stamp funding for Bush before 2006 it now appears as if Democrats such as David Obey are growing impatient sinking more money into the bottomless pit that was the "War on Terror".
House Democrats came through with more money to support our troops in the field than requested, but expressed reservations with the long-term viability of operations there:
House Democrats unveiled a $94.2 billion wartime spending bill Monday that adds $9.3 billion to White House requests but also reflects serious doubts about the long-term viability of U.S. commitments to Afghanistan and its neighbor Pakistan.

Today in the United States we are faced with many, many complex problems affecting not only
our present situation but also our future prospects for prosperity and well being. While we must
look forward in order to chart our course, we cannot do this without also being mindful of
where we have been, what path has led us to this present moment. In looking both back and
forward we have the opportunity to make amends for past missteps and mistakes and to restore
our commitment to the ideals and principles upon which our wonderful nation was founded.
There are so many issues dodging about these days. Any one of them could be sufficient to derail
our nation, our democratic republic. Among the candidates are the banking and financial

No Accountability?
For eight years we watched George W. Bush and his administration take us into unnecessary war, screw up our economy, violate our rights, and all the other things reasonable people like us resented and tried to change.
When the stories of torture came out, we could not stand it. We could not get a new President and Democratic Congress soon enough.
Now we have the Democratic President and all but two Democrats of the sixty necessary to control the Senate, and the President is resisting any holding of the Bush administration accountable for their terrible acts.
Why in the world would he back down from a campaign promise? How can he allow one of the cruelest insensitive Presidents ever to get away with it?
He says it would be taken as retribution and partisan.
Is Bush Kidding?
I hear that George W. Bush is working on creating the George W. Bush Policy Institute in Dallas, Texas. It's nice to see that Mr. Bush takes pre-school education so seriously.

Torture prosecutions
You cannot prosecute those who committed torture when they were told it was legal. You can only prosecute those who determined it was legal.
Tea Parties in Retrospect
All over the nation we just witnesses many tea parties. Tea meaning, Taxed Enough Already. In my own hometown of Paducah, Ky we witnessed one such spectacle. In the end we must ask ourselves just what did this really prove? These protests on spending and running up debt. Did all this fire and anger not spread up a little too late??
All over the country you had Republican politicians scrambling to be seen as fighting for "Conservative values". You heard them lecturing each other about "reckless spending" and "socialism". You never heard them looking at the real culprits, themselves. How many of them do you believe voted for George W. Bush twice??
The Case Against the Right
Just a quick hello. My name is Mike Brown, a.k.a. mikelefty22. The name refers to my being left-handed, both physically and politically :). Some of you may have seen my comments scattered all over the place. Please forgive me, but I'm still new to this site and am getting the hang of everything. My sympathies for the Democratic party, and my fierce opposition to the right, stems mostly from my upbringing. I was raised by a divorced, single mother, and spent my childhood watching my mother cry because we had no money. The reason we had no money was because Conservatives like Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush not only left my mother out of the economic equation, but actually blamed her for her situation, justifiying this socio-economic discrimination with their archaic, narrow-minded Christian beliefs. Needless to say, both my mother and I regarded this as a slap in the face.

Letter to Illinois Senator Dick Durbin
Sir.
Just curious, did you see the torture memos? I did. In case you did not, are you even going to bother to look?
You people support illegal spying on us Americans but now you are crying because they are spying on you? Give me a freakin break.
But regarding the torture memos. What are you going to do, give us a bunch of drama and theatre and in the end, do nothing? Again?
Oh sure, I voted as a Democrat but really, I can see no difference so why did I even vote at all.
Do Not, I repeat, Do Not solicit me for any political contributions or votes until you can somehow prove yourself worthy.
