Steal Back Your Vote

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Greg Palast explain how Republicans are trying to steal this election, and offer valuable advice how to steal it back:

Contrary to Mr. McCain's assertions, the real threat to democracy is from the GOP itself. ACORN has served as a good distraction from Republican efforts to steal the vote from hundreds of thousands of legitimate voters, a genuine threat that has received almost no media attention.

They're stealing your vote, but you can steal it back. Here are some steps you should take to protect your vote. First, avoid the November 4th minefield. Voters, wherever possible, should vote early and in person. Where feasible, avoid mailing in your ballot, many are rejected for flimsy reasons, and first time voters in many states must include a photocopy of ID. However, if you have a mail-in ballot, don't throw it away. Follow directions, use the correct postage (that's an error that cost a hundred thousand votes last time) and, if possible, walk it in to your elections office.

At the polling station, should you find yourself one of the 2.7 million purged, or your ID rejected, then do your best to resist a "provisional" ballot--one third of which are not counted. Return with proper ID, or call 1-800-OUR VOTE for legal assistance. And never just walk away discouraged. That's just what they want you to do.

Brad Friedman continues to do heroic work exposing hackable and defective voting machines. The worst machine seems to be the ES&S iVotronic touchscreen, which has been seen flipping votes (usually D to R, but occasionally the other way) in WV, TN, TX and MO. Of course, as Brad always points out, no one knows what kind of vote-switching is going on unseen inside the touchscreen computer hardware and software. Here's Brad's advice if you see a voting machine problem:

  • Call poll supervisors to observe the problem.
  • Fill out a problem report.
  • Refuse to vote on that machine.
  • Request that the machine be taken out of service.
  • Get a serial number of the machine if possible (may be difficult in many cases).
  • Tell other voters in line which machine it was and that they should NOT vote on that machine!
  • Report it to county/town election office.
  • Report it to the Secretary of State.
  • Call local reporters and tell them the story.
  • Call voter problem hotlines (eg. 866-MYVOTE1 and 866-OUR-VOTE) and report it.
  • Contact bloggers and Election Integrity websites.
  • Raise holy hell.
  • REMINDER: Please bring a video camera/cell phone camera when you go to vote so you can document these problems on video tape, and then upload them to VideoTheVote.org and YouTube!

GOP stolen Elections

My belief in Voter Fraud is because our Presidential National Election is for the Political Parties and not for “We the People”. They control every aspect of the Election, from counting to who has the right to Vote; the Parties control everything. The voters should control it; it has to be for every Citizen of the United Stated has his or her right to Vote and not for either Party to purge Voters by a typographical error, or what ever; every State has its own rules of voting, and most States say that you have to be a resident, but some people who are resident of two States have voted two times, once in each State, this is pure Voter Fraud. This didn’t just happen with a few voters but the numbers in the Hundreds, the American voters are basically honest, but a few bad apples have spoiled it for honest voters.
Our voting system is in turmoil because be have tried to use computers and they don’t have a paper trial to be able to check Voters, and our Government has spent millions of Dollars on trying to speed the voting up but have slowed it to a snails pace with Political Parties standing around voting polls running interferences to the voters. We do need a Fair change in the way our elect systems are being run, bad management of our election system is about 50% of the problem and 40% Party interference and 10% ignorance on the part of the Voter.
The problem comes up every Election and nobody wants to question our rotten voting system, on every Election the Government spends or wastes millions of Dollars on a broken Computer system. Our rights of a Citizen are to have Free and Fair Election, but it has ended up with not being Free and Fair.
We are loosing our Freedom of Rights; right at our Election places and we are not smart enough to realize it. “We the People” do have a Right to a Vote! And after the singing and dancing of the candidates the Polling places belong to us, not the Political Parties.
After everybody has Voted we will see all the troubles come forth!

You are forgetting that

You are forgetting that pesky old "piece of paper," called the Constitution of the United States of America (as amended).

The various states have always determined how they will manage the voting process, while the Federal Government only guarantess the right to vote (with some restrictions imposed).

The State governments are the ones who inject partisan politics into the process, through their local State representatives, and their Secretaries of State. The Florida 2000 election, and Katherine Harris, are a good example of how blatant partisanship can sway an election.

Until Federal Election Laws, or at least "guidelines," are enacted which will standardize procedures in every State, the problem will be with us forever, as it always has been. See this article for more information:

"REMINDER: Please bring a video camera/cell phone camera when you go to vote so you can document these problems on video tape, and then upload them to VideoTheVote.org and YouTube!"

just a quick comment about the cell phones our county voting place, was on Cell phone patrol they were making everyone turn them off and even caught one man talking on his and acted as if he were brandishing a weapon. otherwise the process seemed fairly quick and it was the first time Iv voted on a touchscreen voting machine, the whole time I kept wondering if my vote would somehow be changed or if it would be counted accurately. also I should note this was the first time I ever had to go through three check points in order to vote. and show picture ID.

This one Voted for "that one" !

GO OBAMA/BIDEN!!!!!

Long time no see! :-)

I'm glad you voted early.

Thanks so much for the tips at the polling place.

My SO is working as an inspector at one polling place on
the UCI campus on election day.

The inspector's job is to make sure the computers are sealed
during voting hours
( yep- OC is using touch screens, too! :-( )
and that the paper receipts MATCH the votes cast.

Voters can verify their votes cast on the paper receipt
before hitting the *Vote*button.

So , looks like these voting machines will be OK.
( I NEVER thought I'd hear myself say that)

It's so good to see you here.

:-)

Thanks, Bob.

This is valuable information voters will need
when they vote.

ANY suspicious activity or discrepancy should be reported.

hey kwahlf, nice to see you too :)....and yes it is crazy to be saying stuff like that I agree. and absolutely report anything suspicious, I'm glad that thanks to this site and others I knew what to be cautious of. that is pretty cool that your county has paper receipts, that's a step in the right direction I think :)
