I am struggling with a conflict concerning which direction my future activism should take. On the one hand,I fully understand the reluctance of the leading Democrats at this time to engage in a move to impeach Bush and Cheney. They have to reestabllish themselves as worthy of leadership in the many issues facing them as they gain control of congress. On the other hand, impeachment is a tool granted to the people to deal with crimes and other illegal actions taken by the president. I believe that we must organize from the ground up a movement to impeach; if it is strong enough it will eventually empower the Democratic leaders to respond to the will of the people thereby invalidating any accusation of "revenge" by the leaders as they take office.
