Sarah Palin

The Pit Bull Wears Prada

NBC’s Campbell Brown expressed her view that women are held to a double standard in response to media reports that the Republican National Committee spent upwards of $150,000 to outfit Sarah Palin while she is on the campaign trail plugging the McCain-Palin economic plan.

The “plan” so far as we can read from McCain's latest campaign offering, says he wants to create job opportunities for Americans. No mention of how these “opportunities” will be created nor of tax cuts for the middle class. The only plan is the same as the $1.35 trillion tax cut for those that Bush pushed through in his first term for the wealthiest 1% of the population. Both McCain and Bush want to make those tax cuts and others that were rammed through a Republican-controlled congress over two years ago permanent.

$150G From GOP For Fashions For Palins?

Oct. 22, 2008 (CBS) Since she's been on the campaign trail, Sarah Palin has received a lot of attention over her wardrobe, her hair, even her glasses.

Now, Politico.com is reporting the Republican National Committee has spent more than $150,000 on clothes and accessories for Palin and her family.

Politico says the expenditures began early last month, soon after Palin was picked by John McCain to be his running mate.

Palin frequently wears expensive designer clothes on the campaign trail now, points out CBS News correspondent Meg Oliver.

Why I'm Voting for Barack Obama on November 4

By Dave Lindorff

Okay, I was going to vote for Ralph Nader this November 4.

It was an easy decision. I live in Pennsylvania, which is now,
according to all the polls, reliably in the Obama column, with the
Democratic candidate holding an insurmountable lead in the polls of 14
percent over Republican John McCain—enough to overcome even the most
devious Republican vote suppression techniques and voting machine
chicanery.

What McCain and Palin Mean for Women

Pinocchio Palin Lies About Troopergate Ethics Violations

The Troopergate investigation found Palin "abused her power by violating ... the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act."

So how did Palin respond? By lying to the Corporate Media!

Well, I’m very very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing … any hint of any kind of unethical activity there. Very pleased to be cleared of any of that.

Cleared? Hell no, she was cited!

White is black, up is down, war is peace, slavery is freedom.

That's the 1984 Republican Party in a nutshell.

Is Palin Betraying McCain for 2012?

Remember how many news cycles were devoted to the idea that Hillary and Bill Clinton were quietly and treachorously undermining Barack Obama so Hillary could run in 2012 without Obama in the White House? Well it looks like that shoe is on the Republican foot. Sarah Baxter of the Sunday Times of London writes,

With his electoral prospects fading by the day, Senator John McCain has fallen out with his vice-presidential running mate about the direction of his White House campaign.

[snip]

Palin, 44, has led the character attacks on Obama in the belief that McCain may be throwing away the election and her chance of becoming vice-president. Her supporters think that if the Republican ticket loses on November 4, she should run for president in 2012.

Bill Kristol Adds New Major Blunder to Nation's Worst Record of Political Screwups

Palin's Talent Scout

No wonder Bill Kristol has remained so positive about her while other neocons have fled. He helped push her to the veep ticket-and won out against Karl Rove.

In June 2007, a cruise liner sponsored by the political journal The Weekly Standard set anchor in Ju neau, Alaska. Editors and guests of the publication were then treated to a reception with Governor Sarah Palin. It was a moment of discovery to equal Hernando Cortez's landing at Veracruz. A writer for London's Daily Telegraph interviewed one of the participants in the Juneau junket about the meeting with Palin:

"She's bright and she's a blank page. She's going places and it's worth going there with her." Asked if he sees her as a "project," the former official said: "Your word, not mine, but I wouldn't disagree with the sentiment."

TrooperGate: Palin Caught Lying Again

Sarah Palin said her firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan had nothing to do with his refusal to fire her ex-brother-in-law. But the NY Times reports

In all, the commissioner and his aides were contacted about Mr. Wooten three dozen times over 19 months by the governor, her husband and seven administration officials, interviews and documents show.

Palin's vindictiveness is perfectly in character, according to Chris Bowers:

The McCain-Palin Mob

bloggerinterrupted went to a Sarah Palin rally in Ohio and talked to McCain-Palin supporters afterwards. The interviews were scary - which is why McCain prevents reporters from talking to them.

Lots of McCain-Palin supporters firmly believe Obama is a terrorist. Why? Obviously there are no reasons.
