Karl Rove's LAST Dirty Trick: RoboLies

Karl Rove has been bragging for weeks about his "72-hour program" to swing the elections, which predict a Democratic takeover of Congress.

Now we know what it is: a dirty trick campaign using robocalls.

The calls are made to Democrats and swing voters at all times of day or night to make them angry. And they pretend to be from the Democrat ("Hello, I'm calling with information about Lois Murphy"). If you hang up, they call back 7-8 times, and each time you hear the Democrat's name, to get you angry at him or her. If you stay on, you get to hear a scathing attack on the Democrat.

Karl Rove's whole career has been devoted to dirty tricks. In 2002, his dirty trick was to force Congress to vote shortly before Election Day for the Iraq War based on two months of White House lies about WMD's and Al Qaeda ties. That dirty trick has cost the lives of 2,834 brave young Americans (16 so far in November), $2 trillion in debt to our children and grandchildren, and unleashed massive bloodshed in Iraq.

It's too late for legal action or even newspaper stories. If you receive one of these calls, write down the time and candidate and call every radio and TV show you can and urge everyone listening to vote against the disgusting Republican dirty tricksters. And forward this email to everyone you know so they aren't fooled by Karl Rove's dirty trick.

Let's make this Karl Rove's LAST campaign by voting ALL Republicans out of office.

Unfortunately not the last dirty trick-

See here... GOP in Westchester, NY filed papers over the weekend to prevent 5000 residents from voting....

My daughter is getting so angry!

She's got politicians calling her on her phone on Sundays and it's getting on her last raw nerve. I still don't know how she got on the list but I'm not on it - but there you go. If it helps any, she still asked me when we're going to go vote tomorrow. She says that she still doesn't expect that her vote will be counted but that if the republicans retain power, she wants to feel justified with the rage she's sure to feel.

This is nothing

Compared to what I was (and still am) expecting, this is nothing. If this is Karl's dirtiest trick, i'd be sort of disappointed in him just for the overall lack of effort.

Actually, the robocalls are a cover for what is to come...

But for the first time since 2000, we have our countermeasures in place to fight the Rovian tide.

The 800 stormtroopers dispatched by the Dept. of Justice are more than likely going to be placed where they can challenge Dem voters and slow down the process.

There will be lots of stuff breaking all day long. Best of luck to everyone. If we do carry the day, then at last our checks and balances are back in force.

Let the investigations and subpoenas fly.

I passed this blog posting to WAMC,

Two blog links were referred to in the original post on Robo-Calling. I sent a cut & paste segment to Pub. Radio WAMC in Albany. By evening, WAMC's Julia Taylor reported it, from the angle of past-Orleans member John Hall, who is running for Congress. Apparently, Hall had received annoying "robo-calls" critical of himself!

Later in the evening, NPR ran a piece on the annoying robo-calls. Point being? democrats.com/blog is being heard, and is a launch pad for other journalists.

Well it's about dadgum time!

This site has been covering the news since before the big heist/getaway.  Let's see if we've got any bloodhound democrats who can uncover some of the ugly the BA is going to attempt to use on us today...
