Vicious Republican Purge of Incumbents Continues!

The Corporate Media continues to attack Connecticut Democratic voters for viciously "purging" Joe Lieberman - and lying about Ned Lamont's position on Iraq. Yet the "purge" of Republican incumbents by Republican voters goes unnoticed by the same media.

Gov. Murkowski Concedes Defeat in Alaska

Republican Gov. Frank Murkowski, stung by accusations of arrogance and stubbornness, lost his bid for a second term Tuesday after polling last in a three-way GOP primary...

His approval ratings have skidded over the past four years because of much-criticized decisions such as appointing his daughter to his U.S. Senate seat and purchasing a state jet after his request for the aircraft was denied by both the federal government and state Legislature.

In the campaign's final days, Murkowski was also stung by the partial shutdown of the Prudhoe Bay oil field, where production was cut in half earlier this month because of leaks and corrosion. The governor's opponents accuse his administration of allowing the oil company BP PLC to go years without proper maintenance of its facilities.

Cubin’s Weak Showing in Wyoming Could be Warning Sign

Republican Barbara Cubin, Wyoming’s sole House member, won her primary election Tuesday and is favored to win a seventh term this November. But her underwhelming showing against a little-known opponent suggested that she could be vulnerable in November in a state that usually leans strongly to Cubin’s party...

Cubin has struggled to win unanimous support among party members, in part because some party leaders think she has not adequately dealt with the state’s pressing issues, including the prevalence of methamphetamine. The Wyoming Tribune-Eagle newspaper, in an unenthusiastic endorsement of Cubin, said she showed a “lack of leadership” but was “the best that the Republican Party has to offer at this time.”

GOP voters are holding their incumbents accountable for their failures in office - just as Connecticut Democratic voters did. There's a word for that radical idea: Democracy.

Proves Lieberman was a Republican

The shameless comments from the Neo-Cons showing their contempt at the Connecticut elections at Lieberman LOSING, just proves Lieberman was and is a Repukican. Why else would these people be so big on boo-hooing his LOSS?

And it's good to hear there are still some people calling themselves Republicans who have the moral courage (did I say that?) to take other Republicans to task when they are in the wrong.
