ProsecutorGate in a Nutshell
Hunter sums it all up:
I imagine somewhere it might be considered funny that the entire Department of Justice can't figure out why the hell a handful of U.S. Attorneys were fired when they themselves fired them, after spending over a year arranging for it, and that they must continually revise their statements on the matter because their past statements keep being demonstrated to be bullshit. But in that the entire premise of the Bush administration is that the entire American population is made up of morons who would actively believe that aforementioned lying bullshit, I'm not exactly sure where the joke is.
Of course if we had journalists who were not as corrupt as Bush and the Republican Party, we would never have gotten Bush in the first place.
All Americans needed to know in 2000 was that Bush had deserted the Texas Air National Guard in 1972 after he was grounded for "fear of flying," and Bush would have lost 50 states.
But Karen Hughes, Harriet Miers and Dan Bartlett scrubbed all the records except one, and the Corporate Media (led by the Pentagon Post and the NY Times) aided and abetted the charade, pretending a single torn unintelligible document proved Bush "fulfilled his obligation." Let history show this is the document that put George W. Bush in the White House:

Bush Military Record: Tattered, Name Redacted ...
And over 3,200 of our courageous fellow Americans, our military, have died for shrub's lieS?
This name-redacted doc shows that someone, (nameless and without a SSAN), got 32 points for inactive duty, got 9 points for active duty, and got 15 gratis ("gemme") points, for a total of 56 points. Or in other words, 47 of a possible 56 were effortless - Poppy's connections.
No wonder he had to stuff his codpiece with a sock to play pilot. Certainly qualifies for the nick of "Little Dick." All pun intended.
