On 5/10/07, Rep. Mark Udall betrayed the voters and troops of Colorado's 2nd Congressional District by voting to continue George Bush's disastrous Iraq War forever.

Democrats.com is looking for an "aggressive progressive" Democrat who will challenge Udall in a Democratic primary in 2008.

Udall isn't running

...for the house. He is planning to run for the Senate seat being vacated by Wayne Allard. Even more important to get him committed to end the war.

There are three good people vying for the Democratic nomination for Udall's seat: Colorado's current President of the Senate, Joan Fitz-Gerald; former State School Board Chair Jared Polis; and environmentalist Will Shafroth. Be sure to find out their positions on war funding.

I think Udall's okay

I have always liked Udall,
according to progressivepunch.com hes pretty good

here are his stats

Is Udall really a doll?

Rep. Mark Udall (D CO) has character; I have seen him show it, and he has a more respected name in American politics than Clinton or Bush. However, in addition to continuing funding to corporatocracy (further diseasing this nation), he specifically does not support Single Payer Not For Profit health care (he will not take insurance companies out of the picture, nor recognize that the problems they have wrought have caused mandated health care to now be obsolete anyway); and his Progressive ranking is (in the Bush political climate) only 50%. In this day and age, the voters who assume he is aggressive on the environment should expect him to be 80-90% (Sen. Russ Feingold and Lynn Wolsey of CA are ranked 90-95%, so it is possible). He has not supported impeachment proceedings against Dick Cheney, which he should be doing as a matter of straight ahead conscience and character, nor brought any such articles though he ought to; as Coloradans are letting him know to do by the hour. Mark Benner of Washington Co., CO, a schoolteacher, and Democratic Party leader, has indicated he would run to open the discussion to Progressive topics (a la Kucinich). The Colorado Democratic delegation is trying to win re-election with 20th century style races, against which sentiment is running higher each day; they refuse to recognize they are going to have to be seen as worthy of their offices by cleaning out - 100% out - the foreign controls and corporatocracy, the military in civil gov. and the class systemites, bring the U.S. soldiers home; and deny world dominion patriarchy the opportunity to continuously drive the U.S. one direction as Coloradans are turning the other way. Until Mark Udall is a sponsor of articles of impeachment, and stands opposed to funding another penny for sending the soldiers to Iraq or any other trumped up backyard pretense of the non-soldier Bush & Co., Mark Udall is as far from being a dependable Democratic representative, let alone a Progressive in the 21st century, as Colorado is from experiencing a heat wave before Bush team incites another out of country riot.

Udall goes Republican on FISA bill

Udall voted in favor of immunity for telecom companies. This is not a liberal vote in fact it is not a constitutional vote as this is clearly a violation of our 4th amendment rights. This man used to be a progressive but now since he started his run for the Senate he has gone way to the right, bluedog. This brings up an even bigger issue about this politician will he do anything for a vote? Is he another McCain who would sell his sole for an office? He has in my opinion shown he no longer has values and is just another worthless politician. We are so desperate in Colorado to have a progressive senator. Currently we have Salazar who is 20% progressive and Alard who is 0% progressive and now it looks like Udall may win this race and be another blue dog democrat.
