Presidential Primary Poll: April 2007
The 1st Quarter fundraising results are in, and Obama's results are amazing given that Hillary and Bill Clinton have built their national fundraising network over 20 years, while Obama built his overnight. And while Clinton slightly outraised Obama in dollars, Obama had twice as many donors. But John Edwards also did extremely well - all three candidates broke the previous Democratic record.
| Q1 | Net | Donors | |
| Clinton | $26M | $4.2M | 50,000 |
| Obama | $25M | $6.9M | 100,000 |
| Edwards | $14M | $3.3M | 40,000 |
| Richardson | $6M | ||
| Dodd | $4M | ||
| Biden | $3M |
But money doesn't elect Presidents, voters elect Presidents. So looking at announced candidates only (sorry Gore fans!), who do you want to be the Democratic nominee in 2008?
This is an Instant Runoff Vote (explained here), so rank you choices in order. If no candidate gets a majority in the first round, the losing candidate's votes are re-allocated to their second-place choices, and so on until someone gets a majority and a winner is declared.
The table below shows you the number of first place votes for each candidate in each round until one candidate emerged with a majority in the Final round.

Denis Kucinich
His voting record speaks volumes. He is pushing for universal health care, by endorsing (with Michael Moore and D-Michigan John Conyers) H.R. resolutin 676. He is in favor of impeachment of at least Dick. His idea of national security, is pulling our troops back to protect America. He voted against the war, and of all the candidates running, he serves my ideas best. The only thing that (that I Know of) I do not agree with him on, is the outlawing of handguns. Take a look at his home page, and look at his voting record. I think Ohio's Dennis Kucinich, is what we need in the white house today!
I, too, am for Dennis Kucinich
Dennis Kucinich IS the only one running for President that is not in the pockets of big business. Dennis is the only one that actually cares about people, this Country, and the Planet. He understands that we are all inter-connected. He is the only one that voted against the war from the beginning. Dennis Kucinich is the only one that has an actual plan to bring our Troops home and end this war. Dennis is the only one that has had meetings with NATO and other commanders, to put together a peace keeping team to move into Iraq, as we move (re-deploy) out. Dennis Kucinich is also the only one that advocates a work program in this Country--- a program to give people of this Country jobs: to rebuild the infrastructure, build new roads, schools, bridges, etc. Dennis is the only one that wants to make sure that all students get a 4-year FREE education, healthcare, start a Department of Peace and bring back the America we all loved and were proud of. Dennis Kucinich is the only person running that makes any sense. I,too, am for President Kucinich! Please wake up, America.
demo debate
1st of all,
I am ashamed that our field of candidates
had NOT ONE who would stand with Kucinich
to support the impeachment of Cheney.
Apparently, there is little support in the
mainstream for the defense of the Constitution and punishing Executive branch
criminality.
And the MSM's marginalization of Gravel,
Kucinich, and even Biden is not only
extremely premature but extraordinarily
damaging to the nation HEARING ALL POSSIBLE
ALTERNATIVES to "More of the same" in
Washington.
We need to hold our leaders AND the media
to account for their actions.
Neither upheld their responsibility to the
public to examine deeply the REASONING and
JUSTIFICATION for pre-emptively attacking
Iraq.
Until we hold them both TRULY ACCOUNTABLE,
nothing will truly change for our long-term
betterment.
Ethics
It is simply unethical to take funds from corporations to finance an election. How do the candidates who do so justify this? Kucinich is the only man I can honestly say has 'Presidential' ethics.
Why is it unethical?
I don't get it.

Pretty okay Flash animation, and Karl Rove as the Joker really takes the cake.
Check it out. :p
I posted this in response to the fact that the entire Super-Duper Friends team are made up of Democrat Presidential hopefuls.
Hi Mistervader. This clip is hilarious!
I edited your link to make it hot.
" The Challenge of The Super-Duper Friends"

I really got a kick out of it.
Thanks so much for sharing it.

This node has degenerated
This node has degenerated into a flame war between two posters who have nothing but negative things to say about other Democrats, and the rest of the membership who only want to point out the positive qualities of their favorite candidates.
When two posters can disrupt a node all by themselves, that smells of troll-like behavior. Now can we please get back to the topic of this node: the presidential primary poll? Who will you support, and why?
Kerry won- here's the rule you've violated, over and over.

.
If you had read the rules you would know this.
We asked you to read the rules.
You have been warned several times.
One more posting of misrepresentations of any Democratic candidate and
you will not remain here.
Karin, obviously Kerry Won
Karin, obviously Kerry Won does not realize that her bashing of other Democratic candidates is not helping her guy (Kucinich) one whit. In fact, it is hurting his chances with other Democrats.
At best, she is playing into the hands of the Rovian "negative campaigners," and at worst she is helping them. Promoting a Libertarian on a Democratic site is indicitive of her mindset however...
Bill, it's frustrating and maddening when
someone won't listen to reason.
It's much worse when they promote and distribute outright lies.
We are all very tired of the lies and negative campaigning.
She has had her warning.
We will not play this game, anymore.
Edwards is the electable Kucinich
Kucinich folks, you are really out of your head if you think any president will be able to create a single payer healthcare system. There is no way in HELL that will get through congress at the current time. the John Edwards plan is a great plan and the fact that it introduces the government as an insurer instead of entirely dismantling the insurance system is REALISTIC! I would love a single payer system but guys, something is better than nothing, well get there eventually.
Edwards has never taken corporate money either.
He is pro labor, and will honestly address poverty domestically and internationally. He has a clear plan for getting out of iraq.
He has actually held a major office before guys! And he is winning in Iowa.
Kucinich will NOT WIN THE PRIMARY!
Edwards has similar positions on everything, but they are much more realistic. and he is electable!
Kucinich boosters...
Instead of telling members of this site how good Dennis is, why not look into his past and tell us what he has accomplished--particularly over the past 6 years.
Dennis has made some interesting speeches and comments. He has failed completely to get much, if anything, done in most areas where he has shown an interest.
He has done nothing about the corrupt voting practices in his home state. That situation is apparently below his radar. Aside from a very public comment about impeachment, he has done nothing to get the process in motion.
Kucinich has already proven a track record of failure to attract public interest, other than that shown by Greens and Peaceniks--essentially low volume independent voters. His record in the last primary was terrible. He attracted less than 10% of the primary votes nationally, usually coming in with about 3% or less of the Dem vote in most states. He did do well, or at the least better, in 4 states out of 50. Al Sharpton did better than Dennis and he quit the primary early.
Frankly, we have a broken country. Dennis has not shown, by deed/action, that he has a clue about what to do to fix it.
The way we used to investigate potential candidates here was to seek out their entire record. Find all the good and all the bad and then discuss at length. Except for saying that backers would vote for Dennis or other relative unknowns, none of you have told us what Dennis really is/is not.
His record clearly shows that he cannot be elected. You still want to vote for him? Can you honestly state clearly that you will vote for Dennis or no one? If so, then you a probably on the wrong site.
Dennis is a non-candidate.

Time to Vote with our HEARTS
Last time we nominated a candidate that we THOUGHT could win. The results were less than positive. I’m so tired of fellow Democrats telling me that it is about winning that I think I might have to pull out Barbara Jordan’s 1976 Key Note Address again and review it just to remind myself why it is worth the effort.
Democracy is all about voting with your heart. Winning will take care of itself. Kucinich is the only one of the leading candidates who is talking about issues that define the Democratic Party. The other campaigns are all about the other candidates’ personalities. Dennis’ campaign isn’t about his beautiful wife, or how tall he is or him being the “first” of anything. It is about getting us out of the Iraqi War. It is about universal healthcare, and well paying domestic jobs, and social justice. Peace, Prosperity, and Justice: exactly what the Democratic Party is all about.
The facts please - just the facts
Grinch said:
I so much agree with you Grinch. I would like to see that applied to all the talk about all the candidates. I see a lot of key words that describe what the campaign wants us to think, and see very little in reference to actual accomplishments of the candidates.
I don't get a chance to learn about a candidate if I hear things like Peace, Hope, Experience and other memes that are put in our minds. Actually what has your (not you personally) candidate of choice done to help this country and we the people?
Campaign rhetoric doesn't fly anymore.
The problem
I think the largest obstacle Dennis Kucinich faces in Congress is that the bills he introduced are too progressive, so they die shortly after being introduced. A few weeks back, I went to the Thomas website to look at the bills Kucinich introduces and repeatedly they are sent to a committee and never heard from again.
It's not that his bills are bad(I actually think they're very good and would like to see them passed), it's just that they appear to be outside of the mainstream of Congress. Whether it's The Department of Peace, Universal Single-Payer Healthcare or getting out of Iraq, he just doesn't have the support.
So, I would honestly say, as a Kucinich supporter, that Dennis Kucinich is a man that has a strong, compassionate heart and also intelligence and forsight and alot of good ideas. If his ideas were implemented, they would help millions of people. Unfortunately, it seems that a minority of our Representatives want to implement his ideas.
How does someone measure a candidate or a politician who writes good, progressive legislation, but can't get it passed?
Rather than creating another post, I'll just say this here: As a Kucinich supporter, I think we would all do well to avoid attacking supporters of other candidates and misrepresenting what the candidate stands for. For whatever reasons, the positions of other candidates resonate with different people. While I may not be supporting Obama or Clinton, I know that many people are and that they have their reasons.Too many times, disagreeing over who to vote for, becomes an exercise in hate and that does not do well for our democracy and our chosen candidate.
We all have the ability to find out a candidate's legislative history, by going to Thomas and searching for it. If we don't like how a candidate voted or the bills he/she introduced/sponsored/co-sponsored etc, then we don't have to vote for that candidate. I think it's better to say, "Hey, my candidate stands for this...." and make that our focus, rather than saying, "My candidate did this and yours didn't, so your candidate sucks!"
Welcome to Democrats.com
Welcome to Democrats.com Dave, and thanks for your level-headed observations of how best to promote your own favorite candidate, without attacking other Democrats.
Well stated, Zoe.
A big 'Thank You' to both you and Grinch for nailing
what we need to focus on.
Obama has no substance, Edwards is the real progressive candidat
I've seen Barak Obama speak and his rhetoric is great, he is very progressive in theory, But he has no political courage. He only says what you want to hear. He talks about universal healthcare, but doesnt have a plan for adminstering it, and doesnt have the balls to say how he is going to pay for it. He has raised tons of money, and you better believe its coming from PACs and wallstreet. John Edwards, on the other hand is the true progressive candidate. He has drafted a comprehensive universal healthcare plan, he is not afraid to say he is rolling back the bush tax cuts for people who make over 200k a year to pay for it. He has a definitive plan about how we are going to get out of Iraq. He has a bold energy transformation / c02 reduction plan, a new tax form, will create a new cabinet position for third world developement. Edwards has never accepted any money from PACs or special interests, all his money is grassroots. Obama has great rhetoric, but doesnt offer any concrete plans about what he is going to do. Edwards is the substantive candidate, courageous and hasnt sold out. I wouldnt mind seeing Barak on the ticket, but Edwards has to be on top. Obama can run again in 8 years anyway.
Count Me In for Dennis Kucinich
Dennis Kucinich is the ONLY candidate with a solid anti war voting record. The other senators and congressional reps have voted in favor of continuing the war until 2009 at least. I am not willing to sacrifice any more G.I.'s for this obscene profit making war for the elitists in this country. Kucinich's plan in HR1234 would have our troops out of Iraq in 3 months, it would also end Halliburton's exploitation of the Iraqi people and stop the U.S. hired mercenary force Blackwater from committing war crimes and torturing Iraqis. Dennis Kucinich also has a plan for a real universal health CARE(not insurance) system - single payer not for profit which would stop insurance adjusters from making medical decisions on whether or not physician ordered medical treatment plans are acceptable. Dennis Kucinich also stands up for working people, he would withdraw from NAFTA and CAFTA, free trade agreements which benefit the corporate robber barons and destroy the middle class by exporting good paying jobs to third world countries where workers can be exploited, intimidated, or murdered by union busting goon squads. Dennis Kucinich is clean, he takes no corporate money, that is why corporate media paint him as having no chance, they can't buy him off. He is a candidate of and for the people. I have seen Obama speak twice here in Las Vegas, he wowed me the first time I heard him, but he was speaking about his history and his vision, nothing solid on issues. The second time I saw him was at the SEIU Presidential Candidate Forum on Health Care at UNLV. I was greatly disappointed as he had no health care plan and I thought it was a poor decision of a presidential candidate to speak at a forum full of union health care workers and not have a plan to discuss when that was the subject matter of the forum. I beleive Obama needs one more term in the Senate to gather a voting record before I could make a decision to support him. I saw all the candidates except Biden at this forum. Edwards still has his vote on the war as baggage and as a veteran and step father of an active duty soldier I don't accept apologies for not doing the work to see if the information provided by the Bush/Cheney cabal was true. When committing our young servicemembers to war, do the damn work. I was not impressed with his health care plan as the insurance companies are still running the show. Clinton was good at working the audience but as much as I would like to support a woman presidential candidate, Clinton is not the one, she is too hawkish and would keep up to 50,000 troops in Iraq for an unspecified time. She said the right things about health insurance, but failed to go all the way and call for a single payer health care system. This brings me back to Kucinich, if you want to see his plans spelled out in detail go to his web page kucinich.us and see real well thought workable plans for peace and health care, ending the repression of civil rights, and dealing fairly with working family issues. He is a man of peace, of vision, and incorruptable. Do not buy into the corporate media's spin that he is not electable, when progressive people hear his message they agree, they just don't follow his words of wisdom "If you want peace, vote for peace". It is up to the grassroots Kucinich supporters to spread that message far and wide since he will never compete with the corporate campaign contributions flowing to the Edwards, Obama, and Clinton camps. Nobody but Dennis Kucinich in 2008.
We need a true peace candidate to end this war and that candidate is no one other than Dennis Kucinich. Nobody but Dennis in 2008. My Dennis Kucinich support blog: http://putpeaceinthewhitehousein2008.blogspot.com/
Sorry, But Kucinich just can't win
No Offense but kucinich just can't win this time, cause he used to be pro-life and I Don't stand for that, sure he maybe a peace candidate, but I'm a conserative democrat and I Support the death penalty and Kucinich does not get my vote
Sure he maybe a peace candidate, but he loses with conseratives and centrist democrats.
Wesley Clark will be the ulitmate answer if he runs, thank god he was against this immoral war from the very beginning.
Not true and it's time this lie stopped
Lies about Kucinich's chances don't reflect well on those spreading this false information or on the candidates they represent.
Last November, it was Kucinich's supporters who brought home the Democratic victory. That's why the news media was surprised. They were polling the wrong people.
I am one of the millions of peace supporters (Democrats) who will not vote for any Democrat for President except Kucinich. You should spend your time worrying about the chances of every Democrat other than Kucinich.
Everyone is entitled to
Everyone is entitled to their own choice for the Democratic nominee, and threatening to boycott the candidate who is eventually nominated, unless he or she is your choice, is counter-productive.
Democrats.com is open to all viable candidates and their supporters. You may find that not everyone will agree with your particular choice, and that is why we are a Constitutional Democracy.
John Edwards!!
Edwards' firm stance on poverty and inequality is exactly why I support his presidency
campaign. He is someone who understands that plight of the world population and American citizens who live in poverty. The poverty in America alone is astounding, but when viewed in a global perspective, something really needs to be done. Our leaders need to support the UN Millennium Development Goals to end poverty, and I think that only Edwards will try to and I commend him for it.
Imagine how different this world would be without poverty. Would we be fighting a war on terror? Would there be so many instances of genocide? Would people all over the world continue to live on less than $1 a day? On the Borgen Project Website, it states that it costs $19 billion annually to relieve starvation and malnutrition, which is peanuts considering our $522 billion military budget this year. I really hope Edwards will make a difference because he seems the most sincere out of all of the candidates in both parties.
John Edwards is a great candidate for president
Whenever I've seen him in an interview he tells us what his plans would be for the presidency. He talks about his plans for health care and getting out of Iraq in great detail; he is easily understood when he speaks and one can get his ideas by listening to him. I was one of the original letter writers several years ago to get Wes Clark to run for President. I still think he'd be a great one. Since then we have found out there may be things to consider that we never thought about before when voting for a President of the U.S. Wes Clark found out that young people didn't completely understand him as he explained an issue because his sentences where too long and complicated. When John Kerry got involved he was soon thought of as an elitist. Walking around in a hunting jacket just didn't compliment him and it looked fake. I have been waiting for this 2008 election for so long and thought I'd be voting for Hillary. John Edwards is definitely in my thoughts now because he speaks in a straight forward manner. I also like Barack Obama for the same reason but his experience is lacking. The Obama people have called me a couple of times and said I should consider very hard voting for the "right" person. One thing is for sure, that is the next President will have to be concerned more about the people of OUR country and not the corporations. The people have to come first. The cronies will have to go. The secret underground Karl Rove computer e-mail system will have to go. The thirty years of Bush family involvment in our government has to go. Of course we also need a president who will not leave our military in a foreign country at war forever, but will keep up on building our military defense submarines for example. Wearing out the military people by sending them to a country over and over again is ridiculous anyway. We need better military strategy. We need competency back in the White House. We need to think about who fits that bill and is an honest person. The future President will also have to be more open minded to ideas and surround himself with good professional people regardless of Democrats or Republican affiliation.

I hope everyone soon realizes that Hillary cannot win the general election. She is too polarizing...and hated by far too many people, whether it is deserved or not.
Our BEST hope is for Al Gore to decide to run, and then a combination of Gore-Edwards or Gore-Obama.
Without Gore in the mix...it HAS to be Edwards-Obama, also a kick-ass ticket.
Anyone else...and you are all fooling yourselves. We MUST grab this chance and failing is NOT an option we can afford.
4 Bunky: Centrists, DLC
Bunky writes:
"I'm not sure what a centrist is and I don't know what the DLC is."
-----
A centrist is someone who can't stand conflict, and believes every democratic contradiction can best be schmoozed over and fixed up in the back room by the elite. Neo-centrists -- former "liberals" scared out of their scant convictions by the Patriot Actors, want at least to hang out with, if not to join, rich people -- to whom the neo-centrists (wrongly) believe they will endear themselves by adopting the elitist social and political attitudes OF the rich.
"DLC" (the Democratic Leadership Council, which followed the now-fascist Republican Party right-ward toward militarism and monarchy) might as well stand for Democrats Lost to Centrism.
On the other side from the centrists are the democrats. Some say the democrats are "egalitarian". If only because the democrats out-number the "centrists" by about 50-to-1, this is the side to be on when push comes to shove, as it may at any moment . . . even before the "election".//
Edwards for President
The trouble with Instant Run-off voting is that a person might wind up ranking people for whom he or she wouldn't vote -- Clinton and Biden, Dodd and Gravel. It seems to me that how the Democratic wing prevails over the right-lite Clintonesque candidates is to vote for John Edwards in the primaries, then -- if necessary, as it could be -- WRITE IN John Edwards for President, and Barack Obama for Vice President (because he IS black, and because Jesse Jackson endorsed him). I did also rank Dennis Kucinich and Bill Richardson, who could have places in the Edwards-Obama cabinet. If it's each-against-all, Clinton wins the nomination, loses the election. We can elect Edwards-Obama, and back the country off of corporate fascism, if we all go in the same direction. It's VERY important: I don't know whether anyone who reads this knows any actual POOR people, but there's a depression on: bread costs $4 a loaf, and there are thousands of Viet Nam vets living in the streets, waiting for the Bush casualties to join them . . .
Who has a chance of winning
You are wrong - it is money that usually wins.
This is entire too early on in the race to become a Presidential candidate and is disgusting.
I will wait until I decide who is the most likely to win against the GOP gang. Whom ever that may be this side of Guiliani who got lucky with 9/11 or would have been political dust, and the schmuck McCain who had some promise before he put his lips on Bush and every extreme religious group he could.
A Nation that elected the cretin G.W. Bush, the slimy bastard Chaney and their marionette master Rove, not once but twice seems not too likely to go for a woman, much less a man that is not white.

When did Gore announce his candidacy? I must have missed that...;-)
Congress needs to do its job or we're screwed
I love to read us, because it inspires me. I can't stay on the computer long anymore, so I don't see our site much. But hear me out, if you can about who we want to elect. I said this in '04 - it doesn't matter who you want for potus, corporations own the voting process. And in '06 I said, "We will be thrown a crumb to prove that the election process works!" And I stand by that. (I know this is tad off subject, but by the way, impeachment doesn't mean, as Biden has said "If we impeach, we end up with Cheney." This here is a large and painful cabal. There are many broken rules, and the voting process under these guys' watch is only one in the package.) But here's where I'm going: those people who throw money at the politicians now direct the voting process. Our voting process is now, well, privatized. Like everything else. Until people get hep and start to bitch about this, we'll keep hearing about these eerie photo-finish election results. We never did get satisfaction in Ohio - Sarasota appears to be underground. And if you are like me, and can't hit the internet, truth has flat gone underground in the mainstream. I love all of our Dem candidates - every last one of them. I believe any of them would be fabulous, frankly. And I think if Al Gore stepped out at the right time - it could overcome even the criminal voting machines and vote counting scams and voter suppression that is now locked in place. And now, my lovely compatriots, I will crawl back in my cave to read the alternative press.....you are all wonderful and it's good to see you again fighting the good fight. -S
The only nominees that can win in 2008
the only nominees that can win in 2008 for the Democrats and we desperately need to take the White House back after our big wins in 2006. #1 in my opinion Al Gore #2 Bill Richardson (because he is a credible governor) #3 Wesley Clark (because he will rebuild the Democratic Party on foreign policy and constantly has been against what George W Bush has did to our veterans in the military calling them "unpatriotic" if they dont support the President.) I think Clark, Richardson, or Gore are the only two in that order respectively backwards is probably the top three Democrats that can win the White House for us against the Repuglicans in 2008. Otherwise, You will see a Repug in the White House for four more years of this worthless squabble and four more years of a war. Al Gore was against this illegal war from the beginning. But the other two bring demographics that could appeal to an electorate. I think Clark for example for President would rebuild our image on national security and defense, and since scaring half of the country on those issues is all the Repugs have left, They will be in the minority for a generation.
The only thing we have to fear, is George W Bush and Richard B "Dick" Cheney and the RIGHTWING CONSERVATIVE BIASED REPUBLICAN MEDIA
Only Al Gore
I would cast my vote only for Al Gore, he is the most capable person to be our president, his labor has earned him the acknowledgement of the whole world. and if the Democratic party fails to acknowledge this, I may resign and go Green.
Libe Kunz, I'm really sorry that you feel that Al Gore...
is the only Dem candidate you would bother to vote for. Let's examine his record:
Chose Joe Lieberman for a running mate.
Could not defeat G.W.Bush in a debate.
Did not, would not fight for his election.
Has done nothing for the party since he failed us in 2000.
Gore is, to be very blunt, a bureaucrat. As such he is not a leader.
His many flaws are fatal.
Have a nice day.

Sad but true Grinch
There are so many ifs , ands, & buts with Al Gore. As the old saying goes: "if and & buts were candies and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas." I like the man and love what he's doing now with his time and work, but he just isn't good at being a candidate. He might even be a good president, but he'd have to be a candidate first. I wish he'd publicly support Edwards now, or another good Democratic candidate. If he were to jump into the presidential fray, he would be a mess, not a messia.
At Least Gore would be
At Least Gore would be better than Dubya anyday of the week, We Need Gore/Edwards 2008, to rebuild our country, our respect in the world and make it better for all of us.
Let's see here, Al Gore is
Let's see here, Al Gore is not running but you hold the Democratic Party responsible for that little "oversight." Does that about sum it up?
When you become a Greenie, who will be your candidate: Ross Perot, or maybe Ralph Nader? That's a really good trade off. Best of luck with that bit of convoluted logic...
decent democrats
hey, we elected a bunch of conservative democrats and where the hell are they? if they don't show up then i'm voting republican next time. i hate spinless gnomes sucking off the american folks for years on end just to fill their pockets with favors from big and little companies.

Gore 08
And if the right birds swoop down from the sky, Al Gore will realize his calling is to the presidency by fall 2007 and return for us, his grassroots, that we know he cares about and should return with all good reason to return. Al Gore I could almost say will have the support at the top of the ticket no matter who his number 2 is. And he should have been on this list.
The only thing we have to fear, is George W Bush and Richard B "Dick" Cheney and the RIGHTWING CONSERVATIVE BIASED REPUBLICAN MEDIA
The Best Gore move would be...
...to throw his complete support over to John Edwards , now . Edwards is the one who can heal our country; each day he becomes more courageous and forthright; he's got heart and guts. Gore is a good man and the planet earth needs his global warming influence . But he had his chance to be president in 2000, and in my opinion, blew it badly. He was the one who let consultants run his lackluster 'safe' campaign; he was the one who chose Joe Lieberman as VP for God's sake ! That election should never have come down to a few chads in Florida. And, Gore even let that farce stand, instead of demanding a recount. It's time for Gore to drop the coy act and let Edwards carry the torch all the way to the White House and light-up this country with truth and compassion again.
Naivete is DANGEROUS!
I think there is a bit more naivete going 'round than meets the eyes and ears, or the eyes and ears just aren't looking and listening in enough places!
There is much I liked about John Edwards, but seeing him play along fully with the "demonize Iran" game, repeating the "fear Iran" soundbites and such reallly turned my stomache! THEN, to see him over in Israel, looking and soundbiting like himself being a card carrying member of AIPAC, and not ONCE have I heard (or heard of) him say ANYthing showing he understands, for instance, that the violence CAN'T stop in Iraq as long as there has not been a definite, verifiable, loud and widely publicized RELINQUISHMENT of all Iraqi soil, oil, economy, etc., ie., anything and everything Iraqi, including the palace in the "greenzone" that is being turned into the biggest "embassy" (black ops and spy station) in the world.....
( THIS IS THE FIRST POINT MADE BY DENNIS KUCINICH IN HR 1234!)
.....and for many other reasons, also, the violence cannot stop, for if it did, before various things are changed, Iraq would not belong to Iraqis.....
Those who speak of "training" Iraqi security forces are also showing their naivete, terribly. "WE" cannot train them, and as long as all the dirt under the bushes is at the head of any such training, they will only make sure that Iraq's security forces will be incapable, and have no ability to sustain themselves.
Hillary and Obama also have done the same, and WORSE concerning AIPAC and Iran. Obama learned fast to become a Poly-tician, he has sold out. Hillary sold out long ago! It has nothing to do with race or gender!

Is a REAL good place to go lose your naivete. Even if you didn't think you HAD any left!!!
ANY politician who seems to have or use naivete should not hold ANY office!
For those of you looking to Edwards because of his "2 America's" talk and his "health care plan", go look into those topics at the Kucinich site to find where he got them. The original, Kucinich versions are more fully developed. All those silly uninformed people who repeat the popular DNC, DLC and DCCC soundbitten propoganda that Kucinich has "done nothing", go to the Kucinich.gov site and educate yourselves before you open your keyboard mouths again, PLEASE!!! Kucinich HAS done much more than most, and ALWAYS, for WE THE PEOPLE. ALSO, Kucinich has proven through time that he CANNOT and WILL NOT be co-opted, or corrupted!
Well, there was more, but its just a few minutes 'til news time......

Make War Obsolete
Great post G Archin
THe key is educating people. Most people tend to jump on bandwagons without noticing that the bandwagon is heading for war.
Here is a comparison chart of the candidates.
http://votepeace.info/printablecomparisonchart.html
I'm sorry, but this chart is so flawed
it's ridiculous!
All the candidates EXCEPT DENNIS voted " for the war"!?!
Like Obama?
Edwards has " the worst" environmental record?!?
Notice any skewing of "facts" here?
Puleeze!
Sure Kucinich is for the
Sure Kucinich is for the People, but He used to be a pro-life candidate, now he's pro-choice and worse he wants to abolish the death penalty and take away our guns, that's wrong, I'm a centrist aka fiscal conserative and kucinich does not get my vote.
Sorry Dennis, but you hit the wrong note on this one.
