"Daybreak urgently reminds us that good political intentions are not sufficient to ensure the continuation of our democracy; informed vigilance is vital to that task."

it has become painfully clear that health care won't be passing anytime soon. my wife and i need it, but there are far more serious problems with others that need it more. i am a lifelong democrat and that won't be changing. what will change, is who i cast a vote for. i have decided that anyone with 3 1/2 years or more in congress, must go and get some progressives in there. there are very few exceptions. i am soooo disappointed in congress and especially the democrats. you people are so stupid you can't even listen to what the american people keep telling you and acting on that. i am writing my concerns here as it appears that there is no way for the masses to get heard by congress. the president will now be a one term president due to all of this. i do not understand, nor can most democrats, why the pres held out for 'bipartisan' cooperation to get this done. are all of you 'clueless'? you had to know that republicans will not work with the president. for two main reasons. 1) he is a democrat and they are furious about losing the election and 2) the president is black and they are racists. don't fool yourself into thinking that is incorrect.
one other item. there is a bill to decrease the 50% discount for camping at federal camp grounds to about 10%. this is completely unfair to those that need that. there are a lot of elderly and disabled folks that would not be able to afford camping if not for that. all this congress, and even local governments, wants to do is extract more taxes, fees, costs out of all of us. you always start with the people that can least afford it.
i know this will fall on deaf ears. we are all used to that.
since when are americans against capitalism. choosing what is best for them? not being dictated by states which insurance companies to choose from? what happened to searching for the best price, best coverage, and best options?
it seems very anti-capitalist not to demand these things. how in the world did it get so far out there that it is socialist? since when is it socialist to find the best price, best options. why are ppl fighting for higher costs, less coverage, and denied coverage? i am not understanding my fellow americans. how do the rich get the poor to fight their wars? i will never understand this.
the fear of the status quo should be the motivator, but in this bizzaro world it is the opposite. have i lived so long nothing makes sense any more, or am i the only one not in the top 1% financially in this america.

Anyone that is against any health reform bill passing deserves exactly what the republicans will allow them to have. Too many people are like sheep, they want to be controlled. The wolves are more than willing to control them. 98% satisfied with their insurance. Thats bullsquirt.

Jcwee, I agree with you,
especially the two main reasons the Republicans won't compromise on anything.
Yes, racism is what they deny but what it is.
They use a strong fear factor to control the Faux News watching teabagger crowd.
I too am very disappointed.
My family immigrated here from Sweden, where they have universal healthcare.
I hope the bill doesn't pass that would get rid of the discount for seniors and the disabled at our Federal
camp grounds. That's the only way many can afford camping.
:-(
