Palin v. Ferraro

In 1984, the Democratic VP was a charismatic young woman who made history, turned out huge audiences, and fired up the party base. Unfortunately she had some controversies during the campaign which ended up costing her party a point or two.

When her party lost, did the Corporate Media annoint Geraldine Ferraro as the savior of her party, worthy of endless TV coverage? Absolutely not. She was immediately made into a non-person. She lost a subsequent campaign for U.S. Senate and faded into obscurity as an occasional guest on FOX News.

So why is Sarah Palin being treated as a conquering heroine?

Obviously she has nothing intelligent to say about the nation's problems, which are overwhelming. If she did, she would have said them on the campaign trail.

She doesn't even look great because she had to give back her fabulous Neiman-Marcus clothes.

Is it because the Corporate Media is terrified to interview the real leaders of the Republican Party - George Bush, Dick Cheney, Mitch McConnell, and John Boehner - for fear the American people would tar, feather, and drag them through the streets for the damage they've done to our country?

Update 1: There's one question the Corporate Media refuses to ask Palin. Does she acknowledge her baseless accusations that Obama was "palling around with terrorists" produced a dramatic increase in the number of death threats against Barack Obama? Does she take responsibility for the consequences of her accusations? Will she condemn those who threatened violence against Obama because of her lies?

Update 2: However you slice it, Palin is a loser:

NBC’s Ana Maria Arumi crunched exit poll numbers on Palin for David Gregory’s “1600” on MSNBC. The results: The voters who found her to be qualified to be president were Republicans (74%), from the South (45%), and from rural areas (45%). She greatly underperformed among college grads (35%), independents (35%), and in the suburbs (40%).

Outside the state of Alaska, she's nothing more than a LOSER. After America and the World saw and heard Palin, it was clear that she was nothing more than a novelity play by McCain in hopes of desperation. She was no doubt the worst excuse for a national figure head. John McCain surely thought he'd just play a joke on the American people when he picked this clown to be his running mate.
I hope the people that calls Alaska home, got a good look at their Governor, real facts, real world conditions.

A real live LOSER. She walks, she talks, she says anything to further HER own personal agendas.

John McCain saw the numbers and tide turning against him. In his self image misery he let his base driven campaign managers do whatever they thought necessary to liven up his attempts at being a competitor. Palin was the result. The result was their campaign had new fire in the belly with their rank and file alienated Joes. Their gang doesn't care about policies or budgets. They're only interested in aligning with their type and caste if it makes them money. Also, they're not going to crawl into holes and vanish. Now that Palin has given them life, we're going to be seeing more of them and their candidates. Our work is just beginning. Joe the Plumber is also Joe the Tow Marshall and Joe the construction worker. We have to win them over somehow.

Joe the plumber is not a plumber and was on welfare.
