Outsourcing

Micheal Moore's film "Roger and Me" and his book "Outsource This" really hit home for me because so many people I know have lost their jobs because the management of the companies they worked for decided to outsource good paying working-class jobs to countries where they could pay starvation wages and also get away with not having to abide by the other humanitarian and environmental rules of the trade agreements which not only allowed American companies to outsource the jobs overseas, but in many cases, subsidized it through tax incentives.

Representative Peter DeFazio of Oregon had introduced a bill to Congress back in April of '09 called "H.R. 1875 Emergency Commission to End The Trade Deficit" which would, among other things, actually enforce all of the rules in the existing trade agreements, thereby making it much more difficult for American companies to ship any more jobs overseas. The bill was submitted to the House Ways and Means Committee in April of 2009 and not much has been done about it since. So I guess my question for Mr. Moore is: "What can ordinary working people do to get the Congress to act on this bill?"
