We've created http://www.NoMandate.org to serve as a concerted action forum. Our weekly ActionLetters reach multiple media outlets with one click of the send button. We will choose one agenda item at a time, decided by member input and current events.

The Republican's effectiveness at framing their pet issues in unassailable language and getting the media to repeat these talking points is widely recognized and mourned in the progressive community. We propose to strike at the source of our opposition's success by pressuring the media to stop repeating the Bush Administration's talking points and to start engaging in real journalism.

Our goal is to put a wedge in the Bush Administration’s strategy and subvert their control of the media's message to the greatest extent possible. It’s time to stop the cycle - the administration says it, the press repeats it, the public believes it.
