Won’t you make a red district blue?

Ned Lamont’s win in the Connecticut senatorial primary was a great victory for Internet activists. Let’s enjoy it for a moment, and then get right back to work. We have many more victories to arrange over the next 2-1/2 months, so let’s use the energy generated by Tuesday night’s good news to do more. To win more. To take back the Congress and to take back our country from the right wingers who have stolen it.

One candidate who needs our help is Tony Trupiano, running for Congress in Michigan’s 11th District. Tony is a true blue progressive, and is exactly the kind of candidate we of the netroots want to put in office. And he can win—BUT ONLY IF WE WILL HELP! Tony has shared with me the results of his recent internal polling, and here are some of the highlights:

[Tony’s opponent] McCotter’s re-elect number was just below 47%. Any incumbent under 50% is considered in trouble…

The District is divided 50-50 with Democrat and Republican ids. This was unexpected and a great number as usually the district has at least a 5% Republican tilt…

Bush’s approval ratings are dismal, with almost 40% of respondents giving him a “one” or “two” on a scale of 1-10 (with one being the lowest)…

This poll proves that this is a winnable race, as we’ve known from the beginning. It is the only winnable race in Michigan…

Tony was a radio talk show host for years, and helped many progressives promote their books, their websites, and their candidacies. Now it’s time for us to return the favor.

We can’t help every Congressional candidate, but it certainly makes sense to help those who are likely to turn a red district blue. So let’s get cracking!

If you can contribute, go to one of the links below. If you have a media platform, interview Tony. Put him on the air. Write about him. He’s a good man, and could be the next big success of the Internet.

Contribute at Tony’s website or at ActBlue. Do it today. Right now. This minute.

The loony left screws the pooch for the dems again. Huzzah!

Ned Lamont’s win in the Connecticut senatorial primary was a great victory for

Republicans. Face it; you just split your vote in half. When the joyous drunk you all have in actually winning an election, you will realize what a mistake you've made. The endorsement of an extreme leftwing blogger is the kiss of death. Lamont is bound to lose to either lieberman or the republican and in doing so will reveal once and for all that the democrat party is completely impotent and irrelevant.

*** Troll Alert!!! ***

This guy is a freeper and a troll. Would somebody please boot his behind back to Coon Rapids so he will stop littering on the highway of Democratic success!

Pure loser....

Hark! Over the horizon!

It's the cavalry...

LootieMaye, they seem to be out in droves tonight...

Whats up with this, did they cancel the car cruising competetion? Are all the bars closed? Is the rotating electric
horsey ride not working? Are all the Hooter Girls sick??
Man.. Someone get some air freshner in this room!!

There is, indeed, a rather foul odor!

There is, indeed, a rather foul odor about us tonight!

"The stench of conservatism is the same acrid air one's nose is pugently exposed to when you open a crypt that has been sealed-off from the world and reality for several millennium!"

SCO...Bernie and Ray had all the nut calls ...

last night and early this morning. Might be really interesting again tonight.

The Lamont win really stirred them up.

Another one, Damn!

I missed the friggin troll invasion, tonight!

We haven't seen these guys around from some time, now.

It must have something to do with a huge victory for the Democrats,
last night.

Yep, that seems to bring them out of their hiding spots.

I can smell your fear...

... right over the Internet.

Be very afraid. We're breathing down your neck.

Isn't that weird.... ??

I mean, the Progressive dems clean house, so all the Right wingers come out...and have to add their two cents...I guess they figure once we clean house, they are next on the agenda and that scares them. Because once we clean house, we can start talking impeachment, as well as war crimes and oh man, they are all going to freak out.

But you know what? Its gonna be fantastic.. I can't wait.

Fear rears its ugly head.

And the trollikins start coming out of the woodwork.

ScoAngel, you were right. It was a full moon, last night.

Regarding the changing tide;
You bet it's gonna be fantastic.

McCotter

Last summer I went to Washington D.C. as a part of Presidential Classroom. It was a week in D.C. to learn about Homeland Security from the people who work in the field. One other part of the week long trip was that everyone got to meet their Senators and Representative. We had times where we were supposed to go to their office to meet with them. When I went to McCotter's office no one had any idea who I was or why I was there. A family from Michigan showed up for a tour of Capitol Hill. Representative McCotter came out to meet with this family. He shook their hands and thanked them for their support. When he got to me I extended my hand and said "It is nice to meet you." McCotter walked right past me ignored me completely and went back into his office. I couldn't believe that he wouldn't even shake my hand. I know that he saw me because he looked at me when I spoke to him but that did not stop him from ignoring me. In my trip to D.C. I did not get a chance to meet with Senator Levin because a vote had come up suddenly which I completely understand. I got to speek with his staff and they were eager to answer any questions and tell us anything that we wanted to know. I did get to meet Senator Stabenow which was great. I got to speak directly to a Senator. But McCotter to completely ignore me just left me with a bad taste. I knew that I didn't like Republicans but I was going to give McCotter a chance when I met him. I was going to keep an open mind. What he did only confirmed for me that I am proud to be a democrat. Yesterday I turned 18 and I am going to vote for Tony Trupiano and support him any way that I can because I have always remembered how McCotter treated one of his constituents.

Good for you

He probably viewed you as underage and therefor he didn't "need" to be nice to you. Some politicians forget that young people grow up and then vote. Their mistake. I want to congratulat eyou on being eligible to vote. Remember, if you vote your conscience, you've done your job :)
