"Daybreak urgently reminds us that good political intentions are not sufficient to ensure the continuation of our democracy; informed vigilance is vital to that task."

Before embarking on impeachment road the facts of just 'why' this man should be impeached should be clearly understood by all. I do not feel confident that the majority of people really understand the fundamental reasons why this President should be taken from office. First and foremost the entry into Iraq was a very bad business decision. I expect my leaders to act in a business type of way and the lack of thought about what would be involved with this adventure amazes and worries me how little people in high office think through what they are doing. I have made this point before and I stick to it. Had we done nothing with IRAQ, today, more then likely, Saddam may have been assassinated by his own henchmen. It was only a matter of time. Saddam was in a personal mess at the time of the invasion with defections of his family, attempted assassinations of his family, money etc, etc. It is most likely that his regime would be rolling out at this time and a new one coming in, most likely not as bad. We could have sat back and watched this unfold without spending a dime...that's the real heart of the bad business decision and that is why he should be removed from office. You can add to that bad business decision all the lies, and deceit etc and build a case.
Second: This is most important, JW Bush has hijacked my government and given it to the religious right. He has demolished all the barriers between church and state and allowed the Jerry Fallwells and kind to have access to the treasury of the US government. He has begun a campaign of cultural re-orientation to place religion at the top of the list in decision making in this country. He has reinforced the christian predominance in our military academies and other institutions. He refers to god frequently as having a part in governmental decision making. THIS IS WRONG AND IS IMPEACHABLE! You cannot twist this government into a deity government, IF YOU DO, THEN THERE IS NO ONE TO BLAME, ACCOUNTABILITY GOES WITH THE DEITY. This is the second reason this man must be impeached.
and let the accused to do to him what has been done to them.
I agree with the previous poster in the f-ckup this human creature has caused. I agree with his view of IRAQ especially, America has no business involved in the Middle East mess Saddam caused for himself with his people.
As I sat tonight watching PBS show the pictures of 10 more young American Men who died for this war, I cried, as I have before about the waste of life. As I saw the picture of a 34 year old male, I wondered if he was married with a young family, and I wept for him. Each time I see those pictures of the great loss of life, I get angry at my government for continuing to allow this excuse for a president to continuously embarrass the good people of the country.
Following the PBS news story, Washington Week summed up the new mess he is making in Lebanon. Condileezza is being made a scapegoat bt Neo-Cons. She should use her own mind in deciding what to do, but she will not, as we all know, she is a Bush loyalist.
The icing on the cake however was listening to the young man who had been locked up in two different prisons tell his story of how guards scissored off his clothes, used their hands to enter his body cavity, shaved him, starved him, beat him, sleep deprived him, and coerced him into signing a statement that he was involved with Al-Qaeda, and I cried again. He is also 34, married with two children, rounded up by Palestianian Guards who treated him rough, but not as bad as the Americans. When asked if he hates Americans, he said the average American, no. But he admitted to hating the Bush Administration. Can you blame him?
An important point made, was that Americans guarding him made statements that if he were them, and he was not a terrorist, he damn sure would become one after what happened. Do you think that was the original thought behind this fanatical behavior directed by our leaders in our government to the Armed Services who directed the young troops to abuse these innocent young men held in captivity in such inhumane treatment?
Bush, Cheney and ancillaries should be impeached and tried for war crimes.
Anyone wanting this war, and really believing in it should really take a second look, before passing judgement, and educate themselves on the barbaric nature directed by a man who was not elected, stole two elections, never had the courage to even serve his country in the armed forces. He obviously has no respect for the many lives lost to this war that should not be a part of what we are speaking about today.
