Question via Canada

I think it should be obvious to most that Canadians are overwhemingly dissapointed by the results....I can't even imagine your level of anguish ...I'm sorry he lost....so sorry.

with that said ...other than boycotting Republican friendly corporations and the like (many of us actively joined the Sinclair advertisers boycott initiative) what can we as foreigners do for helping the Democrats for 2006? ....

I'm trying to be logical here folks and although I'm quite depressed that Bush's win will most probrably force Canada to get involved in the insane missle defense program and that his policies will further add to global instability I have to believe that there's a concrete strategical approach being conceived by the DEMs  for 2006.

So if there's any advice you can give a foreigner as to how to productively contribute to the DEMs I'd appreciate it...

I'd as well like info on websites where I could get informed on what's up for grabs in 06....

hoping someone can help....and please should some of you be offended by a foreigner's involvement in your affairs please note that the USA's decision to elect Bush has guaranteed that the rest of us will be sufferring via his policies for the next 4 years....

very depressed.....yet good dosage of denial presents hope...

Canada

Hello Mr. Canadian,

Since you are looking for some logic here, allow me to help. First and foremost, I cannot think of any area where the U.S. needs help from Canada. Secondly, you might want to focused your efforts and energy in helping straightened out your own country.....the place is a mess and beginning to become a hotbed for terrorists....

So you take care of your country and we will take care of ours....agreed?!

Mr. Canadian? note that "e

Mr. Canadian?

note that "elena" is a female name....

as for "agreed"....that's an oxymoron considerring I addressed the possibility of such a reponse....

view from Canada

Most Canadians, maybe, but not me. For the last few days I was worried sick that America would fall to Liberalism as Canada has. One of my primary objectives as a parent here in Canada is to protect my child from Liberalism.

Democrats love to hate George Bush, but he is not your enemy. Your enemy is the majority of Americans who disagree with your Liberal social/moral values. They are responsible for putting Bush in office. They (like I) believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman. They (like I) believe that life begins at conception and ends at Planned Parenthood. There is a culture war going on in your country. Traditional American versus you folks. They put Bush in office yesterday. They are your opponent, not the man George W. Bush who you love to hate.

Most news channels are saying that this election was won on moral values. I would have to agree. If you disagree, then I must ask: Do you think Bush won because things are going great in Iraq? Do you think Bush won because the economy is overflowing with jobs? Do you think Bush won because he is so smart and articulate? (Don't misunderestimate this guy.)

John Kerry seems like a pretty good guy. Genuine. Undoubtedly loves his country. I could see that man as the president of a country. I just couldn't see myself voting for Liberal values.... I would feel weird voting for the candidate being endorsed by Larry Flynt (Hustler Magazine), Ludacris, Eminem, and Howard Stern.

Bush will not unite America, even though he will try. Your country is too divided. You Democrats really hate Bush. I know the feeling. I really, REALLY hate our socialist government here in Canada. Democrats will not go along with Bush's earnest attempts to reach across the isle. Welcome to the Divided States of America.

To answer the poster's original question, I would have to say that if you want Democrats to win the US presidency, stop wasting time hating Bush and find some way to convert traditional America to Liberalist thinking.

But if all you want is for George Bush to move out of the White Hose, that's easier - just wait 4 years. I'm sure you'll agree that that's not what you want though. Democrats needs to stop hating Bush and focus on changing the minds of other Americans on social issues. But I must say that if you try, I hope you fail... I lived down there for 6 years and hope to live there again soon... you wouldn't believe it up here. Actually maybe you democrat.com folks would like it. Our ""Conservative"" party is more Liberal than your Democratic party. Its unreal. I want my children to live in America. My first child was born in the USA and is therefore an American citizen. That is a gift I want to give to all my kids, so I need to get back down there before the next one. :-)

PS. I just read the two other responses to the original post. I just realized that there aren't going to be any other thoughtful replies the time I spent writing this was probably a waste of time.

Canada CAN help

Please disreagrd the ignorance of my fellow Canadian davecrowell. We as Canadians feel a profound sence of dismay for what has happened to your country, and understand, perhaps more than any other nation in the world the effect 4 more years of this administration will have on the social direction, and the international outlook of the U.S.

Here in Canada, more than any other country, OVERWHELMINGLY preferred Kerry by a margin of 4 to 1.... at any rate, here's how we can help... in a nutshell, asylum!
