Are we missing something

While watching the results and exit polling last night, I saw that 34% of the voters in Ohio were primarily concerned with "Moral Values" of their choice for President.  This seemed to me to translate into "I am against gay marriage and abortion."  I am sorry to say, but this plays well throught the midwest and middle america.  The leadership needs to address this effictively, otherwise we could be left out in the cold for quite some time.    Neil Rose, Kansas

But does the Republican Leadership Believe This?

I have contended for a long time that the corporate polluters who back this administration with their pocketbooks and votes are using poor people by red flagging abortion and gay marriage. Waving the bloody shirt. The tactics remind me of Goebbels. Repeat it often and it is believed that moral values are the most important issue when Bush has screwed the world. It is like blaming the Jews for Germany's economic status. We are the immoral Democrats and peace maniacs who would sell out our country and not keep us safe. How did it come to this?

Sickened...

Hello...

My thoughts may not be particularly popular, but I am going to say what I think anyway. I live in Texas and am an avid Kerry supporter. I made calls to swing states on behalf of the Kerry/Edwards campaign and did everything I could to help. I feel very let down. I'm sick to my stomach. I feel that before all the votes are counted John Kerry gave up and conceded. We don't even have a definitive answer...and he's calling Bush and giving up. For someone who presented to us that he is a fighter and will fight till the last vote...yeah right!

What about all of us who worked our butts off to try and get you elected Mr. Kerry??? You give up on us at the last minute...when you are soooooooo close. The votes aren't all counted in more than one state...and yet you concede?

I am disgusted and disappointed. I expected more of the Democrats and I expected more of you Mr. Kerry. I expected when you said you would fight for a "Stronger America"...that meant to the bitter end. I guess I was wrong.

Our country is in for a very, very hard 4 years. The House of Representatives, Senate, White House will all be Republican controlled. WAY TO GO... The Supreme Court will more than likely need 3 new Justices...guess who we will get under this regime?? We're going straight to hell in a handbasket and I guarantee our deficit will do nothing but GROW and GROW and GROW and our men and women in Iraq will continue to die. What are they dying for?? So the Bush family and the BinLaden family can get richer...

I saw all the posts..."No Surrender..." All I can say is..."Yeah right."

Treacherous1

I agree

I will never bother to send another email, write another letter, make another contribution or cast another vote. I've spent 4 long years trying to make a difference in this fiasco called government. The bottom line is the White House is for sale. This country will now be in the hands of the religious right. These people are one short step away from snake handlers. I have wasted enough of my life in this futile effort. Make a difference? I couldn't care less what happens now. I am staying home for the next 4 years unless I'm arrested for not being a good little zealot. This is no longer the country I was born in. John Kerry is a sell-out like every other politician. Thanks Mr. Kerry for NOTHING.

I double agree JustFuriousRN

I couldn't agree more. Crawl in the bunker especially during the mid'term elections. Don't surface until they're over. We appreciate the support! Thanks in advance, Tom Delay, Texas

yup...

i totally agree with you... we have a weak leadership and a moronic leader. so much for a democracy country - we're in for a another 4yrs of low paying job and no health care for the american - and so much for the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND propaganda ... there isn't much public school left for the children because there is no funding and public school have to close its door. oh and last thing, sadly thanks to Bush the econemy is going to die soon and education is falling behind of other countries.

“I’ll be all aroun’ in the dark. I’ll be ever’where – wherever you look. Wherever they’s a fight so hungry people can eat, I’ll be there. Wherever there’s a cop beatin’ up a guy, I’ll be there…I’ll be in the way guys yell when they’re mad an’ I’ll be in the way kids laugh when they’re hungry an’ they know supper’s ready. An’ when our folks eat the stuff they raise an’ live in the houses they build – why, I’ll be there.”

We go underground. We dig and dig and dig until we have incontrovertible, undeniable and unignorable proof of Bush's evil, and then we broadcast it as far and wide as possible.

US election

Hey from Manchester England,
I can honestly on behalf of myself and the majority of the UK that we are scare to death of Bush being in power for another term the sole reason why Bush is so dangerous is the people he has behind him who are running America. It was sad to see that Kerry had to resort to Bush’s tactics using the term commander and chief which makes America sound like a military state the worse thing is Bush supporters do not realise what they have got themselves into the middle east is a place you do not want to be at war with especially when you do not have to be and will unite if they have to this would cause catastrophic consequence. Do not get me wrong war is ok as a last resort but not over whatever the Bush administration was fighting for whether it was oil or something else especially in such a powerful place the Middle East is a sleeping giant similar to china. Let just hope it can only get better and America becomes less insular taking a look at world history

Level playing field

The Democrats must beat the GOP Bastards at their own game.
Like it or not, until abortion, gay marriage, etc. cease to be issues the Democrats have no chance of survival. Likewise as long as these issues remain the GOP will have it's way with the brain dead one issue voter. The GOP will keep these issues alive as long as they work for them, they will never move to reverse Roe vs. Wade. Democrats should task a few rouge legislators with introducing legislation to ban abortion and gay marriage, put prayer back in the schools, etc. If these issues are no longer available to the GOP they will be forced to stand naked, exposed as the frauds that they truly are. I know this is a vial concept, but America ain't buyin' liberalizm anymore.

get over it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess it is a good thing that the republicans owne it all maybe this country can now become truly strong. Maybe we can actualy have a military to contend with and maybe we can stand with some pride. The dems were the moral leaders of the world 20 years ago I thing we need to take a good look at our libral elitest attutudes, and think about change. Think about it the amancipation proclimation signed when republicans had power, Slaves freed by republicans and I could go on i and on fist black any thing republican, all selfmade people maybe we got it all wrong, maybe we do suck and maybe we are the ones going to hell. I think Bush deserved to win. I MIcheal Moore fucked up for all of us, He was wrong and people like him caused this loss. We fucked up.

yeah

Yep kinda feels like all those Vietnam Vets must have felt when Kerry sold them out instead of standing by them as well. Whats wrong liberals, your candidates true character come back to bite you all in the *ss? Maybe you'll think about such things when you put forth another candidate but I am sure all that toking up the next 4 years will once again dull your memories.

Time to get Real, My friends

Democrats,
I am a registered, voting, and loyal Democrat since 1960. When I have challenged our Party's direction I have been censored. We'll never win until we grow up. This ain't the 60's. Let's see how long my post last until it is removed.

Party Platform

I begin by saying that I did vote for Kerry/Edwards. That being said, the party platform, in my humble opinion, needs not veer left, but back towards the center if we want to win the ulimate prize. I think that alot of what the party is selling, doesn't sell well in the red states. We need to make inroads there if we are to have a chance. We moderates that populate the red states need help if we are to have a chance. I couldn't be more upset that Kerry decided to abandon Missouri. He left our gubenatorial canidate, Claire McCaskill, swinging in the wind. In June/July, he chose to abandon Missouri. Unacceptable. Who ever thought that we could weather the "Gay Marriage" issue? Nobody in Middle America would believe that JFK was acutually against "Gay Marriage" after his home state passed the law. We moderates aren't against civil unions, but don't understand "Gay Marriage". I realize that this is a prime example of a wedge issue, but, IT WORKED. We need to nominate candidates that will appeal to Middle America, and the platform needs some fine tuning. I am not about to blame Bill Clinton and his escapades as our achilles heel. Anyone that does, doesn't get what Middle America is trying to say. Middle America believes in "One Nation Under God", Middle America believes in "The Right to Bear Arms", Middle America believes that "Partial Birth Abortion" is wrong, Middle America believes that "Stem Cell Research" is right. We also believe that a woman has a right to choose, that Republicans don't own God, the Goverment should not legislate morals, We ought to lend a helping hand to those that need it, that our kids deserve a good public shcool education, that gays should be able to enjoy the same quality life as my wife and me. To sum it up, I would never leave my party (Thank You Zell), but I would like my voice heard. I am not naive enough to think that mine is the only voice, but it is from Middle America, and Middle America is being hijacked by the Republicans. Neil Rose, Kansas
