Here is why Impeachment is such an uphill battle!

Here is why Impeachment is such a "circle jerk" and an uphill battle!

We have spineless congressional leaders more concerned about re-elections and their own coffers!

Read what a few, supposed democratic leaders said to the city of SF, Cal. about the city's resolution of impeachment against Bush:

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the liberal Democrat and fierce Bush critic whose district includes much of San Francisco, urged the president’s opponents to channel their anger instead into the 2006 congressional and 2008 presidential campaigns.

And Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein, herself a former mayor of San Francisco, said dismissively of San Francisco’s supervisors: “It would seem to me that there is plenty to occupy them on civic issues.”

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11659132/

This is pathetic, inexcusable and un-American!

Its time to get angry fellow democrats and let are elected leaders know if they can't lead, to get out of the way! We are tired of their wimpering, cheap talk, poor excuses and no results!

Impeachment is not a matter of convenience or timing, its a Constitutional duty, damn it!

Name one thing, other than Russ Feingold's stance, from day one, against the Iraq war and the Patriot Act, that the dems have accomplished since Nov. 2004?

This is another case of just spit-balling and rolling with the punches and never inflicting any real damage!

Its simple folks, No more discussion or talk. Take action!

Somebody, anybody with the slightest bit of courage, conviction and vision INTRODUCE ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT!!!

Who among us actually thinks that the repugs labored this hard and long over impeaching Clinton on a trumped-up charge over a sexual indiscretion? I guarantee you, NONE!

Its time to "grow a pair" and go after these fascist pigs and remove them from office immediately!

Who Else is Mad?!

Action is unelecting each and every one of them, and put in some

folk who will. Pelosi, Feinstein as women of the "Democratic" persuasion should be the first to step up to impeach. If not, hopefully there are some folk around to give them a run for their money.

I think the Independent movement should make a move. Progressives, middle of the road folk it's time to speak up, and let the Democrats know they will lose their jobs if they do not do what's right at this moment.

RI Senate Candidate Carl Sheeler on...

RI Senate Candidate Carl Sheeler on the weak leadership of the democratic pary in an email response to me about this forum node:

Frank,

I guess you read Nancy did not support SF County Supervisors Impeach
Bush resolution. We're both onto something, but need to find a way to
get people more attuned what they are having eroded away beneath them.

Here's what I am focusing on at the moment....

I think we all can agree that Democracy is not a spectator sport.

As a Marine veteran and candidate for US Senate (D-RI), I have
struggled to keep two primary issues in the forefront of the easily
distracted public: (1) We're still in Iraq and people are
dying. Iran is the next real risk and could lead to the draft. (2)
People Died because the President Lied. True for Iraq. True for
Katrina. He should be impeached. I am assisting Congressman John
Conyers (D-MI) efforts and have challenged the RI General Assembly to
send a joint resolution to the US House Floor, which has to be
expeditiously heard per procedure.

Many conservative Democrats have too much vested in their incumbency
with few leading the call to the withdrawal of our troops or
aggressively challenging this administration's policies that have
placed privilege of the few over prosperity for the many.

Author's note: I have been working with Carl Sheeler for about a month now and his campaign. Carl has been attracting a lot of attention and for good reasons!

Senate seats are federal seats. We should all get behind true-blue dems like Carl Sheeler. He not only talks about what to do, but is ready to take action if elected. Take a look at Carl at : http://www.carlsheeler.com

"Its time to replace fear with hope. This is the crucial message that America must begin to hear and believe in again. For hope is the mortal enemy of fear; and fear cannot succeed in the solidarity of inspired hope."

Frank

I am glad you have also found a great candidate to support to help change this Congress too. Everything he says I like. I am going to try to save up a little to send to his campaign. I am afraid just about all I can scratch up will have to go to my own Congressional Candidate because we are a grassroots organization, and after the primaries we are facing a typical Culture of Corruption Congressman with the typically loaded campaign coffers. I hope you will look at his site too, it has just been updated. It is www.streitforcongress.com. Lets hope him and Mr. Sheeler can be part of a new Congress.

Rich, please read!

Thanks for taking the time to look over Carl Sheeler's website. I have viewed your candidate's as well.

I see you are a night owl, too.

I have noticed, that many of our nodes have common idea threads. We should talk on a more personal level.

Below is my email. I will leave it up for a few minutes for you to snag, then delete it. Email me if you want and then maybe we can communicate many thoughts, ideas, strategies, etc.

"Its time to replace fear with hope. This is the crucial message that America must begin to hear and believe in again. For hope is the mortal enemy of fear; and fear cannot succeed in the solidarity of inspired hope."

Got it!!

Frank
Rich

I had forgotten

Sheeler is running for Senate, and Streit is running for Cogress, but hey they both need more Dems. Does Sheeler have a primary? I could look it up but is he running for an open seat or have a sitting incumbent? Anything I could help anyone to help Democrats win anywhere I am always willing to do. Right now we are running in a Democratic primary against two others, so we have basically been trying to contact registered Democrats who voted in at least two or more of the last four elections. Yes I do work a lot of nights and end up looking at things late. I have noticed also that we tend to agree on 95%+ of the things we discuss. I sure hope your guy gets in the Senate. We need guts all up and down this pathetic government. What is it I like to say, Now is the time for all true patriots to come to the aid of their country. We are at least trying to answer the bell.

True Patriots come to the aid...so true

"There is no freedom in fear. There is no honor in deceit. There in no virtue in war. Justice is only served when peace is favored over hostility and diplomacy is the true show of strength of a great nation. Violence is the final refuge of the impatient and the incompetent minds of cowardly and narrow-minded men." -Frank J. Ranelli

I could use some help with primary issues

I could use some help with primary issues. where do you look these up?

I am located in Florida, with repug-lite Bill Nelson, so I decided to campaign for a real dem and Carl caught my attention.

Senate seats are federal seats and I feel its it crucial we win back the Senate, since they consider the nominations of judges, etc.

Ps. if you visit his website, http://www.carlsheeler.com , on the home page, the bottom banner:

Defend Freedom!
Be a 21st Century Patriot!
Impeach George W.Bush!
Carl Sheeler for US Senate

I designed it! Cool and catchy, huh?

Good work Frank, and I

Good work Frank, and I visited the site earlier today.

Frank, I received an e-mail

Frank, I received an e-mail from Carl today, and I REALLY like this guy!

Sheeler

Has an uphill race. There are two pretty well known Democrats in that race. I looked and would want Sheeler to win. I am going to try to send him a little money when I get paid next week. Chafee's seat is winnable.

Fresh blood is the key to

Fresh blood is the key to improving the gene pool. DLC in-breeding has produced a litter of mental runts...;-)

Bill, Now you can see why I...

endorse this candidate, campaign for him and wanted to bring him to everyone's attention. Even though I am in Florida, Senate seats, of course, are federal seats and they impact everyone!

Carl needs not only financial support, but his whole campaign is using word of mouth through the grassroots/netroots community to spread his message and to gain national exposure.

Any financial support is wonderful, it keeps his awesome Billboard up about impeaching Bush, but he needs exposure more than anything.

Glad you see what I see in this guy...I value and trust your opinion!

Talk him up everywhere!

Thanks,
Frank

Always glad to help...;-)

You have been a HUGE help

Thanks so much for your help in our campaign. I can't even convey how grateful I am so I will just say Thanks. Your a class act.

Rich, your guy called me

Rich, your guy called me personally to thank me for a small donation. I was very impressed.

Bill

That is one thing about this guy that impresses me too. He is always working trying to get his name out. He works the phones, and folds the mailers the same as the volunteers. I am not just saying that either. When he found out that I had contacted several elderly voters at a retirement home who had said that they were too old to get out and come to the Grand Opening, he went over there the next day and set up a few dates to go over and meet all of them. I too, want to thank you very much for any donation you made. Keep checking his site, it is being update periodically and you will see that it wasn't a wasted investment. We are tired of conceding this district to the Repugs. But back to thank you, people can talk the talk, but its the ones who put their money where their mouth is who walk the walk. Keep me informed on any candidates who you think deserve help, and I will try to send them something too. Unfortunately I am afraid about all I can spare will have to stay here, but I can help a couple or three others here and there.

Unless I can get a guarantee

Unless I can get a guarantee in writing from the DNC that absolutely NO money will go to DLC-ers, I will be contributing directly to individual candidates from now on -- regardless of where they are located.

I want to thank you, Frank, and others who bring worthy candidates to the attention of the members of Democrats.com. It is grass roots volunteers like you who are making the difference.

I agree wholly and completely

Even Howard Dean can't change that for me. I don't know your particular situation but in my district they haven't spent much at all in the last three elections and I am determined some damn money is going to be spent on these voters even if it is mine. I will not contribute one penny to have another future DLCer elected when I have this guy I can give to. I will, as you stated however be open to giving what I can to any candidate anyone brings to my attention with a website that states their views. Another one to look at Bill, is Claire McCaskill right next to me in Missouri running for the Senate. She has a real chance, and I like what she says. Last I saw she was running neck in neck with Talent. If I remember right that was the seat Mel Carnahan won posthumously over our old buddy John Ashcroft. She has a website that should come up with a search engine, I forgot the adress right off. But I agree with you completly on the guarantee. We not only have a country, but a party to take back here.

Found it here:

Thats her

I had signed up for Email updates from her and was watching in case noone announced to run for this Congressional seat to try and go help her. Parts of Missouri are just about a thirty minute drive from here. She sounds really progressive, and is waging a hell of a campaign from what I have seen so far. She is diffinately worth keeping an eye on. I think we can turn that seat blue. What do you think about the Democrat in the DeLay race?

Sorry to say that I haven't

Sorry to say that I haven't kept up with the Texas races. It seems to me though, that anyone who can walk and talk at the same time should be able to beat DeLay.

Then again, unless the gerrymandered voting districts are realigned, there may not be enough thinking Texas voters left who are eligible to vote for an American instead of a neocon.

We fell prey

To redistricting here too. You should see our district. If you ever have time look at the 1st Kentucky Congressional district. They took a part out, and put a real Republican part in, and you can see how the district is real mishapen. That is why we have had a Repug congressman for ten years after not having one for forty. They took out a few Democratic districts and added a bunch of less populated Republican ones.

Redistricting should be disallowed...

especially the mess ups done under this administration.

They could actually evaporate, if the computers are good, and
you take the number of Dems ,Repubs, Independs and whoever
with the highest number in a state wins, it really would not
have to matter, it could be a subjective subtotal to see how
folk vote, but it does not have to really exist.

Bill

I want to ask, is there any way the members of Democrats.com can come up with a fund that contributes to good candidates who stand for what the grassroots people like us believe in? Candidate like Sheeler, Streit, and McCaskill. Mike Weaver here in Kentucky is another good candidate. I am sure other members could find other candidates we would approve of who will need help. Is there no way we can combine all our efforts to help these candidates without having to worry if it is going to the DLC? Just a thought.

Since it is the policy of

Since it is the policy of Democrats.com to not allow "fundraising," I think it would be difficult to set something like that up. In additon, someone would need to set up a PAC, file the necessary "gummit" paperwork, and be responsible for the bookkeeping and disbursement of funds. Regardless of who it is, a third-party fundraising organization still needs to pay for their overhead costs.

I believe that continuing the grass roots efforts, and pointing out worthy candidates individually, will at least provide the framework for individuals to support candidates of their choice. This way, ALL of the money goes to the candidate.

Understood

I just wondered.

Frank

I emailed you. I have my adress listed. Sheeler is running in a primary then?

Rich, got it

Rich, got it, I will read and respond tomorrow.

Tired now. Neep sleep! ;-)

Ps. I have some suggestions for Eric's website, too.

"Its time to replace fear with hope. This is the crucial message that America must begin to hear and believe in again. For hope is the mortal enemy of fear; and fear cannot succeed in the solidarity of inspired hope."

Great

I am about ready for bed too. I'll look at Sheeler's race on the DSCC real quick. Hopefully I can help.

The machinery is trickery...NY is getting sued, thank goodness..

Accurate elections will be a necessity from this day forward.
Although the technical Diebold "corrupt" systems are long told and forgotten.
Things definitely went wrong. Those systems are like cancers on the voting system
giving Republicans electoral votes in Florida, Ohio,
perhaps other states possibly who may have gone Democratic in the past three
to ten elections over a ten, twenty, thirty, forty, perhaps fifty year cycle.

There is no accountability but pure corruption now that we know the rules have changed on either side of the table. Forgot about the folk who paying for your free lunch, refuse to bring the taxpaying American in the room of participation.

Thank God it's a rule in NYS and this voting lawsuit by the government has appeared.
They had the nerve to say keep mum about it, thank God there are some true Americans
still out there. Now that this lawsuit has appeared, it's a great reason to investigate each machine, and so far no dice on the accuracy.

Computer systems using corrupt (databases) in elections are involved ought to have Americans up in arms, but I guess they are too busy watching Homer while becoming him. As a people living in "what used to be American, the born and free," now imported, biogenetically engineered and morally bankrupt, we need to wake up.

Arrogance, anger of those road ragers, rapers, killers, pedophiles, and the rest of the undesirables having a run at it now should cause us fools not getting free lunches to "unelect" the "free meals" from hard working tax paying dollars.
The mistakes made in this here Administration, whether Democrats or Republican
should be unelected if they vote against your concience as a being.

Hard earned tax dollars go down a black hole, unless you are rich.
I guess enough people are but God knows America most folk, middle class folk are feeling it; she looks stressed, and hurricane season is coming, the Antartica is melting, and the waters are rising.

Another state could have something more devastating happen under Bush, he must be at least investigated for impeachment. You know the story of his life, his choices as president resonates the same playboy antics, worse the secrecy is much worse than the Nixon offense, without his new presidential powers.

Any person getting a delicious free meal, with wine in Washington should consider the people who pay their taxes, losing job-taxes, while the debt rises, and Bush wants more war, can't you smell it?

Jobs lost to globalization, where Americans must take less decrease the taxes that pay for the free lunches. Utility bills force you to question entertainment, or overspend using credit cards. Jobs, customer services in credit card, airlin industries where Americans spend money yet outsourced on the American taxpayer dime just given away on a whim, downsizes payrolls, decreases the taxes for the free lunchers. They all hide from the
public while passing laws historically undoubtedly unamerican
like the bankruptcy law, for instance against average working taxpayer.

Major taxpaying rolls from automobile manufacters will hit in another below the belt move, very soon. No one buys American, it's second class.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reagan created a the wound in the New Deal, among other rewards for working taxpaying Americans, now totally gone since Bush was selected for office.

Bush is completing his script that someone catapulted upon what is supposed to be a free nation. I am starting to be afraid to be here, almost not willing to trust any corporation with my resources in the future. The public education systems in shambles, religion permeates the political atmosphere in an uncomfortable fashion, all under the pen of Sir George.

Once every taxpayer, whether he thinks he's rich, is rich, wants to be rich, or just surviving, realizes, especially those hurting the most, it is up to you as a citizen. Just think, if you let these free lunchers get relected on your dime, you actively participate in the Indian debaucle romanced upon Bush this weekend. This should cause serious alarm among the free lunch crowd, but it probably won't. He did'nt visit the impoverished indians,
only the elite educated ones working outsourced jobs.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pay attention to American issues, slowly eroding, pretty much gone of you're
just an average joe. Other possible other uncounted impeachable offenses that
should demand a serioius investigation, when? like, yesterday.
The refusal of independent investigations is not American.
Everyone better do a wake-up call very soon, before it's too late,
and many of those getting the free lunches just ain't in the room.

IT's UNELECTION TIME. LET THEM THINK WE ARE STUPID.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The machinery behind Bush needs to be rechecked by Universities like MIT, other public funded universities, since there seems to be nothing possible by independent investigations.

Small companies, grad students, others specializing in computer growth programs MUST BE DEMANDED to check machines just because it is American. Universities are here to grow the young old, all into accurate, productive America. I, that's what I believe every day, but it just ain't that way, anymore.

IF the last votes were (a)challenged, (b)popular vote recount positive for Gore, Kerry (c)tremendously large sums for Bush, and (d)the 50/50 vote ties, among possible were investigated, anomalies would appear.

Americans of all races MUST DEMAND BY SCREAMING for accurate vote counting, to make sure votes are counted correctly. We know that Kerry possibly won Ohio, it is still a mess. We also know that Gore won Florida, with intimidation, and vote tampering, so why as taxpaying Americans are we standing for it? The corruption with DeLay, and Abramhoff scandals may continue to unspiral like garbage dump of worms.

I wonder, would we have the Iraqi, American casualties?
