Well, Kerry actually put up a dam good fight.
I'm very surprised that he fought so hard.
I now have more respect for him than i did say a week or so agoe. As for those Loosercrats who decided to vote with the Jesus H Bush party, your scum buckets, you are lower than scum, your back stabbing good for nothing......

there have been more "gates" in the past 5 years than one could shake a big stick at!
2K+ men and women of the US Armed forces have died.
The democrats voted for the stupid war and have yet to say sorry for their vote.
The economy is in the dumps, the rich have gotten richer and the poor, well they were all washed away.
The democrats voted yes on the tax cuts and have yet to come out and say sorry for their vote.
And my favorite thing thus far about my beloved party, becides the fact that half the party is too buissy kissing republican ass and the other half lack the spine to fight, is that in the past 5 years the party has not put forth a single country offer a "if we were in charge we would do....." statement thus far.
I'm sorry boys and girls today is a dark day for our party.
And you girls didn't need rights any way did you?
I mean that glass scealing stuff and that controle over your reproductive system are just over blown left wing ideas any way right?
But you have to give it to the republicans, they know what they are dooing, they contole god knows howmany news papers and Faux news, no attack we could ever mount would be sufficient to change the situations. and if we do make any head way they allways pull out that Jeus/god/9-11 crap that makes our leaders week in the knees.
Here is hoping for a better tomarrow!

that Kerry put up a good fight. He gave a good speech on the senate floor... he is a very bright man....but he spent the weekend before this momentus vote in Davos, Switzerland at a worlwide business summit. He was not in DC twisting arms, cajoling and lobbying his peers...he was making nice with corporate leaders, and likely members of the WTO, the Trilateral Commission and the Bilderbergers. I was not impressed that he "cut his European trip short" for this vote... He should have been on the ground in DC, with Dean, laying down the line for party unity.
P.S. After yesterday, I am in favor of replacing Reid with Menendez as minority whip. Reid sounded more like a wet noodle than a whip.
Plus-
the GOP, the party of unapologetic bigotry, puts their few tokens front and center in an unabashed attempt to court minority votes. When we have firepower, like Menendez, who is no token... I was very impressed by him, --- in the background and put a retiring, vanilla personality like Reid in front to lead the charge... I think we are not playing the hand well at all.
Perhaps there are Senate rules I am not aware of on who is allowed to be the whip... but Menendez has the right qualities.

there is a good panel on impeachment led by David Swanson and Cyndi Sheehan in DC on CSPAN-2 right now 8:38 EST.
They aren't giving up. Cyndi is saying that everyone is talking about impeaching and midterms.... and all the while soldiers are dying every day. She is right..In true support of the troops... we can't just leave them there under permanent stop-loss... we can't give up. We have to keep calling out this administration. We can't just crawl in a hole and give GWB carte blanche to do anything without question.
There have been other forums on this blog about honest republicans who cannot bear the havoc and machinations this administration has wrought. Our continuted opposition will aid those in power, whether they be democrats or republicans, to have the courage to hold the line. It worked on the terror bill, notwithstanding Bush's signing statement. It can work with other issues.
