It is time to call ALL republicans

It is time to start calling, faxing, emailing, and yes, writing letters on lined paper (preferably at your Kitchen table) to all republican senators, the RNC and the Whitehouse.

First of all let me say, HOW DARE THEY? How dare they say that because I have an internet connection and pay attention to politics I don't have a mind of my own. HOW DARE THEY imply that if I am on the Move-on email list, or dkos, or PFAW, or NOW or whoever, that I am somehow not ENTITLED to have my opinion taken seriously. Do you really think that those people with their lined paper letters aren't ORGANIZED? They are organizing in their churches and the Christian Conservative action group meetings. They are emailing. (I get their happy-horseshit stories in my email all the time). They are organizing on the internet, it's just that when they get down to contacting you they are buying lined paper and writing letters. Senator Byrd, those letters you got are no more sincere than any email or call I ever made to you.

But I am not just talking to you Senator Byrd I am talking to the republicans, the MSM and TO DEMOCRATIC POLITICIANS.

And this is particularly to democratic politicians. Who the hell do you think is sending you money, telling people to vote for you, volunteering for your campaign and going to the polls for every single election held to vote for you? Pick up the clue phone boys, it's me. I am doing all those things and I am paying attention to politics every day because I care about this country and I am engaged in the process, so somehow that makes my opinion less valid? That's nuts. Don't you DARE take me for granted.

Things have changed kids, we have the internet and we know how to use it. The days of us showing up at the polls with a vote and having no idea who you are or what votes you have supported...those days are over.

I might not be threatening to leave the party, but I know how to encourage a primary challenge and I know how to let people know how well you have represented the american people and when you have been sleazy and who you take money from.

In the meantime, we have some republicans to call and talk to. They are our representatives whether we voted for them or not. They need to look out for us and protect us from bush's abuse of power. They are supposedly conservatives, let them act like it.

You might think calling them is a waste of time. So write them a letter on lined paper, then send them an email, then a fax and them call them. After that use their contact page on their web site and then call all their offices and tell all their aids why Alito should not be confirmed.

Do you think republicans don't call, fax and write democrats? They do it all the time. The worst thing that can happen is none of them pay attention to us, but I am guessing there are many republican constituents who feel as we do about the separation of powers and there are certainly plenty of moderate pro-choice women in the republican party. They are probably calling their senators and they could use our help.

Let's give those republicans some help. They want a system of checks and balances as much as we do. There are conservatives who hate the idea of the Unitary President. They are probably calling faxing and e-mailing their senators too, let's help them out.

If we don't call ALL republicans then we are CLEARLY doing less than we can to stop this radical man from a life time appointment to the court. Here is the senate web site:

Don't be afraid they will be annoyed. The religious right has been annoying them for years and it has been effective. Those senators don't need to know what party you belong to, it's none of their business. Just tell them what you think and what you want them to do. Even if they believe you will never vote for them anyway, how active you get against them has to be of concern to them. If they are just to arrogant to care, well then the joke is on them.
