My Letter to the "Alito 48"
I just sent this letter to every Senator on the Alito 48 list. Hopefully it will have contribute to upholding a filibuster.
"Dear Senator,
I write to you today to srongly urge you to support the filibuster of Samuel Alito. While I certainly understand a desire to maintain an active and working Senate, I believe even more important is the preservation of checks and balances for years to come in our federal government. Alito's views, political, personal, and judicial, are completely indefensible, lying far outside the bounds of common sense and public morality. His addition to the Supreme Court would irreversibly damage the Constitution and the country.
Senator, you were elected because your constituents expected to uphold certain values, values like equal rights, a woman's right to choose, a government that does not interfere in the personal lives of its citizens, and a government that does not rule mercilessly, but serves wisely. If you do not vote against cloture, if you allow Samuel Alito to ascend to the Supreme Court, you are allowing for the erosion of these principles. Vote against cloture. Filibuster Samuel Alito. Thank you."

Democrats MUST get off of the Sidelines in Politics !!!
Does it make any sense that some of our elected party officials don't care if we want to filibuster alito ? Apparently, they already have a good job on the sidelines and don't want to mess things up for their future. These red state democrats need to learn what party loyalty is. Our future depends on
accountability in government and alito does not carry that same view. How is it that these few democrats can decide for the whole party that we can let this vote slide ? No damn wonder we are still sittin' on the sidwlines. Get some nerve & get in the game for victory, or get out of the way and let real leaders lead !
You got it. Lead, follow, or
You got it. Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.
P.S. The only problem with doing nothing, is that you can't tell when you're finished.
...far from finished !!!
There is a difference you know in people. Some people live life on a daily basis just minding there own business, and then there are people like us that have to be a part of the process. I damn sure don't want Alito setting the tone for generations to come, he would only add further limitations on the average people like myself. I like Kennedys attitude because he knows what it takes to be a leader, and I admire Kerry too for the filibuster, but don't you think that those 4 or 5 democrats voting for cloture must have something to hide ?
Way to go John ! That letter
Way to go John ! That letter details facts that must be upheld by the senate judiciary. I am sending a copy of it also to my senator Lindsey Graham, who is on the judiciary committee. Thanks buddy !
nice letter
we are in the most critical phase of the war to save our democracy. I am not sure what will happen to us if we do not win this one. We certainly have made our views known to those who in our party who can make a difference. If they still insist on voting for Alito we must put up candidates to challenge them in the Democratic primary, to take our party back.
list of culprits
excellent strategy robin! we need a list of the culprits. No longer will they stay in Gotham City !
nice letter
very nice letter, i have no idea how you wrote it with out using a dozen or so 4 letter words to describe Skuzzito!
you are by fare more restrained than i will ever be.
whats going to happen? who knows
odds are that our spinless gutless democratic leaders will just roll over and take it up the wazoo just like good spinless gutless democrats.
oh well.
when the ship is a sinking what can you do?
International Criminal Court wants George W. Bush
Folks, here is a letter that I sent my senator Lindsey Graham - Write your Senator ASAP !!!!
Dear Lindsey,
Regarding a letter that you wrote me on January 9, 2006. I understand you supporting the President's decision to remove Saddam Hussein from power. As a Republican Senator,
you are obligated to some degree. However, as facts are proving to be, the actions that our President took were illiegal, and the intentions behind the false information which led to this decision, were misguided for reasons of personal gain. Because of his personal gain, our country is still at war with Iraq, our deficit is higher than it has ever been, corruption in congress continues with the budget plan, and we have a nominee for the Supreme Court picked by Karl Rove of the Bush administration.
Time and time again, I have witnessed bad judgements from this Presidency, and I refuse to support anymore of his splendid idea's that only benefit him and his cronies, but takes away the fabric of american culture and society.
And with the Weapons of Mass Destruction, none were ever found. Based on that fact alone, how can our military invade a sovereign country without thinking what the final results could be ? Sure, the Bush administration had an idea of what they wanted the results to be, but no war plans were ever made, which has only led our country into being despised by other countries around the world. In fact I have read that america is being investigated for criminal acts against humans, and nature. The International Criminal Court is starting to breathe heavy down our back, and Bush is looking for every way possible to escape his unjustified actions against other nations, not just Iraq.
This brings me to Alito. By appointing him as a justice of the Supreme Court, our President will have a better chance of escaping any conviction for the horrors of rape, torture, theft, murder, violence and destruction that he so easily put us into whether by acts of aggression towards innocent people, or acts of aggression through a republican congress. Please take a look at the Reverse-Robinhood bill in congress !? That is a fine example of the corruption and greed that sits in this administration, seeking to divide and destroy, rather than unite and grow as God intended for us to do on his earth. Alito's views are not comman with the american public, therefore I urge your support for a filibuster !
H.Res. 375 needs thorough investigation by an independant council. It should prove without a doubt, what the "Downing Street Memo's" spoke about in 2002, that facts were built around the intelligence in the lead up to this war with Iraq. Here is where I need your help ! What are the chances of congress actually passing this resolution to the senate ? I strongly think that this should be done for the good of america. Justice has to prevail according to law, not the President. I firmly believe that Alito would let justice prevail according to the President. After all, Alito believes in unitary government, right !
