Alito and the Nuclaer option
Before you can get everyone behind you, "Do you not think it would be wise to discuss the Nuclear option that the republicans are planning to use?You know they will do it.Hillary referred to the present government as "operating like a plantation."However the bush administration and his cronies seem to have control of the government and they are running it like a Faciests government.
Bush is above the law of the land, he controls house
and senators seemingly Thur the use of the Christan community. They do not see a drug addict/alcoholic falling off the couch
getting carpet burns and having embarrassing bicycle wrecks all over the planet.Will we gain as a democracy if they use the Nuclear option?

Alito
I just called four senators. Each of their mailboxes was full. That either means they're deluged with calls or they don't want to hear from us (indicating they've already decided whether they're for or against the filibuster).
Calling Congress
I too have called ALL of the Senators offices. Full Mail Boxes or just rings forever.
Since they won't take my call I guess I'll have to avoid paying taxes on Monday and Tuesday by taking off work (without pay, ie, no payroll, no payroll taxes paid for that day) and visiting Capital Hill. Some good ol' face time should help.
Do what you can. Take off work and keep calling all day and all night.
It's only one day. Surely you can spare a day for your nation?
Alito/Nuclear Option
What do the Dems have to lose?
Alito and Roberts are two very critical pieces to the Neo-Con agenda.
Stopping Alito would spark a power shift that could save this nation. With Alito on the court, every effort to hold this government and the individules that broke laws accountable will forever be lost. The gross presidentail power the Neo-Cons seek will be absolute. If there is no law to protect us from our leaders, the great American experiment will fail.
Do you really think that after all the Neo-Cons have acomplised, they would ever allow a Democratic President to ever use these powers? Wake-up! They don't intend to ever allow a Democratic President to rise again.
If you don't fight now, then when?
If you don't protect the laws of this land, you will have no recourse to the law anymore.
This is a situation that screams SAVE ME!
Can I have 100 million people, for one day, just stand-up and change the world - YES. They only have to walk out of their homes and stand silent in the street for one day. ONE DAY!!
But will they care enoungh to just silently stand-up for that one day and let their silence speak to power?
I can change the world. But apathy is my enemy and fear is it's army.
So I say to Congress - Stand-up and stand silent. Support the filibuster now!
Defeat the Alito nomination at every cost.
Your choices and options are shrinking. Violent revolution will be the last resort.
Can this county survive the next 10 years of War, Debt, the Loss of Freedoms and Rights, the lose of the national treasury, Mfg. going overseas, intellectual property losses, illegal immigrants sucking our social systems dry, trade policies that destroy the middle class, cuts in educations, dumbing down the electorate, spying on anybody they want, dismiss political corruption and claim it's all OK?
I don't see the Democratic Party or this Democracy in a position of strenth - your question should not be whether the Democracy will have anything to gain, rather you should be asking how much does it have to lose.
What would be your action?
