I certainly hope so.

In Mobile Alabama, Newt indicated he might be a presidential candidate in 2008. "There are circumstances where I will run." He added that he hopes the primary process "will be bipartisan and will emphasize having a serious dialogue instead of a debate." If the location of his announcement is any indication of the potential of a Newt 2008 candidacy (devastation), we should all start campaigning for him now!

With his seedy background, Newt seems to be perfect GOP presidential material.

You many recall that in 1997, Gingrich was reprimanded and fined $300,000 by the House Ethics Committee, the first time such an action was taken against a House Speaker. It seems he had used tax-exempt foundation money to promote Republican goals.  (Does this sound familiar?). He was also found to have lied to the committee during the investigation. But it doesn't stop here.

Do you recall the House Banking Scandal?  In 1992, there were many Congressmen who wrote rubber checks on government money. Newt was one of them. He bounced 22 checks.

You may also remember that while Newt was spearheading the witch hunt against President Clinton for his tryst with Monica Lewinsky, Newt himself was carrying on an adulterous affair with a young Congressional aid, 23 years his junior. And of course, there was the heart warming story of Newt demanding a divorce from his first wife, Jackie, while she was recovering in the hospital from cancer surgery.
