Hope for stronger america in the future!
It's funny our society is so dependent on oil, when ships in the 1600s' weighting tons crossed the Atlantic on the mere power of the wind. It's even funnier that with today's technology such as computers, nano, fuel cells, magnetic power, wind power, solar power, friction power, generators, and batteries that they can not make autos that run with out fuel; Oh! but, then there would be no tax revenues from it and also damage to the economy not to mention bush and friends pockets! Wait a minute our economy sucks already because of the bush oil war and the lapse on the Katrina disaster! Last time I looked Rome built walls higher than 15 foot levies hundreds of years B.C. Oh! I forgot his mind is still in the stone age! Bush empty your pockets! Some people still believe its to spread democracy instead were making more terrorist. Hey it would have been easier to spread if we attacked the weaker Africa and made all of it a huge democracy. Oh, that's right we don't care about them. let them all die. They have no oil. America should have voted for a stronger America! Go on vacation bush for the rest of your term nobody wants to look at your ugly face again until you bow out to the Clinton/Kerry winner in 2008 we will just have to suffer until then. IF were still here!
I can say that bush accomplished one thing as president.he has effectively without out a shadow of a doubt indubitably showed with incongruity of what not to do!

I love your sarcasm
stronger. As Will Rogers once said, "I don't belong to an organized political party. I'm a Democrat".
Yup, the almighty dollar rules the ethics and morals of the wealthy elite. Even those of us that consider ourselves "green" are still amazed at just how much money rules our lives.
But,I believe firmly in the concept of Karma. Not the concept of "good things happen to good people, bad things etc." I believe that Karma is about what we do to ourselves and our own souls (whats this? Did Vince say "soul"? I thought that he was an Deist/Atheist that didn't believe in that revealed religion HooHaa.)Yup, soul. I believe there can be an afterlife, even without a "big guy" in charge. If you live your life in such a way that you do, speak, act, and think in such a compassionate way towards our family, friends, neighbors, you will die in peace and move forward. (Can you dig the good vibes Buddha stuff here as you picture Robin Williams on stage)
I consequently believe that the wealthy elite in charge of our country gave up on their "souls" a long time ago. That is why they act with inpunity in all things. They are not concerned with the hereafter, not as long as the Religious Right is covering their sorry asses and blessing their actions. This makes them look mighty and blessed to the unwashed.
Their actions are based on the only philosophy that counts to them. "He who dies with the most toys, wins."
Okay, I've said my peace. I have to do that every so often. Sorry I stole your forum, Stronger. It just felt right. And I look forward to Jim jumping in here.\
Besides, the Pledge Forum was getting too long.

Huh what oh, I'm awake....
I believe what I can prove and there is certainly a lot left to discover. Along the lines of the former but at right angles to what you said vince I would say the following:
If you ever read Jesus’s words without thinking of everything you have heard about them, it strikes one that he pushes “the kingdom of heaven is on earth”.
(Now I know the flurry into which this sends people. In the literal interpretation of the Bible, a church leader does not have to interpret for the congregation. To do so would be like the Catholic Church and the RR for over a decade claimed the Catholic Church to be the Anti Christ. Still somehow through some RR logic a church leader is still urgently needed so the congregation does not start to “error” in its interpretation. Although again, by RR logic there is only one interpretation to the Bible. But I digress.)
Okay back to “the kingdom of heaven is on earth” and what I can say as minimally true. Repugs have no soul NOW! They do not know what it is to create. To feel humbled and know its back to the drawing board for introspection and new knowledge. Their minds are as they formed them and they do not share in the kingdom of heaven on earth. There are none so blind as those that can not see. They see beauty is so few places.
Worry not, Jim,
For the inconsistant and contradictory are the only constants in the RR universe. If fact, we could call them the Robertson Constants (with apologies to Hubble)
