Bush Hits Record Low of 41% but Zogby Drops Impeachment Question
Zogby's latest poll has dismal results for Chimpy: 41% approve, 59% disapprove, a huge spread of -18%. This includes the "Katrina Effect" as measured by CBS: only 38% approve of Bush's response, while 58% disapprove.
But Rove got to Zogby - even though Bush's approval dropped 4% since the last Zogby poll, they didn't dare ask whether Bush should be impeached.
On June 30, when Bush's approval rating was 44%, 42% favored impeachment. So now, with Bush's approval down to 41%, it's likely that more Americans want Bush impeached than want him to serve out the rest of his term!!!
Ask John Zogby (politely!) why he's afraid to ask about impeachment - and then ask all the other pollsters.
Bush Job Approval Hits 41%—All Time Low; Would Lose to Every Modern President
President Bush's job approval rating took a hit in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, dropping to a historic low of 41%, a new Zogby America poll reveals. The same survey found the nation’s forty-third president would lose election contests against all of his predecessors since Jimmy Carter...
The 41% approval rating marks a precipitous drop in the President’s job rating, which has been slumping in a gradual trend that began in late February.

* “Winner” identified in bold
In a sign of just how severe the damage to the President’s standing caused by Katrina is, the Zogby America survey finds that, despite his re-election [sic] last fall, President Bush would lose to every modern president since Jimmy Carter, the one-term Democrat who left office amid record unpopularity and a presidency rated, at the time, dismally. He would also lose to his own father, who left office amid an economic recession triggered, in part, by a devastating hurricane.

Powell Says U.N. Speech a 'Blot' on Record
Amazing! Things are starting to turn around America!
Tell it to the marines.
Too little, too late - just one more political whore.
A Blot on who's record?
jrushton
Every time Bush open's his mouth it is a blot against his record. And as far as I know everyone has wanted Bush to concentrate on this country since he took office. He had no clue how to keep things going good here and still please his buddies so he started a war to make them rich. He doesn't care about a blot on his record. He figures someone will rewrite history for him before he's done wiping out America for his friends.
Colin Powell is crying
all the way to the bank. The real blot on Powell's record is Michael Powell, so he should stop whining.
Falling like a bag of hammers
It's not over. He's now down to 39% on AP/Ipsos.

Bush's slide
jrushton
Bush probably won't slide much further down the poll.(LOL) His religious followers who have counted on him to turn the Govt., the schools and all social services money over to them will not give up until the bitter end. They've waited too long to be able to rule the world to give up now. Can you imagine Pat Robertson ruling the world? Or giving up for that matter?
Bush Hits Record Low of 38% [Was: Bush Hits Record Low of 41%]
Now it's 38%, according to the latest Newsweek poll:

US President George W. Bush's approval rating has hit its lowest level since he entered the White House in January 2001, a poll by Newsweek magazine showed.
His approval rating stood at 38 percent, while some 52 percent of Americans polled said they lacked confidence in Bush's ability to make sound decisions in a crisis, whether domestic or international, and 45 percent said they did have faith in the president.
Questioned on Bush's ability to handle future crises such as Hurricane Katrina, some 57 percent said they had no faith in the president, against 41 percent who said they remained confident in his abilities.
A separate poll by Time Magazine suggested that 61 percent of Americans thought the government should cut its spending in Iraq to help pay for the reconstruction of hurricane-shattered New Orleans and the surrounding area.
The survey, which questioned 1,000 people on Wednesday and Thursday, also found that 58 percent favored withdrawing troops from Iraq to help with the recovery and reconstruction of the southern United States.
The Newsweek poll found that 49 percent said the Iraq war was not justified, while 46 percent said they approved of Bush's decision to invade.
It was the first time a Newsweek poll showed people who disapprove of the Iraq war outnumbering those who support it.
On the issue of fighting terrorism, seen as one of Bush's strongest points, 48 percent of respondents said they no longer had confidence in the president, against 46 percent who said they did.
Two thirds said they were disappointed with the way things generally were going in the United States, while 28 percent said they were satisfied, according to the poll, which questioned 1,000

Of course the Rovian
Of course the Rovian response to the polls will be, "We don't look at polls -- the American people were polled during the elections, and that's the only one that counts."
That goes along with previous statements by Dubya:
"I am willing to talk with anyone who agrees with my agenda."
"A dictatorship would be easier."
"That's the good thing about being the president see, I don't have to answer to anyone."
"You're either with us, or you're against us."
The fact of the matter is that Dubya and the neocons don't give a rat's ass what the American people think. They only care what their big contributors, the corporations, and the radical religious right think.
They have divided this nation, but they have not accomplished the "conquer" part of the equation yet. It's not only our job to bring this neocon cabal to justice, but to ensure that they never get the opportunity to rise to power again.
Polls
jrushton
No, they just put out their own polls that said only 13% of the people blamed Bush for the delay in the South. Of course they didn't bother to give any more of the statistics.
Most people only catch the news channels on TV and they believe what they say him say. He owns all the newschannels and they repeat what he says. They don't know what a blog is. And if they came to a site like this one they wouldn't believe a word that is said hee because it isn't NBC or CBS.
GMA this morning told how
GMA this morning told how the White House did NOT react to the Katrina disaster until Thursday when Bush saw the images of the people at the Superdome on TV. They did a nice piece on the inaction of our government. They said that National Weather Service was on a conference call to Crawford TX warning how dangerous this storm was going to be and to expect a large loss of life. GMA said that Bush traveled to AZ to have birthday cake with John McCain and mentioned the strumming a new guitar too. Landieu was on there too and she said the the federal government was the one not acting. She said the governor of LA was NOT on vacation and was working the situation the best she could but have no back up from the federal authorities since Bush was on vacation. I am so glad to see some of the press coming out and telling the truth.
