On Tuesday, while New Orleans was drowning and people were dying, the most powerful man in America was strumming.

CNN's resident conservative Jack Cafferty nailed it (video here):

Cafferty: Where's President Bush? Is he still on vacation?
Blitzer: He's cut short his vacation he's coming back to Washington tomorrow.
Cafferty: Oh, that would be a good idea. He was out in San Diego I think at a Naval air station giving a speech on Japan and the war in Iraq today. Based on his approval rating, based on the latest polls, my guess is getting back to work might not be a terrible idea.

Meanwhile oil hit a record of $70.85 per barrel, drowning the economy of the rest of the nation.

Of course, we all remember where Bush was when America was attacked on 9-11, and the world changed forever.

As Bush said to Cindy's crowd, he has a life to lead and is getting on with it - it doesn't matter if it is war dead or suffering southern folks. He is unconcerned.

He seems to "float" above whatever is going on, and appears to be not really engaged. He shows little in the way of any leadership. (He is no good in any crisis!) He just steps out briefly and mouths a few platitudes. Then, at some point there will a visit/photo op to the destroyed area which the media will make a big deal of and continuely replay.
This country deserves/deserved a hell of alot better than George W Bush. But thanks to reasons well all know about, this is what we got.

While planes were flying into the trade center Bush 9(having already been told) decides it's more important to do a photo op with a bunch of school children. Is it fair to say that he should have been in the White House handling the situation like we would expect of the President of our counrty? No, he was on TV pretending that he had no idea of what was happening. When Katrina hit he was on another photo op, while on vacation and fundraising, like he knew nothing about the devastation happening on the gulf coast. Is this guy for real? How can people still turn a blind eye? They must be a crazy as he is. How could anyone believe anything that comes out of this guy's mouth? His actions speak a volume about his character and leadership abilities. He is a deer frozen in headlights while everyone around him is being killed. He just can't take his eyes off those camera lights! He thinks he is a star, a leader, a conqueror, but he is really a chicken running around in a monkey suit. Can't you just see the photo op when he poses as Napoleon? Someone needs to round up Bush and his good old boys and drop them into the Super Dome, that is a photo op I want to see!

Who Will Bush Pick

We have a catastrophic event in the United States. We have men, women and children starving. Their homes gone, their lives washed away. Does George Bush care, certianly NOT!

Who will this Bush pick? Will he choose Americans, will he bring our troops home to protect our people?, very simple quiz....NO!!!

THE UNITED STATES NEEDS IT'S BORDERS PROTECTED AND OUR SOLDIERS HOME TO HELP AMERICANS WHO ARE STRANDED ON ROOFTOPS. THOSE HOLIER THAN THOU THUGS.

He continues to spend billions a day for his own personal war. When the people who pay his salary needs help Bush had rather send that money to the Iraqi.

The GOP Congress who controls this country had rather protect an Iraqi than help an American. IN FACT, THE GOP CONTINUES TO DO WHATEVER THEY CAN TO PUSH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DOWN.

Since we have a GOP controlled Congress there will be no impeachment, which is certainly appropriate, this President should be tried for treason. When any President will put his own agenda first out of stubborness, LIE TO START A WAR, while our soldiers die everyday BECAUSE BUSH LIED ABOUT HIS WEAPONS OF MASS DELUSIONS and now we have millions of people who are homeless, we don't know the death count yet,but it will be staggering, that president should be removed from office.

The RADICAL RELIGIOUS RIGHT, PRESIDENT BUSH'S BASE CARES MORE ABOUT FREEING THE IRAQI PEOPLE THAN FOR CARING FOR THEIR OWN.

THE GOP AND BUSH HAVE SPENT ALL THE MONEY, THEY DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO HELP OUR OWN PEOPLE. BUSH COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO PAY HIS SALARY. HE IS AN ILLEGITIMATE PRESIDENT WHO IS OUT FOR ONE THING, HIMSELF AND HIS FAT CAT DONORS. THEY ARE LINING THEIR POCKETS WITH THIS OIL DEAL.

WE HAVE HAD HURRICANES IN THE PAST, WE DIDN'T HAVE OIL AT $70+ A BARREL. WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE FOOLING.

AS EACH DAY GOES BY THIS MAN DESTROYS OUR COUNTRY A LITTLE BIT MORE, HE IS THE WORST PRESIDENT THIS COUNTRY HAS EVER HAD AND HISTORY WILL WRITE IT THAT WAY.

IS THERE ANYONE IN WASHINGTON ON EITHER SIDE OF THE ISLE WHO CARE ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR OWN PEOPLE.

HOW CAN THIS PRESIDENT WALK AROUND WITH A BIG SMILE ON HIS FACE, STRUMMING A GUITAR, WITH AMERICANS LIVING IN A FOOTBALL STADIUM.

SURE HE SAYS THE MONEY IS THERE......THAT IS ALL HE THINKS ABOUT IS MONEY AND WAYS TO SPEND IT.

WAKE UP AMERICA, YOU ARE SEEING THE RADICAL RELIGIOUS RIGHT AND THIS PRESIDENT AT THEIR FINEST. THEY ARE HYPOCRITES WHO USE GOD TO PULL THE WOOL OVER THE EYES OF THE IGNORANT VOTER.

WHERE ARE THE PAT ROBERTSONS, FALWELLS, THEY SHOULD OPEN THEIR CHURCHES TO THESE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO HOME, IN WACO, TEXAS AT 7TH AND JAMES BAPTIST CHURCH THEY HAVE REFUGEES FROM THIS STORM.

YOU WILL NOT SEE THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT THAT SO PROUDLY HAILS BUSH, THEY DO NOT EXIST, THE TRUE AXIS OF EVIL IS THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT, RUMSFELD AND CHENEY. GEORGE W. BUSH IS A MORON, FRONT MAN, THAT IS WHY YOU SEE HIM STRUMMING A GUITAR.

LIFE WILL GO ON FOR MR. BUSH AND HIS EVIL FAMILY. THEY WILL NEVER BE WITHOUT FOOD AND SHELTER, THEIR TWINS WILL HAVE THEIR DRINKS AND PARTIES, AT OUR EXPENSE.

BUSH AND HIS SECOND TERM ARE OVER. HE IS BEYOND A LAME DUCK. THE WAR IS OVER AND WE NEED TO BRING OUR MEN HOME. WE NEED THEM HERE TO HELP THEIR OWN COUNTRY INSTEAD OF FIGHTING A WAR THAT BUSH STARTED ON A LIE.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THIS COUNTRY OVER THE PAST FEW DAYS PUTS 9/11 IN THE SHADE. NOW BUSHIE, WHO ARE YOU GOING TO BLAME THIS ON?

Bush and his supporters are hellbent on changing this powerful nation into a imperialistic plutocacy. Money draining disasters like the Iraqi quagmire and Katrina help feed into this scheme. Roberts nomination to the Supreme Court could be their turning point, achieving critical mass.

I wonder if Halliburton will get contract to bring in pumps to drain New Orleans. I wonder if Halliburton will sell the people of LA better and improved pumps to protect them next time. Construction material costs are already sky high because of the expanding real estate market and the wonderful war in Iraq. It should be interesting to see if people can even afford to rebuild. This should deflate the new housing market but I'm sure Bush will consider the rebuilding process growth in the economy.

Yesterday, one of the "officials" in Mississippi said this (Katrina/devastation) will be good for the economy. I didn't catch his name, but I'm keeping a watch out for the jackass so I can find out what his name is.
This will all be outsourced to corporations for profit taking and they will own the roads, bridges, water and sewer systems...mark my words.

Mourn not the dead that in the cool earth lie, but rather mourn the apathetic throng, the coward, and the meek, who see the world's great anguish and its wrong, and dare not speak.

This test only has one question, but it's a very important one. By giving an honest answer, you will discover where you stand morally.

The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation in which you will have to make a decision.

Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous.

Please scroll down slowly and give due consideration to each line.

You are in Florida - Miami to be specific. There is chaos all around you caused by a hurricane with severe flooding.

It is a flood of biblical proportions. You are a photojournalist working for a major newspaper, and you're caught in the middle of this epic disaster.

The situation is nearly hopeless. You're trying to shoot career-making photos. There are houses and people swirling around you, some disappearing under the water. Nature is unleashing all of her destructive fury.

Suddenly you see a man floundering in the water. He is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken down with the debris. You move closer . . somehow the man looks familiar. You suddenly realize who it is. It's George W. Bush!

At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take him under . . . forever. You have two options--you can save the life of G.W.Bush or you can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the death of one of the world's most powerful men.

So here's the question, and please give an honest answer:

Would you select high contrast color film, or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?

They paved paradise and put up a parking lot.

I think that I would go with

I think that I would go with the high contrast color film, and hire someone to hand Dubya an anchor while I was loading my camera.

No decision is needed

I don't think that I would have to make a choice. I think that the weight of all of Mr. Bush's sins which are myriad and include the lies and slander of Karl, the deaths of our soldiers and the Iraqi citizens, the assault on nature and all of its creatures, the pandering to the Religious Right with there self-righteous assassination plans, the manner in which he capitalized on the 9/11 attacks, the lack of caring that he shows to any average American, the crimes against democracy that he committed when valid votes weren't counted and Americans were prevented from voting, and finally his total preoccupation with wealth and power would make any effort that I could possibly muster to save him doomed to failure. He really should reap what he sowed. The picture that I could capture as he is sucked under the water would reflect the look on his face as he sees where he will spend eternity. I would capture the ultimate smirk. I am sure that he has never read Dante's Inferno unless it was a comic book version of it. He will however get to know the place intimately as he dwells there forever without either goodness or mercy. My picture would become a reminder that the only thing in life that really matters is that you honor and respect the earth and the creatures that live on it.

Let him suffer

I would rather save him from death than take the photo, I would much rather see him held accountable for what he has done to the world on earth than assume that he is buring in hell. It would be nice to watch him live a life of shame rather than him be made a martyr that you know the right wing media machine would make him

Every time you post this picture of Bush having cake, I just immediately think of Mary Antoinette. While the poor were screaming for bread (and she not having to worry about those kind of problems), she told them to eat cake. The best part of the story is the ending, which I hope, happens here in the U.S. The poor finally sick of the arrogance of the ruling elite and stormed in and overthrew them. I do believe that Antoinette lost her head for her arrogance (I'm not Pat Robertson-ing here).
