Bush Refuses to Meet with Cindy but Sends Lies and Death Threats
On Day 1 of Cindy Sheehan's protest, Chickenshit George refused to meet with her. Instead, he sent local sheriffs out to force her to walk in a ditch along the road, treating her like a dog rather than the mother of a soldier who died fighting Bush's "noble" war. Eventually, Bush sent out two of his top liars, National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley and deputy White House chief of staff Joe Hagin. Here is Cindy's report to Celeste Zappala, co-founder Gold Star Families for Peace:
They told Cindy, George Bush really believed there were weapons of mass destruction, Sadam was a threat, that the war in Iraq is making America safer. We are fighting in Iraq so they we don't have to fight terrorists here, and George Bush sincerely cares about the loss of the soldiers and their families. Cindy had a twenty five minute discussion, as Cindy refuted these tired arguments, and reminded the men that she had met Bush last June and she had felt disrespected and belittled. She said to them 'You are intelligent men, how can you believe what you are saying?'
Apparently Cindy's powerful rebuttal scared the crap out of the White House, because they quickly switched from sweet-talking lies to death threats. Here is Cindy's later report to AfterDowningStreet.org:
Cindy Sheehan called After Downing Street moments ago at 10 p.m. ET to report that the Secret Service is trying to intimidate her and members of Gold Star Families for Peace, Iraq Veterans Against the War, and Veterans for Peace into leaving their protest near President Bush's Crawford, Texas ranch.
This morning Cindy led dozens of protesters as close as they could get to the ranch; they were stopped by local police about five miles away. Cindy and others plan to stay there throughout Bush's five-week August vacation until he agrees to meet with her and other family members of soldiers killed in Iraq and answer their questions about the war.
Throughout the afternoon and evening, however, the Secret Service has been telling protesters that if they stay there they may be hit by Secret Service vehicles. Cindy says, "They've told us this at least ten times. There isn't much room between the side of the road and the fence, and they go zooming by far over the speed limit." Cindy reports the Secret Service already ran a mother and her six year-old off the road. She believes the Secret Service's actions are a clear attempt to coerce her and the other protesters into leaving.
Cindy and others are asking to meet with the Secret Service and local police to ensure the safety of everyone involved. In the meantime, she asks that anyone who can contact the media to alert them to the situation.
If you are able to do this, media contact information can be found here. Please politely let them know what's been happening with the Secret Service, and encourage them to continue covering Cindy's efforts to meet with President Bush.
Members of Democratic Underground are worried about Cindy's safety, and are lighting candles around the country in solidarity. Let's all join them!

What a great idea this is for the Crawford 50 to stay the whole Working Vacation.

Sheehan, who formed a group called Gold Star Families For Peace, has spoken out against the war across the nation. She alleged that Secret Service agents in Crawford were trying to coerce her into leaving. She said the agents have told protesters that if they stay along the road, about five miles from Bush's ranch, they may be hit by Secret Service vehicles. The Secret Service in Washington said it was unaware of any such incidents. "We respect the right of the public to demonstrate to express their views," said Secret Service spokesman Jonathan Cherry. "Our goal is to have a safe environment for our protectees - in this case - the president - and the demonstrators who want to express their views."

that is showing the media starting to respond to the flood of emails and calls. Apparently, the area where Cindy is right now, is being called Camp Casey.
This event could possibly be the beginning of the end for George--he should have immediately gone out and met with her...I can picture Clinton doing this. Bush wont. But either he becomes a hostage on his ranch...or he will have to be flown out by chopper.
Several groups are hearing from Cindy at this time. Despite the SS telling her that she is in danger from fast-moving cars(SS Cars)she is sticking it out.
The idea I got from the thread is that people are climbing into their cars and heading for Crawford. Will take a day or so to get there for many. Two large groups are heading there from Louisiana and California(San Diego).

I hardly know where to start with your misinformation, but just suffice it to say that you represent a typically uninformed so-called Independent.
The only thing you are correct about, is that Cindy Sheehan is indeed an American patriot, and we should all support her. Everything after that, however, is political gibberish, from someone who straddles the fence.

Getting tired of these tired critters who are without committment themselves, bringing up AIRPAC a couple of times and then misspelling Democrats. Democrates? Nah, that isn't correct. Wish we had a gong to ring every time one of these phonies attempts to post.
We do have our share of Quislings...we know them...we know what they have done and are doing. They will ultimately be eliminated.
Still, all those who, in good concience, approved military action, did so based upon Bush's lies and obfuscation. Go after Bush--he is the direct source of the problem/s.

Cindy you are my new American hero!! It is people like you that will bring about change in this country! I wish I could be there right beside you. You are not alone! spark to get a fire going". And, Cindy has certainly been the spark that we have all needed. Especially those that do not support this war and that's probably half the country. I am truly proud of her and hope she will stand firm until the last drop of food is eaten or until Bush talks to her... She deserves that much at least. The support is tremendous.
