The GOP is Certain to Win in 2006 — Unless...

I have frequently been accused of being hopelessly optimistic. Perhaps so: that’s what keeps me going.

But now, for those who thrive on gloom and doom – it's your turn.

Here’s the very bad news: the Democrats will almost certainly lose in 2006 and again in 2008.

Three essential reasons: (a) the GOP and the Bush junta simply cannot afford to lose, (b) they can prevent their defeat no matter what the voters have to say about it (as they have in the last three elections), and (c) apparently the Democratic Party, the media, and law enforcement are unable and/or unwilling to do anything about it.

BTW. Paul Hackett in Ohio

BTW. Paul Hackett in Ohio is neck and neck with the repug competition...

CINCINNATI - A Bush-bashing Iraq war veteran and a Republican former state lawmaker were neck-and-neck in very early returns Tuesday in a closely watched congressional race that could serve as a bellwether for next year's midterm elections.

With 1 percent of precincts reporting, Republican Jean Schmidt had 2,152 votes to 2,087 for Democrat Paul Hackett — a margin of 65 votes.

It's too bad...

Hackett lost. He has it within him to rattle Congress's cage!!! I'd love to hear what he'd say about DeLay. Damn...

Possibly true, but...

That doesn't mean we can't fight it out. I feel we need to rebuild the grassroots. That takes time. But it won't be done by sitting around, so we gotta fight every battle like we fought OH-2. Get active locally and donate when you can to get the grassroots flourishing. That way maybe we can chip away at their lead in 2006 and 2008, maybe retake Congress in 2010 and the White House in 2012. We MIGHT even be able to do it sooner.
