The Democrats have more answers to the problems faced by families in America today. The Democratic Party and the liberal bloggers need to tone down the rhetoric and speculation about the Karl Rove affair. I agree that he is a slime ball and learned his “dirty tricks” at the knee of the master, " Tricky Dick" Nixon and has finally been caught with his hand in the cookie jar, so to speak. But the Progressives need to get down to basics and start pushing the progressive agenda so that the American people will know that there is an alternative to the hypocritical, corrupt, influence pedaling and corporate controlled Republican Party. At this time the American Middle Class is being assaulted on all fronts. The average American family is interested in the jobless economic recovery, the stagnant average income, the outsourcing of high paying jobs with good benefits, the rapid rise in health care costs, quality health care, getting priced out of home ownership opportunity, rapid escalation of education costs, K-12 education, high energy costs, high transportation costs and gridlock, Social Security privatization, fixed cost pension plan funding, illegal immigration, border security, first responder funding, homeland security, the war in Iraq and the war on terror. Finally the average American feels that his or her interests are not being represented in Congress. The corporate, religious right and the wealthy special interests are controlling the legislation that is being passed by the 109th Congress. The following is a clip from the Huffington Post Blog that I totally agree with: “The Democrats have more answers to the problems faced by families in America today. Now is a good time to try and dominate the conversation with those concerns. When people across the country feel certain that the Democratic political leadership cares more about these issues than scoring political points, we will finally benefit from the President’s dropping approval ratings.” Shayne Munger

News events are critical but
News events are critical but even more important is that the battle Democrats use to win by a 2 to 1 margin is now tied. That battle has to do with the appropriate use of government. I just started a forum topic which I hope frames this debate so that people can once again cooperate via the voting booth to create a vastly better life for the majority.
I do not think however that rhetoric with respect to other topics should be toned down. But again, I want us all to put our shoulders behind the bread and butter issues that defined the Democratic Party.
I should note, that I do not believe we can simply run off a list of things we would do. It is time to fight from the position of a tie. We must prove what government can be for.
No way
Did the Republicans hold back with Bill Clinton? No, their unfair attacks benefited them years later. In this case we have caught the white house committing treason and they are waiting for the clock to run out, for something, anything else come up to divert attention. This is all about lying to go to war. Already polls show no-one trusts Bush anymore. 2006 Impeach Bush!
We should simply point out
We should simply point out the facts as they become appenent and don't back down. I do agree though, it's high time we started pushing our agenda harder. I think we need to do what Gingriche did in his Contract With America that won the Republicans the Congress-lay out a deal with Americans and make sure everyone hears it.
