Humvee Armor
Its a well known fact that out troops in Iraq are being under-supplied,and one major concern is the lack of armor on a large percentage of military humvees. The Department Of Defense is trying to rectify this problem but has run into one major obstacle, a single company in Ohio by the name of O'gara,Hess and Eisenhardt holds the legal rights to the humvee armor design and they are incapable of armoring these vehicles in a timely manner. The D.O.D has recently tried to buy the legal rights to the humvee armor design so as to hire additional contractors to get the humvees armored. O'gara, Hess and eisenhardt refused to sell the rights stating it could cause them current and future financial losses. a few days ago the supreme court ruled that government bodies can force private citizens to sell thier property to private business concerns. Converselly why cant the govenment force this company to hand over the rights to this armor design? As a direct result of this companies greed U.S. soldiers are dying, and if you ask me that is TREASON. Please write to your elected officials and let them know, that you know about this, and it is unacceptable.

I posted back in April.
My understanding was that the Senate voted on this and it passed.

yes,but
your earlier post touches on funding being approved,, my post points out that even with funding this one company cant armor these vehicles fast enough,, and they wont allow the D.O.D to bring in other contractors to do it.
That stinks! Big corporate greed
trumping the safety of our soldiers!
That just stinks! ;-(
I will write my Senators.
My Congressman knows I won't vote for him,
( due to his repeatedly regressive Repug voting record)
so he totally ignores me. Repug-Dana Rohrabacher.

With almost $300 billion going to Iraq, you would think
that armour would be the first thing to be added
Halliburton has probably used it all up, frauding
this ignorant government, without giving the troops
what they really need.
