That other Bush

I refer to George Herbert Walker Bush, former President of the United States and father of the current occupant of that office.

For a man who was once Vice-President and then Commander In Chief and head of the CIA, and a congressman, etc etc etc, I am finding his silence thru all that we are experiencing, a bit unsettling. For a man whose father dealt with Nazis, and for a man who once sold guns to Saddam, and who once was the most powerful man in the world, I find his silence while his son trashes the country and demolishes all that America has accomplished in his long and wonderful history, I find his silence bordering on felonius negligence, if there is indeed such a charge. Not that I put much stock in what he would say if he did open his yap. but the mere fact that he allows his sone and his son's henchmen to run amok, is beyond comprehencion.

What?

You think he objects? Don't you imagine he's out celebrating
the price of gold and the millions of new ARM mortgages?

I have long since come to believe that people never mean half of what they say, and that it is best to disregard their talk and judge only their actions.  Dorothy Day

There your answer to his silence , every bomb that drops every bullet that is fired means $$$$ in his pocket , Cheney isn't the only one profitting off of this

Ever notice that most all of the people on the board of directors
at all of these defense companies are people like George Shultz,
GHW Bush, etc.....most of Ronny Reagans cronies?

He's not going to say

He's not going to say anything. He is not going to "stir the pot".
I doubt that anyone in the current BA even wants "Dad" to speak. Or, put it this way, if the BA wanted "Dad" to be talking about things, he would be. Until then, he remains quiet. And - per instructions - you'd only hear him praising his son, not condemning him.
Personally, I don't want to hear from any member of the Bush family, unless it was Dubya admitting to all the lies since 2000, followed by "therefore, I hereby resign"....

The Horror, The Horror

CNN STORY

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush would be "awfully good" in the job of president, but the timing isn't right, his father and former President George H.W. Bush told CNN Tuesday.

Asked if he would want Jeb to run, Bush said, "Someday I would, yes."

Jeb Bush is in his second gubernatorial term, which ends in January 2007. His brother George ends his second presidential term a year later and cannot run again.

"He'd be awfully good," the elder Bush said. "This guy's smart, big and strong. Makes the decisions. And you know, not without controversy, but he's led that state."

But the former president, who turns 81 this month, said, "The timing's wrong. The main thing is, he doesn't want to do it."

But he added, "Nobody believes that."

What a frightening story! Vince, do you still have room in the unibomber cabin?

We know that dictators are quick to choose aggression,
while free nations strive to resolve differences in peace.

Bush, Sr...was almost impeached...

in 1993. --Articles of impeachment had been drawn up and fell through--unfortunate.

Bush-2 wasn't a happy child when Dad lost the election (1994) to Clinton and the failed 'Desert Storm'. --Saddam was a threat to Bush, Sr and he retreated back in 1991-1992. [Saddam was Iraq's tyrant after Desert Storm] till 2003...

--Bush-2 viewed this action as a 'failed attempt' on his Dad's part.

So Dad can only sit back and enjoy the massacre and daily reports of bloodshed and failed missions and the downfall of Saddam. --

This is why Bush-2 had 'motive and opportunity'; to start the worst war in the history of wars....based on revenege, guilt, failure, greed, oil & money w/ absolute power.
