Rally and Volunteer to Save the Filibuster!
With Senate Majority Leader Frist on the brink of going "nuclear," pro-filibuster activists will join together today (Monday) to rally to save our checks and balances and stop the "nuclear option." I hope you can join us!
Who: Senators, National Leaders, & Activists
What: Rally to Save the Filibuster
When: Monday, May 23, 4:15 pm
Where: "Senate Swamp" at the corner of Constitution and Delaware Avenues, across from the Russell Senate Office Building
(map: http://www.aoc.gov/cc/cc_map.cfm)
Also - whether or not you can make this rally - we still need volunteers at the PFAW "nerve center" 2000 M Street, NW DC, Suite 400 (5th floor)
Metro: Dupont Circle (Red Line) / Farragut West (Blue/Orange Lines)
Today Monday, May 23 through Thursday, May 26 - 9 am to 9 pm
Friday, May 27 - 9 am to 6 pm - the home stretch
RSVP for both events: Kristin Bateman; volunteer@pfaw.org or 202-467-2393
Please let your friends and family know about this as well. We want to make a huge showing of support for our fundamental checks and balances. We can stop this partisan power grab!
We'll have homemade signs on hand, but feel free to make and bring your own.
See you soon,
Kristin Bateman

Deal reached on filibuster...
http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/05/23/filibuster.fight/index.html
No details as of 8:00 EST. The freepers are freaking out over at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1408980/posts.
Hee, hee...
Freepers are sooooo cute...
Golfmonkey, thanks for linking the freeper freakout.
I just heard about the deal on 'World News Tonight'. I was bummed about the Supreme Court nominees! Then, I read the freeper blog. Hell, if they are that freaked out and feel that " the GOP caved in", it's not all bad!
The filibuster is not dead. That is good news.
