My suggestion is that Democrats.com establish its own book publishing company or else publish a book manuscript online, even if we have never had a book published before so that the viewers can read it and rate it.

It would be like a 5-star rating system. If the book is rated at 4 or 5, then the readers could recommend the book to a publisher to be published in hardback or paperback, or else the readers could recommend a publisher to an author.

I should be able to cut and past different excerpts of my book into your forum with no problem, but I do have a problem.

My Internet Service is America Online. That shouldn't matter, but for some reason when I have tried to cut and paste from my send outgoing email box to the forum, it has not transferred.

Am I doing something wrong and/or is there a step I am missing, or does my Internet provider just not allow it to be cut and pasted to the forum?

If this isn't possible, would it be possible for you to make up an email address just for book publishers and then you could add a little bit at a time, as I send it chapter- by-chapter to the forum?

Respectfully, I thought all along that is what I was doing, but I have never heard back from you, so I am wondering if my book even got noted? Or else, maybe it has, but I just don't know where to look for it.

I think you could provide an excellent service in helping new progressive authors to become recognized or at least to
give them exposure, and then they could get feedback on where to get their book formally published, or else sell their book for a little less online first, and then later get it published.

I like the book rating idea the best. If it rates a 4-star or 5-star, we can be quite sure that it would be marketable.

I have an idea of what I want to get out. In this day of impending tyranny in our nation, we cannot afford to let any idea go by, not even one, that might be helpful. We atleast need to keep the human spirit afloat. I think my book will help to do that. Not only my book, but other aspiring book authors, as well.

Not everyone will like my book because no book, even the best, is liked by everyone, but depending on what you are looking for, I think that quite a few progressive readers will enjoy my book and get some ideas and inspiration.

I take a little different approach. For instance, my view of life is not evolution without creation nor creation without evolution. I think it was possible for both to happen and that both did happen and are happening. But my book is not composed of just one idea about one word, one concept, or one subject. There are many ideas in my book. Any reader will like some ideas better than others even in the same author. So I hope you will take the ideas in my book that work for you and either use them as they are or use them to generate more new ideas. I hope there will be something in my book that all can benefit from, although all ideas may not be equally palatable.

My book leads one to wonder why the Right-wing only has room for one point of view on how life came to be and yet,
at the same time, the political Right rails against those who want to protect the very creations they profess to believe in. It doesn't add up, does it?

I think there are plenty of progressives like myself who believe in both creation and evolution and can also imagine the immortality of the soul. But there are not many Right-wing creationists who believe in preserving the wonders of nature which are a part of creation.

As progressives, this is the time to let our lights shine, not hide them under a bushel. Maybe one idea in my book could save a life or at least help us to stay a float at in these very perilous times. My book has many ideas for keeping the human spirit afloat, because heading into a totalitarian form of government, we will need the human spirit more than ever if we are to survive in this nation with any dignity at all.

I make these suggestions because it would take me months, maybe years, to key every word of my book into the forum and waste much ink and paper and time that i may not have left. I suspect others have that problem, as well, and still others can transfer it from their Internet service.

I haven't got years. I don't think any of us have. We are running now just to keep up with the political oposition which is fast overtaking us, so no one has years, maybe not even weeks.

Again -- my idea --

(1) Your Own Progressive Book Publishin Service, for example -- Democrats.com Books that would be accessible to all members of Democrats.com and other Progressive Organizations. Sure publication for all Democrats.com members.

(2)An email address that is just for book manuscripts and one of your staff or someone who has time to read them. This is for us who cannot cut and paste from our Internet online system to the forum but could to an email address that your technicians could transfer to the forum or to be read online.

(3) A book rating system for Democrat.com members to give an idea of how well the books will sell if the authors choose to put them online, and/or in connection with another company such as Amazon.com or Barne's and Noble. Maybe an excerpt or two from the book would be all that would be needed for the rating system.

This is not intended to ask for a hand out for me or for others, but it is intended to be a hand up.
