"STOP HILLARY NOW"

Is the "STOP HILLARY NOW" campaign effort...regarding the Republicans motive to start an early 'negative and explosive attempt'; to bring Hillary down --will it 'explode in their face"?

--- If the Republicans plan to 'succeed' with 'negative tactics against Hillary'....(SwiftBoat Veterans et al) --this would almost ensure to be the wrong path to take in order to succeed at their own game.

Threats and intimidation are signs of 'insecurities'.

YD Blues, I knew GW/Rove had dragged McCain's name

and reputation through the mud, but I didn't know how they did it. This BS tactic is typical of Rove who will stoop to new depths to get what he wants. Right you are, this is the crap they pulled on McCain, this is the crap they will pull on us!

YD Blues, I missed 'Mad Max', but the

character Master Blaster sounds just like Karl Rove. I did rent the DVD 'Bushs' Brain'.
I saw what makes Rove tick, success at any or anyone's cost. There is ice water not blood running through that man's veins.

the GW/Rove BS

The smear campaign was worse than that -- and nobody owned up to it.

The anatomy of a smear campaign
By Richard H. Davis, 3/21/2004

It didn't take much research to turn up a seemingly innocuous fact about the McCains: John and his wife, Cindy, have an adopted daughter named Bridget. Cindy found Bridget at Mother Theresa's orphanage in Bangladesh, brought her to the United States for medical treatment, and the family ultimately adopted her. Bridget has dark skin.

Anonymous opponents used "push polling" to suggest that McCain's Bangladeshi born daughter was his own, illegitimate black child. In push polling, a voter gets a call, ostensibly from a polling company, asking which candidate the voter supports. In this case, if the "pollster" determined that the person was a McCain supporter, he made statements designed to create doubt about the senator.

Thus, the "pollsters" asked McCain supporters if they would be more or less likely to vote for McCain if they knew he had fathered an illegitimate child who was black. In the conservative, race-conscious South, that's not a minor charge. We had no idea who made the phone calls, who paid for them, or how many calls were made. Effective and anonymous: the perfect smear campaign.

Some aspects of this smear were hardly so subtle. Bob Jones University professor Richard Hand sent an e-mail to "fellow South Carolinians" stating that McCain had "chosen to sire children without marriage." It didn't take long for mainstream media to carry the charge. CNN interviewed Hand and put him on the spot: "Professor, you say that this man had children out of wedlock. He did not have children out of wedlock." Hand replied, "Wait a minute, that's a universal negative. Can you prove that there aren't any?"

KarlaBro, This makes me sick!

It is typical Rove machine work. If there is nothing to hurt or damage the opponent with, then make something up! With the right spin, the scandal hungry will gobble it up. Facts, who needs facts?

What goes around, comes around.

Good ah as mentioned I dont like Hillary Clinton because she has a field of topics that is disgusting.
Furthermore I want to express we got 2006 first.
In fact Hillary is in the race, at least shes in the senate.
Alright my personal idea of this Republican attack (idea) is: Hillary is senator of NY and DeLays in the dirt so whos famous ass we could kick in revenge?: right, Hillary's.
Good i mean one has to provide some support for her because this attack is ridiculous because - as I mentioned before - shes not the DeLay trace and track down machine - her field of topics is disgusting. But in fact to grill her ass in revenge for grilling DeLay hits the wrong one.

I wonder!

Does anybody here think that the Bush machine would fall completely apart if Rove just suddenly, oh I don't know, disappeared?

Sorry, I forgot

we are being watched. I LOVE KARL ROVE AND WOULD NEVER WISH ANY HARM TO COME TO HIM. HIS SUPERIOR INTELLECT COMBINED WITH HIS AMAZING WIT MAKES HIM MORE A MATCH FOR ME. THAT MUST HAVE BEEN A DIFFERENT VINCE TALKING.

Right on, Stinger! That's how the bottom-feeders

(my apologies to the fish) play it. Our country's political ecosystem needs to get rid of these bottom-feeders.

Wow! It's been one big project!

Lisa, that poor Pleco!

Is he safe with the Auratus hanging around?

LOL

They seem to be hanging in there; it ate it awhile ago, and they are still alive! I just hope that it doesn't kill one, or both, cause they are very handy in keeping the tank clean (hence "bottom-feeder").

Best of luck to you and

Good idea, Jim. Maybe separate tanks?

Auratus sounds like "ate us". Couldn't help but notice the almost-a-homonym. I'm home sick with the flu. Everything is interesting, right now.

Thanks, YD Blues.

Maybe I should rephrase Rove and his tactics as bottom-feeder food .

They fear Hillary! She is a very strong candidate for 2008.(although in my opinion good but some others I like better) I know Republicans who say they would vote for Hillary(If they like her why didn't they like Kerry? Their logic is weird) This is good I think she has a very good chance of winning and these early "attacks" make me more sure of it

The Atheist Bible(My website)

Absolutely. I think Hillary has graduated from

basic training in dealing with the GOP smear campaign machine. Just look what they put her family through with the Monica Lewinsky mess! Hillary is one tough lady. She's not putting up with any more BS and she will fight!

After all that she still remains VERY popular... Heck look after that look at the base Bill still has... The Clintons are VERY strong in public eyes.

We were discussing that in a class of mine today. I said the same thing, that she is a very strong woman and she can obviously handle a lot. Then this bush-loving chick goes, "I think she just puts on a front for the media. She can't handle the pressure. She won't make it." I wanted to jump across the room and choke her.

SarahLynn,welcome to our blog.

You might mention to Bushchick that if Hillary " couldn't handle the pressure", then how did she and Chelsea pull through the pressure cooker of the Lewinsky scandal? They both pulled through with dignity and grace.

Hillary, no lost time, map in hand

When a new adminstration takes over it must be like being in a strange country, and for democrats one laiden with mines in unknown locations. Everytime a democrat gets in, the repugnant ones loose their mock patriotism and actively try to destroy the governmental process by destroying the democrats, and vice versa. Much of this they do with media campaigns. They are very afraid Hillary will win, she has the road map to the mines, and blowing her out of the water hasn't stopped her yet. More than that she might accomplish something, they wouldn't waste their time on her if they did not fear her.

Concerned about her spine . . .

I've really wondered how a woman with a wide reputation for being totally womanized, without throwing the guy out, could possibly impress anyone that she has the strength to now lead a nation.  Mostly what I see is her anger spewing forth on every count.  In speeches, she seems to just rage on and on.  She seems to associate ranting and raving with winning.  She's pathetic.  I wait for the day when we can elect a woman with character and strength, inner and outer, a woman candidate who will represent to others what I want for our nation.  Somehow, it is also extremely difficult imagining him ever entering the oval office or White House again.  While I do think we have a woman, I think we don't need to accept the first one who comes along.

OH, I think she has plenty of spine...

try and remember that Hil had the Repugnants calling her 'The Steel Magnolia' for the 8 years she has already spent in the white house. Most of the writers of the 'techno-thrillers(Clancy, Brown, et al)called her the same in their widely-read war novels.

I don't think any of us have ever seen the 'real' Hillary in action. We had high hopes of seeing blood flow when she became a senator and have been disappointed. Big difference between running for the Senate or the Presidency and being a Senator/President.

She doesn't appear to be the fighter that Shirley Chisholm was--perhaps battler would be a better description.

For all the naysayers, Hillary may just be the nominee.

She is DLC, no doubt about that.

A mind once expanded can never return to its original dimensions.

The greatest derangement of the mind is to believe in something because one wishes it to be so.

The Republicans are so

The Republicans are so smart...   they know that attacking her now will rally people behind her and get her the Democratic nomination...  and then she will lose the general election.

Hillary cannot be the Democratic nominee...   if the Dems want the whitehouse back...  or more importantly if we want to see any real change in Washington.

The Republicans want her to win because she will continue to feed the Military Industrial Complex in the same way they do.

Death of the Democratic Party

If Hillary wins.. I will vote Republican

Moderator's Note: This obvious troll is no longer with us...

You gotta be a troll...

because any progressive in their right mind, might, just might, in a state of miff, say... I will vote green... or I will not bother to vote...if they don't like the DNC nominee... but would NEVER say they would vote republican in the 2008 election and keep the deck stacked with 2 of the 3 branches of government in GOP hands to maintain and further the Bush/Cheney plan to undermine freedom, democracy and the working American.

TROLLS WANTED

Please ask the following of any, and all, very conservative men:

Does a women have the psychological profile needed to run a Nation as President?

I've found they tend to hang themselves in front of fellow voters (often their wives) ;)

Qualifications? I got your qualifications right here...

Given the Bush profile for example:

a. Think they are always right
b. Never forgive/forget a mistake
c. Spend money that they don't have

If so, then I submit that ONLY women have the psychological profile needed to be President. I guess this makes Bush a woman.

(God, I hope my wife doesn't see this...)

You're...

...on your own!

Got a problem with that?

Let's move on...

We'll forward your argument to all interested parties (wife, etc.):

"Women can't but your wife can."

Now where did I put your mother in laws email address???

Didn't mean you, bro

That was a preemptive strike at the crapstorm that would've been coming my way from those that haven't been exposed to my brand of sarcasm.

Well lets...

...give our brethren on the Right some help ;)

Don't make me

take off my shoe! =)

Usama bin Forgotten

The "fault lies not with thy brother......."

.......but just may lie within ourselves (as the old cliche' goes).  That is, the GOPpers may be counting on an BARACK-HILLARY feud to fester.  A sort of "divide & conquer" scenario.     DON'T  LET IT HAPPEN !

Both the Obama and Clinton peoples need to focus on the BUSH-McCAIN teams and what they've done to the country (and world)  and let us Dems (not the "ROVEs" decide).

BARACK-HILLARY feud

It is not a feud. It appears to be more than that. Clinton demanded that Obama reject and denounce Louis Farrakhan, even though Farrakhan is not involved with the Senator's campaign. However, when Geraldine Ferarro not only made her ridiculous statement but topped that with her paranoid and racist defense, Clinton did not quickly reject or denounce Ferarro's statements nor did she ask for her fundraiser's immediate resignation. It was hypocritical on her part, especially after her attack on Obama. She has done more damage to the Democratic Party, and to herself, in the past few weeks by her attacks, whether she or a surrogate carries them out. I hope that if Obama is the nominee he does not offer Clinton the Vice Presidency.

Barack-Hillary Fued

I'm not sure those comments amount to a feud. These two candidates simply approach politics differently.

Senator Clinton, for her part, saw an opportunity to hang Senator Obama with his own words when he first shied away from the word "reject". She was grabbing whatever opportunity she could find to paint her opponent as an extremist. Politicians have always done stuff like this.

Obama, for his part dismissed the whole issue by both "denouncing and rejecting" Farrakhan. The message was "Fine, I'm not going to engage in political silliness like this. If it'll move us along to real topics, then I'll say what you want to hear." Honestly, I think Obama has been very good at ignoring the silly non-issues that get thrown his way. (Does he wear the proper jewelry, what's with that middle name, that african costume sure looks silly) It's completely consistent with his message of changing the political tone in this country. He doesn't do nonsense - period.

As for Ferarro, there's a small grain of truth in in what she said. Senator Obama probably wouldn't have been chosen as the keynote speaker at the Democratic convention if he wasn't African-American - and he may not have achieved the level of fame that he enjoys if that was not a part of his persona.

What I don't understand is this: Ferarro's been around awhile. She should know that if she brings up Obama's race, she will be seen as trying to paint Obama as the candidate for "black America". She'll be seen as trying to limit his appeal to Jesse Jackson's or Al Sharpton's constituencies - limiting his appeal to white voters. She should especially understand this since Bill Clinton was just hung for the very same tactic. Is this what Ferarro or Bill Clinton were trying to do? I don't know. But I know that some things are simply better left unsaid.
