The Doctor is in

Every four years, a few months before the presidential election, the Democratic Party puts staff and resources on the ground in a few battleground states ... and then they're gone. After November the whole operation disappears. Then, four years later, we do the same thing all over again. That hasn't worked. And I ran for chairman on a promise to do it another way. So a few days ago I met with the state party chairs, and we made a decision together. For the first time ever we're going to build for the future by putting staff and resources on the ground early -- starting in 2005, not 2008. The first four states: North Dakota, Missouri, North Carolina and West Virginia. How soon the next 46 states get moving depends on you -- can you make a contribution now?

https://www.democrats.org/support/stateparty.html?dsc=N...

You mandated a party built from the ground up, and that's exactly what we're going to do. The half-million dollars we're investing in these first four states will pay for professional organizers -- the key staff who will develop skills and help build a permanent network of Democrats at the grassroots level. But we cannot stop here. It's your party, and it will only grow with your help:

https://www.democrats.org/support/stateparty.html?dsc=N...

I am personally dedicated to making sure that every single state has the resources and infrastructure to compete at every level of office. To do that, we need a Democratic Party that commits to a long-term presence in every state, every region, and every community. I can't wait to announce that we're moving into the next group of states -- but the timetable is up to you. Your $100 contribution grows the Democratic Party faster, and will immediately make us more competitive:

The Republican Party isn't waiting. They have been building for years, and every day that slips by means another opportunity missed. This is your time. This is your challenge. Let's get to work -- together. Thank you. Governor Howard Dean, M.D. Chairman, Democratic National Committee P.S. -- Please tell every Democrat you know -- no matter where they live -- that together we're building a truly national Democratic Party. Ask them to join us now:

I was so happy to get this email

I was so happy when I got this email!!! Dean says that the first states he is going to work in is ND, MO, NC and WV. Yippie! Ive been working trying to convert some people around here. I surely hope that Dean can beat some sense into some peoples heads around here.

War does not determine who is right, war determine who is left.

I'm so happy about Dean and

now he can scream his ass off and no one can "do" anything about it! Whoo hoo! What garbage that spin was!

Yuhhuh!!!

Go Dean, Go Democrats!! I got it too! Me, too!!!!

Yawn...

I got it also. It's getting so that I can't sort out real news from their fundraising fishing expeditions. I realize that it's necessary, but I'm getting weary of being asked for money no less than 3 times a week.

Poor Baby

Sorry we hurt your feelings GM, I didn't know this was all about you...

........my badd

YYYEEEEEEAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHHH !!!!!

Changeling, is there a problem here?

Problem? There's no problem.

Problem? There's no problem. I must have posted on the wrong site , thats all.

I thought I was posting on a site that was angry about the Democratic Party being owned by corporate America.

My badd, I thought Howard Dean would be appreciated by everyone around here.

Your's truly, The Tooth Fairy

..........................YYYEEEEEEAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHHH !!!!!

What is your problem with my

What is your problem with my assertion that the DNC fundraising is dysfunctional? Would comparing cancelled checks make you feel better about my posture on this?

Hugs and kisses, the Easter Bunny

I'm under the impression that

I'm under the impression that most people on this site DO appreciate Howard Dean. DNC owned by corporate America? Aren't you referring to the DLC?

Dean hasn't had time to clean up the fund raising machinery left in place by Terry and his DLC masters, so yes, there IS a problem with their methods.

As far as to whether you have posted on the wrong site, that is a question that you will need answer for yourself. The rest of us are pretty sure as to why we post here.

I know how you feel

Being a Thursday's child, I am lucky to have the money for the next time the car breaks down, which seems like a monthly deal. Anyway, getting nothing from the DNC except requests for money reminds me of the ultra liberal Presbyterian church which used to have 3 collections every Sunday. One for the church, one for the building, and one for someone's pet project or cause. It got so you couldn't leave the chapel without cashing a bond.

Then Jim Dean comes to town. For twenty dollars you can bask in his atmosphere...for $100 you get to have an audience.

This is just the sort of crap that drove plain folks away from the party in the first place.
Latte anyone?

My complaint is that the DNC'

My complaint is that the DNC's right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. The databases they have, online, direct mail, state, and local are not linked. When they email asking for donations, they have no idea that I just flipped them a check a week earlier from a phone request. Furthermore, my wife and I both contribute individually but there is no linkage between us in any database. And this in just with the DNC.

The problem is not as bad as with the PDA, DFA or MoveOn (to whom we also contribute) as they are purely national.

Is it me, or am I just being self-centered again?

I've had the same problem. I

I've had the same problem. I almost lost it with a phone solicitor the other day when I was trying to explain that I make all of my donations on-line. He kept insisting that I "pledge" an amount over the phone because the money went to a "different" account.

I very politely hung up on him (I didn't slam the phone.)

Thanks for clearing that up

I had just donated $100 to the DNC from a phone solicitation, then I get an email asking for more money.

Why does Howard Dean think he

Why does Howard Dean think he's the party leader. Why can't he just make us some money. And if he's going to do this, why not go after Ohio or Florida...Florida's in danger of Republican solidification and Ohio is getting dangerously close to becoming a Republican bastion.

Dean is the party leader

Hello, Dean is the party leader! A little organization called the DNC elected him as leader. Dean isn't just going to fight in just a few states, he says he is going to put the ENTIRE country back into play for elections. It is crazy that only 8 - 12 states determine election outcome. I hate knowing ever time I go to the polls that my vote doesn't count because I am in a RED state so I gald to see this move. It's time for some people to get some knowledge.

War does not determine who is right, war determine who is left.

Howard Dean a Democrat?

I'm afraid all of the "Moderate" Democrats can't be trusted NOT to betray us. They have over and over for four years. They give the Republicans all they want.

I balled out Obama and Bean about their supporting Republican bills. I don't think they care. Obama's phone person even hanging up on me when I asked how he voted. Very arrogant. Or was it a Republican?

Howard Dean supports the war and Bush (even though he denies it). He is all noise and very little substance. It is a way to negate our power. It is a "dog and pony show" to make us contribute and then lose. Is there outrage from Howard about the bankruptsy bill? Nope.

Time to get a petition and remove them from office...maybe they might listen to what we want after that? Not an Arnold Swartzengunner move but a real demand for a "real Democrat" to replace them. I sick of them and their lies...from both parties.

MoveON is a good motivator and raises a lot of money but I think they are being used. Do you agree?

After the election of 2004, you could tell who was the real Democrat by their outrage over the stolen election...again. Very few of them objected or even protested. So...we have very few or no Democrats left wouldn't you say?

I don't know what "Other-Left

I don't know what "Other-Left" Party you belong to, but Howard Dean is the Chair of the DNC and is well respected by the members of this blog.

It is not the DNC that we are focusing on, but the corporate whores of the DLC, and the MSM presstitutes. You would do well to do a little research on the other threads on this blog before launching an attack.

At least it's not Terry

I am glad that it was only Howard Dean who e-mailed me. I am very happy that I will never hear from Terry McAuliffe again. I hope that the same goes for James Carville. Those two I really didn't like. I did get an e-mail again from my friends at the RNCC. Now, I am invited to a presidential dinner on June 14. Wow. I need to call Vera Wang for my outfit. Maybe, I can meet Condi. I may get mad at the Democrats for giving up too soon, but the Republicans make me sick.I may be getting appointed to a post at the NIH at this dinner if I pay two million dollars to go. Even better, some Republican congressman can send a letter to the Nobel Prize nominating committee.I am only kidding.

Schiavo Case to Be Used Against GOP

WASHINGTON - Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, who has accused congressional Republicans of "grandstanding" in the Terri Schiavo case, said his party will use it against the GOP in coming elections.

"This is going to be an issue in 2006, and its going to be an issue in 2008 because we're going to have an ad with a picture of (House Majority Leader) Tom DeLay saying, 'Do you want this guy to decide whether you die or not? Or is that going to be up to your loved ones?'" Dean said in West Hollywood, Calif.

Dean, answering questions at an Access Now for Gay and Lesbian Equality event on Friday, went on to say: "The issue is: Are we going to live in a theocracy where the highest powers tell us what to do? Or are we going to be allowed to consult our own high powers when we make very difficult decisions?'"

Republican National Committee spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt said Dean, a physician who practiced internal medicine, was the one politicizing the issue.

"It's disturbing that Howard Dean would plot to use the life of Terri Schiavo for political gain," Schmitt said Saturday. "This demonstrates a troubling lack of sensitivity and one would hope that Democrat leaders in Congress would reject such a strategy.

Karen Finney, Democratic National Committee spokeswoman, defended Dean's comments, saying they were not a reflection of him trying to politicize the issue, but rather he was speaking to "Republican intrusiveness into people's lives."

"This is another example of a Republican party that is overreaching," she said. "Tom Delay and his cronies want to intrude in personal family matters. Democrats believe that individuals and their families should be trusted to make these very personal decisions, not Tom DeLay and not the government.
