Win Ohio! Get on the Phone to Get Out the Vote!
Get on the Phone to Get Out the Vote! (forwarded by a friend)
Party for America launched its biggest program for ACT: 100,000 phone calls to under-voting Kerry supporters in central Ohio. These are folks who have voted no more than once in the past 4 years, and have already said that IF they vote, they will vote for Kerry.
The election hinges on them.
They are not being counted in the polls, but they have been courted by ACT for more than a year now. If they vote, we win Ohio and the election. The first volunteers stepped up to phone. Since then, 12,050 calls have been distributed, 50 at a time, to 201 volunteers. The response has been awesome - and appropriate for the awesome responsibility we all share today.
Make your 50 calls.
I know you are busy with important action, and I do not wish to distract you from your work. But I know that these three hours will be three of the most productive hours you can spend getting rid of this abomination in Washington.

Crazy Court Ruling Frees Republicans to Intimidate Minority Vote
AP: "A federal appeals court has cleared the way for challengers to be present at polling places throughout Ohio, ruling early Tuesday that their presence on Election Day was allowed under state law. A three-judge panel of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 to grant emergency stays of two federal judges' orders Monday that barred voter challengers from political parties.... The dissent by Judge R. Guy Cole said the citizens of Ohio have the right to vote without the 'threat of suppression, intimidation or chaos sown by partisan political operatives.' Cole said that partisan challengers are seeking to target precincts that have a majority black population, and that when 'the fundamental right to vote without intimidation or undue burden is pitted against the rights of those seeking to prevent voter fraud ... the court must err on the side of voters....'" Democrats planned for racist Republican efforts to suppress votes, and plan to watch at the polls to protect voters' rights. http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/ats-ap_politics11nov02,0,7649699...
