It is a fun idea

wouldn't it be great if thousands of people went to the site and showed serious interest? Of course it would take a few million to actually get anything done, but it would send a message to FOX if they got a few hunderd thousand. ;)

I went to the site, and climb

I went to the site, and climbed aboard. It's good to see someone is trying to do something about FOX News, the sorriest excuse for a news channel I've every seen.

'a la carte' cable pricing

There was a post along the same lines a few days ago. I'm wondering why there isn't greater pressure by Democrats for so-called 'a la carte cable pricing.'

Right now, operators (DirecTV, Time Warner, et al) collude with content creators (ESPN, Fox) to force channel menus to all subscribers. Operators pay creators a per-user fee for channels (example: ESPN raised its rates to around $5 per basic package subscriber). The operators then force fixed channel lineups down our throats. We end up paying for 8 ESPNs, 4 channels of people building/destryoing things, etc.

The FCC recently looked at a la carte pricing, but the cable cos lobbied to stop the process. In an a la carte world, we wouldn't be forced to pay for channels we never watch (like Faux).
