That's a pretty good price for a notch filter...they've been around for quite a while. That's how the cable company used to keep you from seeing HBO on an analog system until you payed for it. An inline notch filter for the HBO channel would keep you from seeing anything more than static or maybe a real distorted picture with a little sound. I love the line about "innovative new product" and "proprietary technology" on the website. How about "Yesterday's Technologies for Today's Problems"!
I'm still surprised at the low price, tho...must have bought a bunch of those at a surplus auction, or found a low-price source.
The news article doesn't give details, but I'm assuming this isn't a universal device. I don't know how cable TV "really" works, but I assume this device only blocks a certain channel number. So it has to be customized for whatever cable system you're on, since FNC has different channel numbers on different cable systems.
Any techies out there who can confirm/deny this?
Especially in regards to blocking on proprietary cable networks (hotels, hospitals, etc.), I'm not sure how it would function.

As described above, it is a "notch filter," and filters out a specific channel on your set. When you purchase the device, you have to select the channel that Fox News uses in your particular area. For more details go to:
thought I would post the last paragraph at the bottom of the home page.
P.S. All you hate mailers out there (750 or so today) quite sending me "CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NPR and the BBC are left wing liberal hippies......." without EVIDENCE. If you are going to send it, send it with FACTS. Just saying it makes you sound like the stupid, ignorant, uneducated hillbilly you are.
Update your address so we can find your Senators and Representative. If your current address is correct but your Representatives are missing, please contact us so we can fix your data.
Take one when you travel, & leave it on the hotel TV.

It appears however, that their site is overwhelmed with traffic, as it took me a few minutes to get on.
Just visited and bought,
