Why Hillary Can't Win in 2008
We Democrats tend to think that the Republicans, Conservatives, Crossover Democrats, and others that put Bush and his folks into office are going to Crossover and vote for Hillary. How crazy does that sound?
The Republicans, would love nothing more than for Hillary to run in 2008. However, she could never over come her legacy of being tied to her husband, which is like poison in many of the Southern states. Al Gore, and Erskin Bowles in North Carolina are examples of the negative side of the Clinton legacy. My brother, who is a moderate Republican, told me that in order for him to cast a vote against the party, it better be a moderate Democrat, strong and unknown to the public now. I tend to agree with him.
History is a great example, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and of course George Bush came from almost vitually nowhere to take the country. This less known, the better.

Reality check
It's 2005, not 2008. It doesn't matter. There are elections coming up before 2008 - let's focus on them one at a time.
Then Who?
George W was known the bushes have been well known in politics for some time. Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter yes, they were unknowns but that worked for them and it's a different era.
Americans want someone they can trust. They want someone they know, someone they can count on. They know Hillary Clinton for better or worse and if she picks the right running mate she's got a decent shot of being president.
Look at all the polling data the party is willing to nominate her, I know all of the Governors and Sentator in the US. There is no one ready to run for president. Our party is kind of weak right now on big names, and on names at all. If your looking for a moderate Democrat then your going to keep looking for a while.
I can think of a couple. Sen. Evan Bayh and Gov. Tom Vilsack.. the rest of our talent are freshman, too old, or too liberal or conservative.
I'm sorry, I am kinda neutral on Hillary but 2008 is going to be different were going to know exactly who our nominee is going to be and so is the rest of the country. These are different times and I think Dean knows we have learned our lesson.
Hillary could tap General Wes Clark as her VP. With name, Nat Security and mutual charisma who can beat them? The Democratic Party always has this tradition of having their nominee wait in the dark and then burst out to the finish line. Not anymore, we know our nominee and we are going to take her right to the White House.
Then again, 2006 is closing fast and there are plenty to gain and even lose before then so lets keep marching and KICK ASS!!!

Hillary?????????????V.P.
I personally think it would be to our benefit if she was on the ticket, but for V.P. not President. I'm tired of hearing about her being a to liberal.Kerry was supposed to be to liberal also, it didn't matter over 57,000,000 voted for him, in my opinion it was much more. It was a hack job,YOU KNOW IT.... Anyway, i know a bunch of you don't care for Evan Bayh, i believe he is the man. I live in Indiana,he has that crossover appeal were looking for. I don't agree with him all the time, but overall he is a good man.I'm a union construction worker, Bayh has been a friend to organized labor.Which is still very important, to the working man.I agree he is a bit dull, but that will change as we get closer to '08. I believe a BAYH/CLINTON ticket is the strongest we dem's have to offer right now.
Hillary
What's wrong with Hillary? She's already proven to be a moderate, besides, she's no more liberal than Bush Is Conservative. Don't forget there's more registered dems than republicans.
I will bite on this one thoug
I will bite on this one though I really don't think we should be thinking this far ahead... If we where on the other side of the fence maybe....
But ok I will throw in my 2 cents
Hillary (as of now) is a strong candidate. I think she can win according to polls the only candidate the republicans can produce (again as of now) to take her down is Guliani.(Let me tell you he is better then some of our candidates... He is my fav Republican although I guess that doesn’t say much lol)
