SOLUTION: Buy as many NEWS and TALK MEDIA as possible to fight back.

I think the Progressive's solution is to:

Concentrate on buying as many NEWS and TALK MAIN-MEDIA as possible to fight back, and overwhelm the GW's Gestapo sheer-fear machines

The source of power for GW is his domination over the Fear-driven controlled-media.

The NeoCons Dictatorship has taken over the MAIN STREAM MEDIA, and a deep national depression is setting in.  No one can dare to tell the truth, or else the media will destroy him or her!  Hunter Thompson's suicide is the tip of the iceberg.  Thompson was writing a book on GW.

To keep hope alive, please spread the word about our solution to your friends and the decision makers in our Dem Party.

Thanks.

Bushs Social Security ad

I just saw an ad on T.V. that Bush ran for his social security program asking people to call or write to their Congress for support, now why are the Democrats not given the same amount of airtime?

Who is paying for Bush's ads?

I wonder who is paying for these ads. There are also recorded messages when you call the Social Security offices. Are these public disservice announcements? If we find out who is paying for them, we will know who will benefit by privatization the most. Follow the money trail and its leads to the perpetrators. Maybe, the Republicans will shoot themselves in the foot and cart Mr.Greenspan out for an ad. He is the poster boy for the group that never plans on retiring. Doesn't his family want him at home? Also by aiming at AARP, he attacks us babyboomers who are now eligible to join. We need to remind our children that this scheme would hurt their parents now and them later. It is a no win,no win for the middleclass. Where are our ads?

a no win no win

it is a no win because the democrats can not agree on anything and they agree with everything. So the people wait for someone who says what they mean and mean what they say only problem is the dems do not have anybody with any new ideas. they are all old politicans with old ways of thinking where are the new ideas, i.e new forms of after school care, new people to people interaction where people get to voice there concerns to the party leaders. The people on the street know what they want and need it is just that the democratic leaders are not asking the people so the leaders do not know what the people are passionate about so we have no drive to move forward or support where it will be most effective. We support everything and everybody and are passionate about nothing.

Stanley, I don't think it's that bleak.

We are very passionate around here. In fact, we have been critized for being too passionate.
We don't support everything. Our members differ in opinion on many subjects.
What we do have in common are goals, for the direction of our party and our country.

The glass is half full, sometimes.

One doesn't need a new idea

One doesn't need a new idea for manufactured "problems".

I will agree with the notion that Democrats need to be bolder. This website is nurturing that, so jump on board, be bold, and no longer criticize. Instead get out in front and drown out the meekness to the rear.

My own feeling is that we need to offer zero taxes on necessities including
(income tax) and healthcare for all workers as a start.

Stanley, one of the reasons

Stanley, one of the reasons that our party was in trouble is the years of selling out by DLC centrists, which watered down what Democrats really stand for: the American middle class. The distinct line separating fundamental philosophies was blurred to the point where many average Americans now identify falsely with the wrong party. Those of us left with our liberal ideals intact were easy targets for rightwing attack machine.

IMHO, that problem is now in our rear-view mirror. Slowly, people are beginning to wake up to the fact that republicans stand for corruption, religious extremism and corporate plundering.

It's true, we do support a wide variety of peoples and ideas, but isn't that what really accurately represents America? I won't support your position that we are passionate about nothing for a minute. Those who are disinterested are those who've been turned off by the atmosphere of terror alerts, voting fraud and political polarization crafted by the Neocons. They need to wake up and see what is happening while they've been asleep. That's what we are trying to accomplish here.

You see Stanley, there are

You see Stanley, there are democrats, and then there are Democrats. The small "d" types are the ones you are speaking of, and are the centrists and self-serving members of our Party. Democrats.com however, (note the big "D") is a group of Progressive Democrats who feel much the same as you.

As GM and Jim suggest, try to get to know a little more about us, and become an instrument for change. We need all of the help we can get.

A little history

Both Reagan and Bush managed to veto having the Fairness Doctrine put into law, and I believe the 1996 Telecommunications Act killed it altogether.

Here is a link with some history of the Fairness Doctrine. This is why you don't see "fair and balanced" news anymore.

We believe in human rights

Stanley, it was not our lack of passion that cost us the elections. We have more scruples than to sell our souls to the Diebolds of the world. We believe in the rights of all Americans to be treated fairly and honestly. We believe in the middle class and the fact that America is a place where everyone can succeed if they work hard and are committed to their goals. These aren't old ideas. These are lasting ideals. I agree we do need to get a little meaner and tougher in our debates. We need to let people know that Roosevelt was right when he said "That the the only thing we have to fear is fear itself". We need to make Americans remember that it is not the Republican me and mine but it is the we and us that make this country special. We need to remember that we are only some of the inhabitants of the earth and that we are charged with protecting the planet not destroying it. We believe that we still can make a better world and that we will find the voice to lead us. We do need to do this sooner than later while we still can. Many of us are middle-aged baby boomers. Don't give up on us. We have a lot of fight still left in us. Did you hear that George and Dick?! Don't send Scotty boy to disseminate your party lies.
