Democratice Dirty Tricks

Liberals are always complaining that Republicans win their elections by surpressing the vote, disinfranchising minority voters and rigging voting machines, despite the fact that no one has ever produced any hard evidence.  I happen to believe that both sides are guilty of dirty tricks from time-to-time but only the Left whines about it.  The truth be told, in recent years the Democrats have been far more guilty of the "Win at any cost" mentality.  Here are just a few examples:

1)      They talk about disenfranchising the African American vote in Florida as if it were a fact, but other than antidotal evidence I have never heard of hard evidence that this occurred.

2)      When speaking in Florida, Kerry talks about that unlike the 2000 election they want every vote to count and blame the Republicans for thwarting this from happening in 2000.  The reality, there has never been any evidence that Gore won in Florida in 2000.  The problems that occurred in Florida in 2000, only occurred in counties run by Democratic election supervisors and Gore operatives tried to push for recounts in Democratic counties only knowing full well that statistically speaking would cause Gore to pick-up votes.  The Democrats didn’t want every vote to count, just votes in Democratic counties.

3)      In 2000, Democratic operatives in several states gave cigarettes to homeless people (an a ride to the polls) to get them to vote for Gore in clear violation of election law.

4)      In the current election cycle, the Democrats have tried to use the court system to keep Ralph Nader off of the ballots in any state he was registered.  This is completely UN-American.

5)      Despite the California constitution that allows for a recall vote, the Democrats tried to use the court system to suppress the will of the people.

6)      Despite New Jersey election law, the Democrats replaced Senator Torricelli with Frank Lautenberg past the deadline once it became clear the Torricelli would lose his re-election bid.  They did this knowing that a Democratic State Supreme Court would turn a blind eye toward election law.

7)      Gerrymandering (of congressional districts) by the party in power has occurred since the Republic was founded.  Over the years, Texas has gone from a Democratic state to a Republican state.  When it was clear the Democrats would lose congressional seats in congress, the Democratic state legislators left the state twice to try to avoid a quorum knowing they would lose a straight up-and-down vote.

8)      Democrats in the Senate have used the filibuster to avoid Bush nominees to the Federal Bench knowing these judges would be confirmed if the nominee were voted on in the Senate.  This had never occurred in the history of the United States prior to the Democrats employing this tactic for judicial nominees over the past two years (despite the Constitution only requiring 51 votes to confirm).

"no one has ever produced any hard evidence"

Question to you:
are you able to produce any hard evidence supporting you claim that the homeless smoked ?

you are COMICAL :-))))

Dirty Tricks

If your only retort to my post was picking at one point while ingnoring the other 7 undenialable points, that's pretty weak. I may be comical in your opinion, but you are pathetic.

I agree

It is so easy for someone to write a page full of STUFF that puts down Democrats but where is the Proof? Where is hte smoking gun that brings it home and knocks it our of the park? These are the same people that stand up in absolute certainty that the republicans can do no worng even though there are witnesses who say the same things about Repubs as this person says about Dems While I hate to say it because I am Dem there is back-handed dealings going on by both parties and there always will be. Unfortunately it has become the Americn way and that is sad. So in the name of good sportsmanship why not stop the crap slining on here and just stick to good old conversation. If you don't like what you hear here, leave but don't be nasty, like my mom used to tell us when we were young-play pretty or you can't play at all. This should be the place we all start working to make things better for and in both parties to make our America a better place again. If we can start here, do it here , we can build on that and take it out there and maybe make a difference. If anyone on here doesn't want to work for that maybe they shouldn't be here. Maybe they should go find one of those other ites that talks hate. Just a thought! Let's try to keep this positive , honest and constructive. There will be times when negative things are said but if they are true that's ok. If they are done out of hate , anger or just plain meanness it's time for that poster to look for another site that enjoys that kind of stuff! Just a suggestion to keep this site positive, constructive and effective for positive change.

What did I say that was so me

What did I say that was so mean and non-factual? Weren't the three counties that had all of the problems in the 2000 election (Palm Beach, Broward and Dade) predominantly Democratic with Democratic elections supervisors? Didn't the Democrats only want to recount those counties? Didn't the Democrats in Texas first flee to Oklahoma and then to New Mexico to try to avoid the forming of a Quarom? Didn't the Democrats for the first time in history use the fillabuster to block judicial nominees that would have won confirmation in a straight up-and-down vote? Wasn't Torecelli who was trailing in the polls get replaced after the deadline? Did the Democrats sue in every state where Nader was on the ballot to try to remove him? Didn't the Democrats try to block the California recall initiative?

Your problem is you just don't want to address the facts.

Member of democrats.com

Correct me if i'm wrong; I thought the idea of being a member of Democrats.com was that you had to be a democrat or at least not some idiot republican sympathizer who has no idea what he is talking about.

Proof?

Observer from Europe, You want proof? O.K. at my polling place Kerry supporters made their way into the polling building, not 100 feet from the polling building, not the lobby of the polling building, but actually inside with the machines, and were handing out 'Sample ballots'which were all premarked Democrat. I don't know if the were hoping for voters to actually turn in these 'sample' ballots or just look at them and punch theirs the same way. Needless to say the Police and Polling commision were called and the situation taken care of (how many votes were skewed at my polling place by this practice?)

they shouldn't be doing that.

But, doesn't mean it's okay for votes to be tampered with by republicans either.

gerrymandering of districts

Correct me if I'm wrong, but seems to me I remeber hearing about Republicans redistricting to cut down on black voters in certain areas. They lost like 3 representatives, didn't they?
