You should all step back and take a moment
After reading through all of the posts I have a few comments. Many of the opinions on this board seem to parrot the opinions of such "non-biased opionions" expressed on the New York Times OP-ED page or in The Nation magazine. Liberals as so often the case want to blame someone else for their fortunes. They blame Karl Rove, Rupublican dirty tricks of the ingnorance of the electorate. This is what the loony left always said after the election. With exception of Clinton being elected (by moving to center), the Democratic party has been on the decline since 1980. They now are in the minority in the bulk of the state legislature (22 of 50), the Republicans have 28 of 50 the 50 governorships and control the White House, the House and the Senate. In the last 50 years they have only 4 Presidents in office. This isn't an accident it's a trend. The Democrats are no longer a national party, they are simply a minority party that gets weaker in each election cycle. They are out of touch with reality and out of touch with the majority of Americans. If you want to keep losing elections continue to make villians out of your opponents, blame everyone else for your misfortunes and talk to the majority of Americans.
I see a ground swell of Democrats talking about possible candidates for 2008. I hear Kerry mentioned, perhaps John Edwards and of course Hillary. First all Kerry was just a bad candidate. John Edwards couldn't even carry his own state and chose not to try to retain his own seat in the Senate because he wouldn't have won. Hillary, she's a joke. It's all about electoral math. States like Wisconsin, Minnesota and even Michigan have been trending more conservative for years just like Iowa. The only reason Kerry barely carried New Hampshire (which is basically a red state) is that he was from next store. For the Democrats to win the 2008 election, they would need to hold the aforementioned states and pick-up a couple of red states. Tell me one red state that Hillary can carry?
